Super cute less modern hotel. The vibe is classic, and it isn't very fancy. AC is window units which is to be expected for any older building. Walking distance from lots of shops and places to eat, and a great view.

Second time here, nice little restaurant for breakfast or lunch. Comfortable lobby with gas fireplace when cold. Friendly staff

STAY AWAY! My family and I stayed at this hotel for two nights in April 2025. We were excited to bring our family golden retriever along with us on this trip. (The hotel prides themselves as being very dog friendly.) However, we left the hotel completely covered with either bedbug bites or flea bites. Not only that, we booked a suite with two beds and we were given a room with one bed. We were told the one we booked was not available, so my family of 4 had to sleep together in one bed. The stay was a nightmare. We reached out to the hotel manager, James, to describe our situation and show him the pictures of our bites. We were not compensated at all. We love Hood River but we will never be back to this disgusting hotel.

Was ok, interest place but tire alarm went off several times in the middle of the night said was a wiring issue. Manager was actually really rude about it when I asked to be reimbursed one of the nights I stayed, was kind off weird how rude she was. Owner saw the string of emails though and offered a few nights stay free of charge.

Avoid at all Costs!!!! We checked into the "naked winery" suite last weekend and were absolutely disgusted with the lack Of cleanliness and care of our room. Pictures will Show you multiple spots on the wall where boogers were smeared, long black hair all over the floors and rub, pubic hair on towels, sheets and the toilet lid! In a time where sanitizing and cleanliness is of upmost importance for the health and safety of mankind, this hotel has proved that they do not care and just want to cut corners to make a few bucks. I reached out to the front desk and showed her in person how filthy our room was and told her it needed to be sanitized before we returned for bed at 10 pm. We arrived back at our room and nothing had been touched. I then reached out to management who didn't seem to care much except discount my room. Highly disturbing that this was allowed. There are several other hotels we would Recommend in hood river. The best western is great! So is the west cliff. Honestly the la Quinta we stayed at last time even better! Avoid this hotel unless you are in the mood to catch Covid and take some time off work.

Amazing staff, the decor is so authentic and welcoming. Our room was cozy and warm, the landline phones in the rooms are authentic vintage ones. The free apples everywhere are a great touch!

Expensive, crowded and rooms are noisy. Tile was dirty in bathroom. Tv remote broken. Choose something else. Parking is 15 a day extra.

We have fond memories of this space when it was formerly a quaint micro brewery; now we're staying in the converted brew works that is ideally located in the heart of Hood River. If you're not familiar with this town, you will be equally blown away by the sensational geology and twin volcanos separated by the Gorge itself. On the one hand, the grounds are lovely, with some nice views of a waterfall cascading down to the Columbia River. The hotel has nice "bones" and the interior incorporates a lot of Art Deco touches, although we didn't agree with every design choice. There's a cool, old-fashioned hand-operated elevator that needs a staff member to operate. My biggest issue had to do with the cost of the room in late October given that the view of the river was very limited by small-ish windows and trees. Overall, just not worth the $325/night rate. The hotel appears to be a prime destination for weddings, which could be fantastic if the weather cooperates. It is located just west of small Hood River, which appears to lack much in the way of fine dining, but does have a number of boutiques, a great brewpub (Pfriem), and a great coffee/breakfast place (Kickstand). For us, given all of the other waterfalls along the Gorge, I think we would have been just fine with a less expensive, less notable hotel for the night.

The room (The Gorge Room) was ok, and had a Murphy bed (as advertised), but it sure felt like a full not a queen size. Very small. Also, again as advertised, the bathroom for this room is down the hall. This wasn't a problem and we expected it (again, as advertised). However, upon getting into the shower, both the diverter handle and water pressure/temp handle came right off! Fortunately, I was able to get both back into the slots internally and take showers, but that should definitely be fixed/replaced. Overall this is a very old property with lots of charming design and decor. Just be aware that this may come with challenges, and older reviews make it sound better than it is. It certainly isn't living up to its older reputation. It is also largely an unstaffed property. I did see a lady working in back and spoke to her briefly, but other than that, no one.

Sakura Ridge provided a very comfortable stay with everything that we needed to unplug and relax. There were many small details that we appreciated- a beautifully designed and very clean room, comfortable bed and sheets, heated floors, snacks and drinks in the common area (hot cocoa, tea, soda, popcorn), and guidebooks, cookbooks, and maps for guests. The breakfasts were delicious and carefully prepared by Deanna. We had fresh lamb sausage, cherry tomato and goat cheese tart, scrambled eggs with chives, and sorrel salad. The second day, we had a cream cheese omelette, ham wrapped asparagus, and fresh blueberry scone. Deanna also made a berry smoothie both mornings. John was very kind and taught my husband how to feed their lambs on the second morning. We met him at 8am and my husband got to feed 3 lambs at one time! I have to say, it was a unique and fun experience. We stayed in the Orchard Room, which was great. It was built as an addition in 2007, so it has a separate entrance and felt very private. The bathroom was well appointed with a marble walk-in shower and soaking tub. We had a private balcony overlooking the chickens and lambs on the farm, and it offered an AMAZING view of Mt. Hood. One of the best things about Sakura Ridge is that it's situated on a farm with animals (lambs and chickens) and fruits (pears, apples, peaches, plums, and berries) and vegetables. We highly recommend staying here and would love to return in the summer.
