Very nice person, but DO NOT waste any time or money here. My primary care physician recommended a…read moreDO--doctor of osteopathy, to help with my back spasms. I've never heard of this type of "doctor" before, but desperate for pain relief, I gave it a shot. James was very nice but I received ZERO treatment after an hour visit and was charged $380 (he doesn't take insurance). After 15 min of intake questions, I laid down on the treatment bed (standard chiropractor/doctor office looking bed). I laid on my back and for FORTY minutes, all he did was had his hand under my back and called that "treatment" and charged me $380. He was "reading energy with his hands". There was no treatment. Imagine if you laid down and someone put their hand under your back, shoulder and neck (and did nothing else; just still hands) and called that treatment. After 40 min, his "diagnosis" was "you're a strong person but your energy is not flowing" (QUOTE). It was silence the entire time, no explanation of any sort. Stillness and silence for 40 minutes. I cannot believe I just paid $380 for this. When he returned my call to make an appt, I happen to mention that my primary Dr. ran labs and I was slightly anemic. He ran with this piece of information the way a psychic runs with any seedling of info. He talked a lot about iron supplements and went on and on about iron, but had I not mentioned that, who knows how even more pointless this visit would have been. James says he does "Oesteopathic Manipulation Therapy" aka OMT--do not be fooled. He does not.

I'm a bad yelper, no update after my surgery!…read more Well, it was a resounding success! Best decision I ever made, hands down. My behind felt much better even in recovery than it had with the agonizing fistula that I had prior. The only thing I had no idea about was the anesthesia hangover. You may feel like you have been hit by a truck for a couple of days afterward. No need to fret, as this is totally normal. Surgery is still 100% worth it. Thank you again, Dr. Oommen, for giving me my life back. I will be forever grateful!

I said I needed the list because I have memory problems, yet he continued to pull both from my hands and snatched them out of my hands and said "You'll get them when I'm done." This was rude and very invasive to do to a patient. That consult was to go over info regarding a gallbladder removal surgery. I was in complete shock,as I was not expecting to be treated this way. I was very uncomfortable. He continued on with medical history questions and info regarding gallbladder as if he had done anything. Though I stated to him how what he did and how it made me feel,he kept insinuating it was all in my head & didn't apologize for his incredibly rude and unprofessional actions towards me. After that experience I physically do not feel comfortable with this sort of physician performing any surgery on me. I felt my personal space was violated. It was completely out of line for a surgeon that's been a doctor for so long to do towards a patient. I would not recommend anyone to see this doctor. Also, the staff is not very helpful or friendly.

I went with her and very clearly stated all of the issues in front of both my Mom and Donna S. Donna S suggested that her other doctors consider prescribing Donepezil - for memory issues and an amyloid blood test. However, when she went to Sherille Sevilla and Maridez Jenkins she does not remember all that was discussed and agreed. She tells them all that she was tired when she did the 3 hour assessment and it was not valid. I don't know why the doctors don't coordinate more and understand the report and all the notes. It is very clear from both the assessment and my statements to them that she has severe short term memory issues. The fact that instead of using the assessment and my very specific details they listen to her when she says that she is fine (because she does not remember anything) is just ridiculous. My understanding is that many of the prescriptions for memory only stop the progress. This means taking them sooner is better. This is not the first signs of memory issues for her at all. This has been ongoing and I finally had hope that doctors would help her and start addressing the issues. But they COMPLETELY FAILED us. Now I don't know what to do. She thinks everything is fine and it is truly terrible and sad. She was a college professor and incredibly smart. And her decline is awful - but made SO MUCH WORSE by doctors who do not coordinate and do not listen.

It is likely that the spine in my neck sustained significant damage which was discovered via MRI after the insurance case was closed. The spinal injury radiates down my shoulder. The first time I experienced this was right after the car accident. Now I am absorbing the cost of medical mistakes once again. So far it has cost me $3000 in lost wages and likely $8000 in medical cost. It will likely cost me several more thousands in lost wages. A simple 3 minutes assessment and some imaging would have prevent this. I just paid off another medical error that cost me $5000, that could have been prevented by a doctor at her practice. Her response-pay payments-knowing full well that I have previously experienced additional financial loss due to medical errors. It took me 6 years to go back to the doctor after the first experience, only to experience more preventable errors from her and her office. This, after another experience event under her care in which my records are false causing more harm- emotionally, physically, and financially. Correct medical records could have help me recover emotionally, physically, and financially from previous medical errors. She said she wanted to advocate for me and help. The next breath she threw me under the bus. She was angry how I was treated by previous providers, then turns around and does the same thing, but worse. On a level from 1-10 mental anguish due to medical errors and lack of accountability from those who brush off valid concerns and cause intentional additional trauma is about 10000000/10. I am so done absorbing the cost of incompetence. I really wish we had a competent medical board in CA to take valid concerns.

Dr. Manney is the real thing in osteopathy!…read more I'm familiar with this medical care office through being a patient of the other DO at this site. Once when she was not available, I 'tried' Dr. Manney. I was very happy with the results: relaxation of my injured muscles, meaning the nerves finally were relaxing more, overall sense of wellness. She has good bedside manner, is informative when I had questions, but not chatty. When I go for a treatment, I want to focus on breathing and being "in" my body, relaxing, and really getting the full benefit of the treatment. Sometimes I get distracted and start talking. She did not interfere with my experience in that way. She has a lovely touch and seems very knowledgeable about the body and the practice of osteopathy. Thank you Dr. Manney!

I decided to try osteopathy, and booked a session with Avon. Wow! In one session, my neck felt completely different! Though the work was subtle and gentle, I could tell that I was in the hands of a skilled healer and that changes were taking place. After the session was over, my neck was so much more limber and fluid, and the pain was gone. I know the scope of her work is much broader than just musculoskeletal issues, but on that score alone, she gets my highest recommendation. If you're suffering from musculoskeletal pain and tension, go see Avon. She's the real deal.
