Tom provided a detailed work order and contract, as well as a window of time when the work would be done. They finished on budget and within that time frame, and coordinated with our carpenters working on repairs. The crew arrived every day bright and early and well prepared for the work and it was amazing to watch their skill and artistry and see the progress each day. We had a 2-week job given the extent of the wear and damage on the house, there were whole sections of stucco missing, myriad holes in the walls, and extensive ivy growth. The crew added new stucco replete with the galvanized mesh wire, and made it match perfectly. The ivy had to be burned off with torches, which had to have been a tedious job, but they absolutely pulled it off. Likewise, a previous owner painted the stucco and much of this had to be scrapped and brushed off--like Tom says, "Don't paint your stucco!" They finished the work with a custom color of our choice and it was perfect. I know some reviews say that Tom can be brusque, though in my experience I found him to simply be no-nonsense and straightforward. It was always a pleasure talking with Tom as well as Eddie, and certainly Spiro who managed the worksite. I recommend Chicago Stucco especially for extensive jobs, and plan to work with them again in the future to stucco our garage. Check out the pictures to see their amazing work!

When I called tom to repair a crack in the stucco that was covered under the warranty he brushed it off saying someone would come take a look. While JJ wasn't the lowest, they were the most comprehensive. For example, all of the other quotes quoted the shingles and work, but JJ Construction quoted shingles, tiles, gutters, and all hardware (new fans/vents/gutters). They are highly skilled. They did not rush the project (who wants a roofer who rushes?) and cleaned up every day. Communication was excellent. They installed Class 4 shingles, which lowered my home owners insurance by 20%. Our building is the largest condo building in Oak Park, and it was built not quite 100 years ago. All brick and terra cotta, so one can imagine the restoration that needed to be done. Robert Reese may just be the most knowledgeable brick guy in the U.S., and no one takes brick and stone restoration more serious than he does. Add to this his experienced crew of workers, who are also experts in the field of brick and stone restoration, not to mention extremely courteous and down right friendly, and you have the best masonry company in all of Chicagoland. Called the office, told them we haven't heard from your rep. They informed me they would contact him right away so he could get in touch with us. Never heard anything back. I tried repeatedly to get in touch with someone for a quote! Imagine if I hired them and had to contact them about a problem. No thanks. Thanks for wasting three weeks of my time.

Sure, he did the repair and patched up a couple of other places for free, but he left a big patch of plaster on my front lawn that has since dried and has killed the grass underneath, he dug up a soaker hose that was attached to my regular hose and just left it out (that one baffles me), and there were dirty hand marks on my door and plaster bits on a wall where he wasn't working. He did the job, but left a big mess for me to clean up.
