Overpriced! The service we received was good and the person friendly. But it was really overpriced compared to other plumbing services we have used in the past 2-3 years. Here are more details: we needed to have our kitchen faucet replaced with a new one. We called the plumber and he was able to come in the next morning, which was very timely. When he arrived he couldn't find the water meter for some time to shut off the water so he told us to start calling the water service company until finally locating the meter. Then he worked on replacing the faucet which took him a few hours, apparently the faucet was rusted so he needed to use him tools to cut it off. This all took him 3 hours and he charged us PER HOUR so this came to over $600. I was quite shocked. Other plumbers we have used in the past had charged us a flat fee for the service. This was just a rip off. read more

Don't let that baby face on the truck nor Romel's friendly demeanor fool you. Ms Rooter is shady and unprofessional. Charged us over $1,000+ more than what it would normally cost to do the job, and the workmanship is below par. After he gets paid, he cares less about helping you out. I wouldn't use them again, neither should you. I learned it the hard way after the fact. There are more professional contractors to choose from. read more

I needed to replace an old toilet. Rommel gave me a great price because I mentioned I found him on Yelp. Instead of an easy switch it turns out the flange was made of cast iron and very rusted. Since I have a concrete slab (no crawl space) I was looking at a jack hammering job that would costs thousands. Rommel felt bad about not being able to finish the job so he decided not charge me even though he had already done a lot work. He even turned down my request to pay him for his gas! Ready for my happy ending? I guess Rommel had an epiphany in his truck because he came back with 2 large bolts murmuring about taking a chance on an idea he had. our storm drain was clogged, which in turn affected our toilets flushing. needless to say, nasty sewage water was basically spilling over into our basement floor i showed rommel where i thought the clogged problem was. he took a look at it and in 5 seconds knew what the problem was, and located the source of the clog. inserted the snake tool and voila, within 5 seconds, the water started draining right away! rommel is super friendly and knowledgeable, you can tell he's really on your side. plus his rate is very very reasonable, cost $150 less than a different company i was going to try. thanks rommel, you're the first person we'll call when we have plumbing issues again! read more

Didn't fix the problem, only suggested a total re-do of plumbing throughout for $5,000, and said he would take a check but changed his mind and only wanted cash. He followed me to the ATM to collect like we were going to skip out on paying him. It's our house, where could we go? Poor, poor service. read more

The first time, a crazy sink situation on Thanksgiving day (I was expecting to pay tons because of the holiday, but he charged a very fare rate), then to create a cleanout and then yesterday's challenge - a bizarre sewer pipe situation. Don't even bother with these guys! I talked with Rommel around 8:00 AM and set up an appointment to unclog a drain between 9 and 10 AM. A little after 10:00 AM I called again to make sure they were still coming out to which Rommel replied laughingly that he had an emergency and would be out between 1:00 and 2:00 PM. He apologized for not calling to let me know but assured me he would be here to unclog the drain. It is now 5:25 PM and he is still not here and no phone call either. I wouldn't use these guys if they did the work for free. If your word is no good, then you can rest assured their work is probably not that great either! read more

Rommel is full of himself, arrogant in talking, and plays cheap. When I identified in the camera that there are still tree roots in the pipe - answer was I need to charge extra for cleaning up. I let this company in to my home because of it's good ratings. We needed a leak in the shower all he needed was to replace the washer. then just like that we had no shower. They caused a huge leak. now we have no use of our shower but we have water damage to the ceiling downstairs. They refuse to fix it. read more

We have had a backup problem in our main line due to roots for the last 7 years. Every year like clock work the main lateral would back up. Over the years we had several different plumbers snake and video the line to see the obstruction, so we knew that the time had come again. We called Lil Rooter and they gave us a time they would be there in the afternoon. They showed up on time which was a very good indication of the professionalism we would receive. Romell and Oliver showed up and immediately got to business snaking the line and offering to video tape the line for free. Just like in years past we see that the line has gotten worse. Romell offered to give us an estimate on replacing the main lateral with a trench-less pipe burst and under no pressure gave us time to decide to get it done. We accepted his offer and he put it in writing with a warranty in ink. We decided on a time and due to some scheduling conflict he immediately called us to reschedule by a day which was no problem at all. When the day came to go Oliver and another worker showed up on time and got to work. Minimal to no interruptions while excavating two spots in the front. It wasn't loud as I expected and Oliver asked us to watch the pipe bursting procedure and we were impressed. No problems no hiccups in and out in close to 4 hours. Oliver video taped the completed job and asked if we were satisfied, we were more then satisfied .Cleanup was acceptable because there was none, it was a clean quick job. Cliffs: -Needed lateral replaced due to constant backups due to root damage - Lil Rooter snakes and videotapes, offers estimate to replace line -Lil Rooter gets job done in 4 hours -Pipes are clear for whatever we throw at it, lol Lil Rooter offers a Professional, no BS, on time , knowledgeable service for your plumbing needs. I just purchased a new home and have had to make quite a few calls to different companies for various services. I actually created a yelp profile to post a review of Ms Rooter as the experience was excellent! Rommel was refered to us by a co-worker and we will definitely be calling him again. When he came out on a Saturday to do some work on our hot water heater and the washer hook-up he called in advance and was there at the beginning of the 2 hour time window given. While it took my handyman and his crew of 2 multiple hours to install a water line for the fridge, Rommel was in and out quickly and did a great job while providing options for short term/long term solutions to potential future problems. Some contractors never call or call you back. Lil Rooter contacted me promptly and they gave me the best offer and began work immediately. They fixed and replaced my 18 year old water heater. When a glitch came up they were willing to do what was necessary to make me happy. They were polite, knowledgeable and professional. I highly recommend them. We discovered water on the floor around the toilet. Called Lil Rooter and the owner had one of his assistants come out same day to deal with the issue. Turned out we had a crack in the base of the reservoir. After speaking with the owner, assistant went out and purchased (with our approval) and installed the replacement unit. We also asked him to look at why there was dripping from wash basin spigot and shower head. He did and informed us that the fix would require new valve stems. After getting quote, we gave him go-ahead and he replaced the parts and resolved the leak issue...........a couple months later we noticed that the water in the toilet reservoir would turn on frequently for a few seconds. It was annoying and puzzling. We called the owner, Rommel, and set up appointment for next morning. Upon his arrival, he examined the problem and felt it was caused by a defective unit in the recently-replaced reservoir. He replaced the entire whatchamijig (inside the reservoir) and resolved the issue. At least we're not hearing the water spontaneously turning on. We'll hope it remains fixed, but feel confident that owner will honor his parts and service warranty. We hadn't read Yelp before making the initial call. It appears a couple customers are not so happy; but based on our experience, we will not hesitate to call Lil Rooter for future plumbing repair needs. read more
