RUDE and Unwilling to accept responsibility.
I was in town visiting the inlaws for the holidays (from Seattle)
When I initially pulled up I was informed that the rear wiper was damaged on my Explorer. I told the operator I had the replacement with me, it had broken when I tried to pull it from the window when frozen (doh!)
After going through the carwash I returned to my inlaws and went to change said wiper, and found 1/3 of my tailgate was missing! A large piece about 1 foot by 3 feet had been completely pulled off my vehicle.
I returned immediatly and asked to speak to a manager. when the "manager" came out it was the same operator. Before he was even within 10ft of my truck his first words to me were "we are not paying for that"
After some back and forth about it not being an aftermarket part, I was then told it didnt happen there.
"That is strange" I replied "you noticed my WINDSHIELD WIPER BUT DIDNT NOTICE THIS HUGE PIECE MISSING ??" He said "No, I did not notice that before, but it was probably cracked, I see it all the time"
We found the missing part, broken, within the carwash. The "manager" then said he sees Explorers with "that part missing all the time"...as I said its a 3rd of my tailgate, not something you see broken often.
After more back and forth he continued to YELL "I'm not paying for it, I didnt break it" I said "you didnt , but your machine clearly did"
Insurance is now dealing to get the claim. read more
