Shiso good... Finally here at Ry's Poke Shack and let me tell you this place was certainly worth the wait though I don't think that I'll wait too long for my next visit cause I need to try my second and third choice as they all sound just so amazing. I've been having mad cravings for poke but not your standard and felt a bit more bougie this shack has it for you either on a bed of nachos style, bowl with rice or salad or just straight up by the pound. I really wanted a bowl but the option to have it on a salad actually was really nice and refreshing along with their sesame dressing oooooo it was gone as soon as I took a pic of it lol got a shoyu poke for mom as she's been craving them too it just looked so fresh and delicious as it was made just right. Although the space is very small they worked it quite well with a few tables for those that just need to get started along with a fun an creative accent wall the whole vibe was very vibrant along with their staff so friendly and helpful with any questions parking though can be though but is free and we all do appreciate the convenience. Poke can be enjoys so many ways and here they also have many variations as well. Thank you!

Hot shoyu poke (one choice) over rice with an additional scoop of crab salad

The place was small but super clean. I got the hot shoyu (one choice) with an extra order of crab salad. The poke was fresh but the fish was a bit warm and the hot shoyu sauce didn't cover all of the fish pieces. I know it is made to order but for the lunch rush ... it might be better to make a batch of it so the marinated sauce could sit for a little bit longer. I will definitely come back again and try a different sauce.

Came here for the first time. Ordered the 2 poke combo with their recommended What's Crack'n sauce poke and the Lao Style poke. We also ordered 1/2lb of their Shiso Chimichurri poke. All the pokes were fresh and full of flavor. I honestly thought the Crack sauce poke was the least favorite of the 3. The Shiso is more of a Korean base poke, and the Lao was a like oyster style poke and spicy too. They are very limited in drinks so if you want to drink something particular, bring your own. Overall, pretty decently priced for the portion and quality that you get. Staff is friendly and fast. Parking is small and horrendous so good luck lol. I would leave your larger vehicles at home. There are very limited tables so prepare to be able to eat outside in your car or drive to the mall or beach. We got lucky to have a table open up for us when our order was ready.

    Tsunami Nachos $23.95

Congratulations on the town location! For townies like me, it's a hard trek out to Kahuku location for Ry's poke. It was my favorite for a while, until I stopped being able to go often. Ry and his wife are always super friendly and have plenty of aloha. Unfortunately, didn't see neither of them this time. Small cozy location next to Jugo life. Parking can get a little difficult depending on the time. Order and they text when it's ready. We got the Tsunami nachos ($23.95), which came with wonton chips fried in beef tallow (yum), tsunami style poke, 2 scoops of crab salad, cucumbers, tobiko, and some spicy mayo sauce, punish, and furikake on top. We shared it, and it was a nice snack between 2 of us for lunch. Fish was very fresh and buttery smooth, however I wish the poke was more flavorful. A downside is that I felt there wasn't as much fish, so the wonton to poke ratio was off. My favorite was the Lao Style poke, which I didn't get this time but that one had so much umami and perfect kick! Would more likely come back again to try some of other Honolulu exclusive flavors.

If you like Poke bowls, you're going to Love Ry's poke shack! Fresh tuna right from the auction blocks brought to you with local ingredients! The tuna just melts in your mouth, the simple shoyu poke leaves you wanting more. And Chef Dayson's special will leave you with a big smile on your face! Even though they are incredibly busy, the line moves quickly. Very efficient and you don't even have to hang around, they will text you when your order is ready for pick up. There is plenty of parking available, although the lot is a little tight. Old style parking stalls, which are quite narrow. If you find yourself it Honolulu this place is a must try!

Poke bowl Mayjah 2 choice (Limu & Yuzu wasabi) with crab salad +$2

Amazing poke at Ry's Poke Shack!!! Just had to try RPS after hearing sashimi-grade ahi featured here. We knew it was in Waimanu Street near Ala Moana Center so off we ventured. There's a parking lot with a limited number of stalls. Luckily we got a space after a short wait. We joined a short line of eager customers; great hungry minds think alike lol. This gave us a bit of time to read the menu and consider our choices. We both went for mayjah 2-choice poke bowl, which includes cucumber namasu. Two special flavors that day: shiso chimichurri and yuzu wasabi (I tried this one - it was ono). Poke is made to order. Could not resist adding crab salad +$2, so glad we did. There are 3 tables for dine in, which allowed us to savor our high quality poke bowls and to soak up the RPS vibe. Loved the mural! Many customers in line out the door when we left. Definitely plan to be back to try other flavors!!!

I've heard so many great things about this place. I've never been to their Kahuku location, so I was happy when they opened a location in town. I finally got to try it! It's a small shop with four dine in tables. Majority of the people ordered and took their food to go. My hubby got a two choice poke bowl with shoyu and limu $23.95. I also got the two choice bowl with Foodxjitsu ($4 upcharge) and What's Crack'N $27.95. I got a canned Diamond Head soda $2.50. Their bowls come with cucumber namasu. The fish was extremely fresh. They have great flavors. The Foodxjitsu tasted exactly like the ginger onion sauce they serve with ginger onion chicken. The What's Crack'N sauce was like a chimichurri sauce. Both flavors are exclusive to this location. The only problem I had was that they were a little skimpy on the amount of fish that they gave.

Lunch in Honolulu, Hawaii... When I found out that Ry's Poke Shack had a Honolulu location, I was super happy! I've been to the Kahuku location - and that's a drive! Uhg! I was thinking of visiting the Huntington Beach shop, but probably would go to the Pasadena one first... maybe next month! Anyway, if you ever get to meet Ry, he's a very friendly and personable guy... just look at his Instagram posts. He's very sincere and down to earth! I really want to support his efforts and his small local business! So... this Honolulu location shares the same parking lot with Hangang, a Ramen shop, a juice store, and a tonkatsu restaurant. It's very busy! I didn't want to pay $6 an hour for parking, so I did takeout even though there are three small tables inside of the cozy shop. Tip: go early... before they run out! There was a line when I arrived before opening time of 11:30am. The guy at the cash register was very efficient and the line flowed smoothly! There were two other guys in the kitchen and they were moving as quickly as they could! I got the Tsunami Nachos and took them to Ala Moana Center to devour. I just needed air-conditioning, free parking, and somewhere to sit in peace. I'm glad that I was with no one i knew because this is a messy dish. I had a glove on my hand so that I could just grind! The crab salad, tobiko, cucumber namasu, and tsunami style poke on the super crunchy wonton chips is winnahs! Add the unagi sauce, Furikake, and chili-mayo drizzle for a kick... and bam! Whoa! Da buggah mean! Broke da mout! In other words, this dish is quite unique and delicious! Try it!

The line wasn't as bad as the previous days, but it took about 40 minutes from when I got in line and got my order. They take your name and phone # after ordering. You will receive a text message when your order is ready. I also grabbed the wrong order and thought they called my name. I walked back to my office and opened my bowl before I realized it, and when I got back at the store... they had my right order. I felt really bad but the workers were nice about it. Overall it's the usual price for really fresh poke. I got a crack n sauce which is a Honolulu special and a half pound of the spicy ahi. It was good, their fish is really fresh, and their flavor offerings are interesting. They also don't skimp out on portions - I got full off of half of my poke bowl. Minus one star because for some reason, the taste was a little underwhelming. I had spicy ahi before that was bursting more with flavor. But I'm giving the benefit of the doubt and would go back again for another chance. I also want to try the other flavors!

If I could give more than five stars, I definitely would!! I tried Ry's Poke Shack when they only had their Kahuku location. I live in town, so I'd rarely drive up to the North Shore area. But their poke nachos were so good, I'd try to stop by when I get a chance to come up there. When I heard they were opening up a location in town, I was ECSTATIC! I was finally able to make it down there on 5/28, but was worried they were sold out. I've been keeping tabs on their IG and they've been selling out almost daily! I called the number listed on Yelp and Ryan answered. He was super friendly and personable! Assured me that there was still poke left, so I got there as soon as I could. Lots of parking and space was clean! I got the foodxjitsu and what's crack n sauce and my bf got the shiso chimichurri and yuzu wasabi. ALL flavors were sooo good! My favorite has to be the foodxjitsu if I had to pick. The fish was so fresh. I hate stringy poke and Ry had none of that. The poke was high quality and melt in your mouth. Easily the top place to get poke - I'd say the quality of fish at Ry's beats out Ono's, off the hook, maguros, etc. It was honestly so good that I had to order another half pound of spicy ahi. Sadly, they were sold out of the poke nachos though. But the portion sizes were HUGE! So good thing they were sold out of the poke nachos, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to finish everything. I'm definitely coming back soon to get that though. You can tell Ryan really cares and enjoys what he does! Literally the definition of Mr. Aloha. He takes the time to get to know all his customers and makes sure they're taken care of. Can't wait to come back!

Limu and Lao Style poke with namasu and added crab salad.

I have not made it out to Kahuku for the original location so I was excited to hear they were partnering to open a location in town. There was a line before the shop opened but it was good to see the owner talking to people. Very nice, down to earth guy. There are a limited number of small tables inside so be prepared to eat someplace else. The staff was working hard to get orders out and the order taker was friendly. It took around 20 minutes to get my food so keep in mind they make each order fresh. Since it was my first time I went all out and got two types of poke and paid $2 more for crab salad. For my poke choices I wanted a plain, traditional one to taste the quality of the fish so I got Limu and got the Lao Style since it sounded unique. The limu was a very good and solid version. I could taste how good the fish was. The Lao style has garlic, fish sauce, Thai chili peppers, cilantro, shoyu, onion, and green onion. This was unlike any pike I've had before in terms of flavors and it had a good amount of spice without being overpowering. It was nice to have the limu poke to take a break from the heat haha. The namasu (pickled cucumber) was good and solid version was the crab salad. I now understand the hype over this place and glad I finally got to try it! It would be nice if the cuts of fish were a little more uniform but overall the freshness and taste are worth the price.

Finally Ry's Poke Shack opened in town. They're soft opening at this moment. There's a parking lot, I believe the first hour is free. Service is always good and efficient. The store is small but they have 4 tables for us to dine in. Menu is the same as Kahuku location but they have 2 exclusive pokes which are Foodxjitsu and what's Crack'n. I order 2 choices poke bowl ( spicy ahi and What's Crack'n). Oh my god! The fish is really fresh and well marinated. Their crab salad is also outstanding. Everything is so delicious. I'm sure I will go more often now since it's convenient.

It was love at first bite for me with musubi and onigiri, so when I saw a spot dedicated to this deliciousness you better believe I made a point to go there! See musubi and onigiri have humble origins as a quickly made homespun snack or on the go lunch, and when you spot them in the convenience environment they're often a giant ball of rice with a tinge of protein or seasoning for flavor. At Iyasume, these are culinary adventures, stacked with ingredients, all in handheld form, and the variety they offer is IMPRESSIVE! Of course musubi starts with the classic, SPAM. Onigiri here are actually layered with ingredients, so you get them in every bite, unlike the convenience store versions! They have a HUGE menu, and I went with spicy mentaiko and salmon, spicy mentaiko and ikura, ikura and salmon, and tuna mayo curry, all of which were great. I LOVE that they make these to order. You can see the line in the back hard at work, and they're very fast. You're sure to encounter a line when you arrive, but don't be scared, it moves quickly. I only had to wait about 5 minutes for mine to come up! Well worth it. Reasonably priced. Very filling. A taste of Hawaii and Japan in one place that'll have everyone smiling!
