We had a wonderful first time visit. They are vegan friendly, very accommodating and the food was delicious! The ambiance is nice and very clean. Service was friendly and fast. We enjoyed the pan fried udon noodles with veggies, veggie fried rice, and several tasty veggie maki rolls. We'll be back!

For some odd reason, a lot of sushi places are closed around 2 pm... I was late for lunch but early for dinner but luckily Lili Sushi was open. For an appetizer, I ordered the Crab Rangoons and Fried Calamari. The calamari was perfectly cooked and bite cleanly. No chewiness at all All the rolls I ordered for lunch were fresh and tasted amazing. The service was top notch and the food arrived fairly quickly. The location is fairly small but there were plenty of tables to go around. When I arrived around 2, there was no one else in the restaurant but I was never ignored. This place is one of my favorite sushi places. I will surely return in the future.

It's really closer to 1.5 stars but that wasn't an option. As the late, great Anthony Bourdain once said, "never buy fish from a restaurant on Monday". But only SLIGHTLY less well known (besides this and starting a land war in Asia) is "never eat sushi from the burbs".....I should have listened. Eating a special dinner on Monday wasn't my fault, blame it on my birthday, but it was my fault for forgetting rules 1 and 2 above. But I guess it is my fault for choosing sushi in the burbs for my very special day. I have to say that the order I had delivered from Lili sushi takes the birthday cake in terms of worst sushi meal I've had so far in the Western Chicago suburbs. The quickest way for me to paint a picture is that my daughter threw up (twice after eating the unagi/cucumber role and my wife immediately spit out the hamachi appetizer. Please don't worry, it was touch and go for a while, but everyone is fine now. I think we did a good job ordering a wide selection of items to see which stood out: -Hamachi dice chilis -gyoza -sushi deluxe (with spicy tuna roll) -shrimp tempura roll -unagi/cucumber roll -spicy scallop roll -tonkatsu ramen Basically everything that had fish in it, I cannot in good conscious, recommend. Besides a couple of pieces, most was either chewy, off colored, or fishy. Unfortunately, the only picture I have to share is of the now infamous hamachi. The fact it looked thin, chewy and the color of un-baked pottery should have been a sign, but I put on a brave birthday face and ate more than one piece, and my poor digestive system is paying the price. Follow your instincts my fellow Illinois suburbanites and order the steak and potatoes on your special day. Or head to the city if you are feeling like sushi. Oh, why the half star? The ramen was actually pretty decent. Broth was rich, pork was flavorful and moist.

This corner restaurant is hidden but pushes out some great food. You walk into a darker room where you can see the chefs sushi making station. The tables are set with nice plating and utensils. The service is on point and on time. We ordered the fried cracker roll. The presentation struck me first. They took time to make a nice sushi roll and payed it out nicely with rose petals and salad. The sushi itself was phenomenal and on par with highly rated sushi places in downtown Chicago. The spicy tuna was nicely chopped, crunchy asparagus, eel sauce, cream cheese and crunch on top. The whole roll is deep friend in tempura and made the experience even better. The roll was amazing and drizzled with spicy mayo. You must check this place out if you are nearby.

Small place. I enjoyed the sushi but felt like it was a bit over priced compared to other places in the area for what you got.

We normally go to Ramen Misoya or Chicago Ramen, both great options with vegan and "halal" options…read more I saw this on some Chicago Halal Foodies reel and decided want in. I got take out and everything was well packaged and remained hot after it got to it's final destination about 1h away. My partner is vegan and enjoyed the vegan option. It wasn't anything fancy however most places slap vegan after taking things out and you pay the same price. This place more or less built the ramen with vegans in mind and so the ebb and flow of the ingredients worked out to be a delicious ramen dish. I had the spicy halal ramen, it was also delicious. We also got two halal chicken ramens which, you guessed it, was delicious. The broth wasn't as thick as ramen misoya or as light as chicago ramen. It was in between but actually really good and not as salty. We also got the spring rolls, sesame balls, and agedashu tofu which tasted well. The spring rolls and tofu weren't as crispy but it was a long trip so not on them. I could've sped, but I was getting great mileage. They still tasted great. Now this place also has Chinese dishes which makes it a great option when in the mood for various Asian cuisine and going to one shop. I forget the name of another joint in Chicago on the west side that does the same but it has all the things and it's great but that's an even further. Regardless everything we had was enjoyable and the halal chicken tasted significantly better than Ramen Misoya. It was seasoned very well. At Ramen Misoya, it's not "zabiha" but it's considered halal. I'll try to explain it as best and fast as I can. In Islam halal/haram means permissible/impermissible. Halal in terms of food mainly applies to fauna (i.e. animals, fish, insects, etc). For example corn, pineapple, bread, strawberries are exempt and are thus always halal. Zabiha is the term which means the animal was sacrificed, while being thankful for it, and a process was followed to ensure minimal pain and suffering and it was cleaned, prepped, etc properly. Basically to be thankful for what you have since you're benefiting from something living / cognizant and not just being flippant because it's livestock. Now for some animals in order for them to be edible, it has to be permissible (i.e. halal), as such it has to be Zabiha. However there are schools of thought where so long as the food you are about to receive and or consume isn't haram (i.e. pork) and it was given with pure intention, you can say "Bismillah" and enjoy your dish. Zabiha and halal are often conflated but I hope this explains why.

Out of the ramens we tried, the spicy miso and spicy tonkotsu (with kimchi) were our favorite! The regular tonkotsu was just missing a bit more flavoring. We visited on a weekday evening and while it got busy around dinner time, it didn't get too loud and the service was great. Our food items came out quickly and were very fresh! : crab rangoons, takoyaki, sesame balls, tonkotsu ramen

The crab Rangoon would have been better as a dine in option as it cooled a bit too much once it got home. Good flavor and loved the spicy dipping sauce (which is often watered down at other places). VERY generous portions of sushi. Tuna, salmon, and yellowtail all delicious. 3 rolls: Pink Lady, Crunchy Roll, and Sweetheart Roll. The first and last had their own special sauces to add, which we each delicious. The crunchy roll was the least interesting, though still tasty. I went with the bento box B with the teriyaki chicken, and I can't really pick a clear standout. The teriyaki chicken was cooked perfectly and just hit right, but the fried vegetables were just as impressive. Light, crispy, not greasy at all. And yes, I said vegetables... I know, right. They kind of balance each other out, and honestly both were equally good for different reasons. I also grabbed a side of crab rangoon and yeah... those were crazy good. Crispy outside, creamy inside, just straight addictive. Only complaint is you get three. That's it. I could've put down 30 without even thinking about it. What I really liked is this place doesn't try too hard. The food is clean, fresh, and consistent. You can tell they care about what they're putting out. It's not some flashy, overhyped sushi spot, it's just solid across the board. The space is smaller and more on the cozy side, which honestly works in its favor. Easy to relax, not loud or chaotic. Service was friendly and on point without hovering. Overall, this is exactly the kind of neighborhood spot you want. Good food, good people, and a vibe that keeps you coming back.
