I bought the last link of boudin and the last boudin ball on our way thru to Lafayette. I wished I had not stopped. The boudin had absolutely no salt or flavor at all. And the boudin ball was mediocre. I'm glad those were the last two because we would have had to thrown it like we did the rest of the boudin. Would not recommend this place for travelers expecting to try boudin for the first time. They would never eat it again. The only crackling they had were chicken. They were out of pork. I had no problem with the food, but they charge a surcharge if you use a credit card - actually, I used a debit card - of 4.1%. There are no notices that inform you there will be an upcharge. I was told my total, but after I put my card in the machine, it bumped up. I only had a boudin ball - so we're talking small amount of money. But - it was still a 4.1% increase - on a debit charge. After I looked up to make sure there is supposed to be notice posted - law in Louisiana that there is to be NO surcharge on a debit card. read more

I usually get the small burger which is very good! I went with the large recently and i think they use some sort of frozen patty which has the consistency of almost like a sponge. Highly recommend getting the small instead! read more

Decided to come when I saw their Thursday special is beef tongue. It's served with corn, a roll and a brownie. Was so good. My daughter had the chicken salad which according to her is very flavorful. Tip of the hat to the cook and server. read more

Lemme tell ya this is worth the stop. That's what's left of a plate of jambalaya and it's going home with me. Reasonably priced, exceptionally flavored and the sausage seems homemade. Take the time to stop here as a nice break on I-10. read more

We are back in SW Louisiana for multiple reasons so trying out local places. Here are a few things that we have had from Lil Cochon's: Breakfast - 1. Smoked sausage and eggs over easy with toast 2. BLT Lunch - 1. Fried Fish with onion rings 2. Shrimp stew over rice Supper - Boiled Crawfish with boiled potatoes and corn They make all of their food to order. Their prices are more than reasonable and the portions are enough for two people to split. They are South of Interstate 10 at the Lacassine exit. You can buy smoked sausage and other meat to take home and cook. If you are lucky you won't see the old guy in the blue shirt, they usually hide him in the back.... :-D read more

Great place for locals and out-of-Towners to grab the daily specials! We were here on Holy Thursday and had Pork Chops with cream gravy, mashed potatoes, corn, roll, and a brownie for $10.00! Absolutely fantastic little hole in the wall. There were 4 of us, so we had a variety of things. The shrimp po boy was great, can't say enough good things about the crab burger or the boudin balls! The balls were the perfect size, big enough to share with someone or enjoy yourself. And you get 3! The special was the shrimp fettucini, and wow, was that good. They must add some kind of special spice that kind of makes it a little more Cajun.. you won't be disappointed. Apparently Thursday is one of their busiest days, with the beef tongue special. They told us that they are usually sold out by 12:30PM, so if you want this, be sure to show up early!! read more

Excellent lunch plates, we had the gumbo and pork roast plates. Good old fashion cooking. The green bean casserole was made like grandma used to make it. Only reason we didnt give it 5 stars is it bordered on to spicy for us. read more

Hometown cooking with daily plate lunches. Lunch items like pork chops, jambalaya, red beans & rice and beef tongue. Also hamburgers and porous. Very reasonable prices. The locals eat here. Also some smoked sausage which is excellent. read more
