I went here for dinner after being recommended by many people but was extremely disappointed. The sushi AYCE was mediocre and nothing remarkable. They were extremely busy to be fair but I don't think it excuses certain things. We had to wait 40+ minutes for our second round. I don't feel like they checked the quality of their fish. The raw salmon and tuna had a strange taste. Upon smelling it, it had a fishy odor and ammonia smell. And the color was off. They did not charge us for that but we got no apology or offer to rectify the situation as if it were a crime for us to bring up the quality of their food because they were busy. I threw up everything shortly after because I felt so sick. I like Abashiri. Abashiri is a restaurant that definitely got me through Covid. I ordered from them religiously during the lockdown and the food was delicious. I don't normally do their sushis, so I can't comment on those. I normally get their dinner sets. My favorite is the salmon teriyaki with tempura. It has a lot of variety and decent portions. The price is very reasonably priced. I still haven't gone inside the restaurant, so I can't comment on their ambiance or service, but the delivery packaging has always been good. They close at 10.00pm Friday and Saturday- and yet by 9.00pm We started being harassed by the waitresses who made it quite clear they wanted us out and to hurry up and argued that they wouldn't bring us any more food.... We ordered 6 rolls with all you can eat (for 2 people) and after waiting a long time only 4 rolls came out... no explanation on which rolls were which. We asked if we had 2 more rolls coming and they all had no idea what rolls were missing. Had to re-order more rolls which took 45 mins to come out. No wasabi or ginger either time. Then we inhaled the rolls because we'd be sitting at the restaurant for so long, we wanted to leave. When we ask for the bill, they help 2 delivery pickups first, then clean some tables, THEN bring us the bill. We paid in cash because god knows how long we would've had to wait to get the card ran. The ingredients they use are fresh and savory. There are so many rolls to choose from and they put pictures of the rolls on their menu, which is super helpful when trying to decide which rolls to order. This is our first time at this location since the COVID-19. The restaurant has an average size for small groups 2 to 8 people. The staff is friendly and helpful. They have buffet sushi during the week days, not the weekend. I'm glad they found the room for our group, more than 15 people next door. My guess the owner just modify a gym studio to a 2nd room for the restaurant. Still under construction. The sushi were fresh and delicious. What I love about this place is the rice to fish ratio (normally AYCE sushi places jam pack the rolls with enormous amounts of rice, but this place does thin layers of rice).
