My husband saw this market on yelp located palama street. Said let's go check um out. He dropped me off and right away I walked in and its like a mom and pops grocery store. Lots of local residents that live close by comes and buys snacks soft drinks etc. They sell poke bowls and Vietnamese bahn mi sandwiches. The aunty took my order and the husband made my poke bowls. Took out also lau lau to go. Oh yes rhey have hawn plate too. The poke bowl i had was ok shoyu ahi and you get to choose your topping like ogo, fishcake, Kim chee, daikon, pickles. My husband chose spicy ahi bowl said the ahi was very light on the spicy mayo he said he wished it would of have more Sriracha mayo taste but it was ok. Will try the lau lau for dinner. Very pleasant and cheerful lady at the counter. She constantly greeted the customers when entering the store. Let's start at the beginning. Say a Yelp post a few days early. Thinking of what to have for I told my wife let's go. Located on Palama St. just mauka of Vineyard. Dropped wife off because There's really no parking. I circled around and parked next to a fire hydrant near the store and waited. A car Parked in front of the store left. I went and parked there. That wasn't a legal parking stall either. Well I wanted to see the interior of store. Made a fast walk through and came back to wait in the car till my wife returned. She got me a Spicy Ahi bowl and a shoyu ahi bowl for herself. Also picked up a couple of laulaus for dinner Laulau was very good. Tasty and a good pork to luau leaf ratio, It did have a small amount of pork fat. Delicious. As for the poke bowls. A new place for me to try their bahn mi sandwich! Likelike Market on Palama Street. Very good! They also have fresh poke bowls! Anna was very nice and they make the ingredients in the bahn mi sandwich as you order it. Nice convenient store sells all other snack goods too! Come check it out. I forgot to take pictures of the sandwiches. I ordered 3 Saigon special sandwiches. She also said she made this dessert ube cake flan and that was quite delicious too! Not too sweet and just right! Definitely a must try here. I would be a regular if my work schedule would allow it. For the price good quality food since the homemade items are definitely made with dedication and love. The service; they are very nice, hospitable and they take care and time while putting the food together. It is the type of mom & pop store all children should have in their memory when thinking about what was awesome in their childhood. She has 3 ten foot rows of canned foods, toiletries, spices, etc. some alcohol & regular drinks, ice cream and some hot foods. Me & the kiddo are currently addicted to her spring rolls which she fries to order for afternoon customers. She just told me today that her mom makes them. After a few weeks of driving there, walking in and ordering, and waiting, today I called while on the freeway. By the time I walked in my 3 hot spring rolls ready to go. Yum! I also got a manapua today which was questionable last time, but today for some reason, was of much better quality. I love the soft bun and the meat wasn't as much of a mystery as last time! Yay! I recommend this place because I am a lover of small, local businesses. I will pick them over box places every-time. I love finding the unexpected hole in the wall. It's your typical grungy little market on the side of the road, but you can't complain when it's got all the oddities you might for whatever reason need -- mustard, chicharrones, jasmine rice, toilet paper, and pretty cheap cigarettes. The Chinese owners keep a fair amount of decent and inexpensive homemade hot food on hand too, like spaghetti with meat sauce (the wife lived in Italy for four years and adapted the ragu for local tastes, which means it's sweeter and runnier), fried rice, yakisoba, teri chicken, chili frank, Spam musubi, and about six different kinds of baked and steamed manapua. read more

Small store with nick nacks, ice cream, drinks, snacks, canned foods, liquor, and so forth. I believe this store opens around 7:30AM. In the morning, there is an assortment of snacks on the counter. It's sort of like Seven Eleven and Manapua truck fair. She usually has: bentos, spam musubi, char siu manapua, hot dog, ham and cheese (yes like the one from the manapua truck), boiled egg, and rice cake. If you go early in the morning it is hot and fresh. Sometimes she makes shoyu chicken or other hot foods as well. The snacks on the counter are delicious. Just like how you remember from back in the day. The snacks on the counter remind me of the times when my grandmother would buy rice cake, hot dog, and ham and cheese from our local manapua man. They also make smoothies. They make taro, berry, lychee, honeydew, strawberry, and other assortment of flavors. Currently, they are out of the tapioca balls to put in the drinks. Usually the lady is there serving customers. She is sweet and is usually always there. If shes not there, her daughter is usually there helping out. They are really nice and it's a good place to just grab a quick snack or drink and go. My little sister went in today to get smoothie but unfortunately they didn't have the flavor she wanted so she didn't make a purchase and just walked out. While walking to the car she stumbled upon a brown paper bag with trash so she went inside and said "auntie can you throw this away" But the lady said abruptly "we don't have any trash cans in here, trashcan outside" in her accent. (like really? NOT ONE TRASHCAN IN THE WHOLE STORE) The thing is, my little sister was trying to rid of the liter in front of YOUR store and you're going to be rude just because she didn't buy anything. My little sister walked out and threw the Brown bag back where she found it and muttered under her breath because of the attitude she's gotten, all of a sudden the lady's daughter walks out and screams "WHAT BITCH? WHAT DID YOU SAY, IM GOING TO FLY THIS SHIT AT YOUR FUCKING CAR" and picks up the brown trash bag and threw it at my little sister while she was getting in her car.
