The meats are all smoked right in front of the store. Delicious! Try it with all of the homemade sauces - the Volcano sauce was my personal favorite. Delicious! We flew in from Phoenix today and had a fun afternoon visiting a brewery and driving around taking in the views. I looked for some inexpensive dinner places around the hotel and Lilo's fit the bill. The staff was super friendly. Fiancé and I shared The Big Kahuna plate and it was DELICIOUS. Each of the meats (chicken, pork, beef) were yummy, cooked to perfection and topped with an appropriate amount of sauce. The sticky rice was great and the mac salad was amazing. Ew. No flavor. Not EVEN what real kalua pork tastes like. You have to drown it in bbq sauce. The macaroni is better than Safeway, though. The garnish,a pinneapple triangle , was 3mm thin and wasnt ripe. The sticky rice was not made with any salt, water only. If u eat only bland food with no flavor, no salt, no seasonings, eat here. It is crock pot pork made with nothing but air. Dry. And the bbq sauce was below par. Dirty tables, there wasn't any silverware left . At least they put cantaloupe slices in the rusty tasting water. read more

Absolutely amazing! Super Authentic Huli Chicken tasted just like the Huli in Maui. Instead of Mac salad, Mark whipped up a quick spinach and carrot salad with rice wine vinegar. The poor kid behind the counter had no help! Manning the BBQ, taking orders, cooking, serving and cleaning! He did a good job but this place needs to be staffed better! Food was pretty good, but my Huli chicken leaked through the wax paper lining of the basket and dripped meat and soy juice all over my clothes. I would've given it a better rating except for that! Finally made it in for the first time. Great lunch today. The kahlua pig was excellent and for 7 bucks you can't beat it. Simple menu with quality meat, soba noodles, rice, macaroni salad. 3 way mix of sauces, volcano, bbq and teriyaki was perfect. Pay attention to these good reviews and ignore dudes like daddy who obviously have no taste...you can't please everyone that's for sure. These guys are doing a great job. The Big Kahuna - tons of food and the meat selection was fantastic. Mix that with some white rice and their homemade pasta salad and you have quite the meal. The "Kahlua pig" is smoked pork with ketchup and the "haupia" is vanilla pudding with shredded coconut and pineapple chunks. I was excited when Lilo's opened but unless they stop cutting corners or at least reduce the price along with the quality, I won't be going back. read more

The food was absolutely delicious! I had the pulled prol sandwich I believe it was on a Chiabatta bun with coleslaw and of course the pork. I added a lot of their honey BQQ sauce because I personally love a lot of sauce, and it was unbelievable. Lilo was so, so good! We were looking for a place to have dinner before heading back to our campsite. This most definitely hit the spot. We had the kaluha pig and the ginger beef, with macaroni salad and streamed broccoli... tasty and delicious! We got there close to closing and they were out of rice, but they promptly offered another side in place. They even gave me an extra side for free when there was a bit of miscommunication. Since I live on Oahu I am very critical mainland Hawaii restaurants. But I was very surprised to find that Lilo's greatly meet my expectations! Meals are served Hawaiian plate lunch style with rice and mac salad. I had the ginger beef and it was excellent. Third time in... food is solid. No complaints there. Chicken is flavorful, juicy, tasty mac salad, white rice. Boom. Winner. My issue has been service. They are very nice, polite, friendly, but 2 out of the 3 times they made me the wrong plate (really??) The third time they simply forgot my order. Again, the food is fine, though I found the Pork to be quite dry (ate it anyways). The issue appears to be they are more interested in socializing with other employees/friends then staying focussed on work... I realize Lilo's is going for the whole "Island vibe" thing, but for me, I would appreciate it if the crew could dial it in just a bit more. read more

Stopped in here our way to Lost Lake instead of getting shitty food at DQ or someplace that would sell us "food," Nope, Lilo's has good signage and a great location right on the way into or out of town. I'm from Maui and my fiance and I had just gotten back from the islands last month so we had proper Hawaiian food in our minds from Kihei's Da Kitchen...the guy at the place was friendly, offered to split our plate lunch into two portions and let us sample some POG while we waited. The food was hot and ready within minutes and aside from being as delicious as it is back home, was garnished with a slice of fuckin pineapple...not that that's a huge thing, you know though...details man, details. A meat-lover's paradise. Yum. Just. Yum. For smaller eaters, order a 'large' portion and split. I see some reviews recommend beef over chicken or vice versa.
