Shrimp plate with cole slaw, catfish plate with okra and boudin balls.

We stopped for a quick dinner. Steve saw a sign with this place. The only thing low carb is salad so I guess carbs today. I had the catfish plate with okra and Steve picked shrimp with coleslaw. We got the last order of boudin balls (lucky) before they closed. It was pretty quick and very clean. Except for the lettuce someone dropped on the floor. I guess they aren't keto.

The food was really good. We got the 4 piece fried chicken dinner that comes with one roll and fries. The chicken was very crispy and juicy. The roll and fries were really good, all was very fresh. You can order boudin by the pound here in mild or spicy. We got an order of 3 boudin balls, which were very good but apparently they sell out typically before noon. The service was good. It is a very homey place that isn't intimidating at all. The menu is simple and easy to read. I will say it seems to be a very straightforward place. Food is served on paper plates and cafeteria style trays so if you're thinking fancy then this isn't for you.

When you call yourself the "Boudin King" and you live in the a place once deemed the "Boudin Capital of the Universe" . . . . . . . well, it better be good. I've been all over Louisiana and have never had boudin as good as "Boudin King". Been eating here since I was about three years old, and I try to stop by every time I am passing through close to lunch time. A lot of places add to much rice, or try to overcompensate with too much meat, which just makes their boudin greasy. Boudin King has the recipe finely tuned and has been making it that way for about 50 years. I heard it through the grapevine that the locals say the taste hasn't been exactly the same since Mr. Ellis Cormier, the owner passed away, but in my opinion, they still got it. They also have a full menu of "Cajun" food like gumbo, seafood, fried anything, po-boys, etc...let me tell you, I just don't give 5 stars away freely. It's a little off the interstate and has never had much of a tourist patronage, but if you stop here, you won't be disappointed. Also worth noting is that they have another location closer to the interstate in nearby Crowley, LA, only this restaurant is called "Cajun Way".

Love their fried shrimp on their shrimp poboys. Still under ten bucks for a poboy and a drink.

It's just like kind of your typical drive-in with young people working who are all very nice and eager to help. With the help of the cashier, we got the bacon cheeseburger, the sweet potato fries, and the ham and cheese, which was recommended by someone else we had met earlier. I gotta say the burger was very respectable and I do definitely recommend it. No issues with small portions here it was well sized and appropriate. The sweet potato fries were very good as well. The ham and cheese wasn't as phenomenal as I was told it would be, it's like a warm sub with tomatoes and lettuce inside, but it was still pretty solid and if your ham and cheese person, then you would definitely like it. They have a lot of shakes flavors and an assortment of other burgers and sandwiches. If I lived in this area, I would definitely go back here.

The Park has a big breakfast following. They do pancakes and omelettes in addition to their standard breakfast fare. If you get a chance you should certainly try their Sweet Potato Pancakes! A Southern speciality! I am usually in the Park for lunch, and they are excellent for a midday meal. It should be mentioned that if you want to eat breakfast for lunch, they will accommodate you till 2PM! If you want a more traditional lunch, they have a daily Plate Lunch that pairs a hearty entree with rice and two sides. They also have a great selection of sandwiches ranging from a simple BLT to loaded Po-Boys. There's also a Crab Patty Burger for something delicious and different! But that's not all! There's soups, salads, and seafood! There's also a Short Order section of the menu. For the health conscious, there's a selection of grilled seafood served with grilled broccoli! There's also dessert! Usually there's slices of three to four pies, and often bread pudding. This will be a great finish for a homestyle meal. It's a small historic building, that's not too fancy. In fact it is so historic that the restrooms are outside out back. However, this shouldn't deter the visitor looking for a good meal, as we all know that local hole-in-the-walls are worth visiting...

Here today! Myself…read moreand 3 of my coworkers was on our way to Florida, 2 were truck drivers. For anyone that doesn't know, truck drivers and bus drivers know the best places to eat. I had no suggestions, all I knew was I knew of the best place to get some boudin balls. Picture the 4 of us hungry hippos talking over each other wanting what we want and all claiming we knew the best place to get the best of what we craved. I cleared the least hours so when it came to driving, NOT me but I totally forgot we were passing through Louisiana so I acted exhausted and chose the rear of the van so count me out the equation hahaha. The rule of thumb is the driver gets the final say on where we stop to eat and he CLAIMED the place he knew had great food including boudin balls (I'm in the rear flipping through my Yelp reviews searching for the place I was insisted on stopping at). Ok so we pull up to this deserted hole in the wall (see picture) parking lot irritated voicing my disappointment and so did the other 2 except the driver who was reassuring us the food was DA BEST, he raved on and on about their food was life changing. We walk in and the place and it's DESERTED, but I did see a couple eating boudin balls so ok fine. Our waitress took our drink order, I wanted an Arnold Palmer and she explained their tea wasn't sweet because majority of their customers were seniors. As we're looking over the menu the driver wasn't, he still insisting the food was da chiii and already knew what he wanted, I'm looking for BOUDIN BALLS hangry (hungry/angry) coworker 3 saying we needed to go elsewhere, coworker 4 asking is the food even Cajun and do they have seasoning she could add. As we're ordering I asked WHERE ARE THE DANG boudin balls, she say they don't have them and what I saw the couple had was fried mushrooms balls. The driver who chose the restaurant was conveniently in the restroom! We all order and waited impatiently for our meals still complaining and small talking. Our meals arrive and the 3 of us looking at our plates like toddlers deciding if we was going to eat what we was given, the waitress said it's a lot she knows. Naw lady, this a hole in the and inflation too high to waste on food we won't like, this Louisiana and we know there's better in this State. WE took our first bites in unison and said DAMN looks are deceiving! THEEE flavor was there! Each of us started raving about what we ordered and offering each other a taste of Louisiana cooking! The portions were enough to take with us since we would be arriving in Florida late and had to clear 8 hrs before we took over our buses. We was so satisfied with the portions of out left overs that we didn't need to spend anymore money, we want to sleep the rest of the ride. WE highly recommend Rice Palace if you want to try a different restaurant in Louisiana, or a budget because eating on a road trip isn't as affordable anymore we have to be cost conscious. Here today! Yup will be back tomorrow!

There's a lot of standard fare on the printed menus but my eyes went directly to the daily specials handwritten on the chalkboard which changes daily. The staff here is so efficient and quick to describe the specials and grab your drink order and of course they have freshly brewed sweet tea. After looking over the board I could not resist the home cooking option, a perfectly fried pork-chop, green beans, corn and of course a healthy portion of rice and gravy, it was outstanding so much like my momma made, we also ordered a club sandwich on toast, no frills just down home deliciousness.
