Table was clean but sticky. I had to clean it properly myself.

Second time here. Table was clean but I noticed it was shiny so upon closer inspection it was actually sticky.

Big Kohuna, after we've had some already.

We're traveling for our own 2025 Jubilee Pilgrimage, my husband and I, and we stopped in The Dalles for lunch, on our way to SE USA, destination of our pilgrimage. We wanted something 'beef' and Lilo's popped up on YELP and it was highly rated. The menu items were explained carefully by staff, we selected what we wanted and decided to take out and had a very nice picnic in our car. We ordered the Big Kohuna: chicken, pork, beef, 2 scoops rice, two scoops of macaroni. And pineapple, guava and orange drink. Everything tasted has one would expect from a Hawaiian restaurant. It was all good! Next time: I'll order the Bento! The restrooms were quite clean.

Ordered to pick up. Cute place. Nice greeting. Poke was good. Reasonable in price with portion. Sub salad vs macaroni. Second entree chicken teriyaki. My guest said it was okay. Nice portion. I'd try the pork next visit. Easy street parking. Order ready on time.

Cheeseburger with Krinkle cut Fries... This burger was pretty good. It definitely hit the spot.

When: Saturday, April 27th; Party of 2 Adults, 1:00 pm Ambiance: When my wife and I arrived for a late lunch, this eatery was full with patrons dining on their Saturday lunches. It was a mixed crowd of families with children and couples. There is ample seating for about 30+ guests. Parking is primarily on-street parking. There is a public parking lot about a couple of blocks away. Service: Staff member upfront was efficient and cordial. She took your order and brought it out to your table when it was ready. She also picked up empty dishes & cups and wiped the tables. Hint: when your done eating & drinking, clean-up of after your done and bring your baskets and cups to the trash bin and utility cart. (That's the Hawaiian way). Food: My wife ordered the Teri Chicken plate and I ordered a Cheeseburger & Fries basket. My wife asked me: "Why did you order Cheeseburger and Fries, when you can get that anywhere". That is true, but as a former Island of Oahu resident, some of the best places to have burgers is at these Hawaiian eateries. Lilo's Cheeseburger & crinkle cut fries did not disappoint, it definitely hit the spot.

Best hawaiian BBQ in the area. Great flavor and simply delicious well smoked meats. Some good sauces to accompany and of course the Mac salad. Oh yeah!

I was excited to try this place but was bummed with the service (grumpy guy at register for no apparent reason) and quality of the Huli Huli chicken. I guess I expected slow cooked shredded protein but got a smoked thigh that was rubbery at best. Rice was over cooked but the Mac salad was the saving grace. Felt the price was ok but it would be hard for me to come back again. Felt dark an uninviting when I walked in. Hope others have a better experience. I like what The Dalles is doing and give a lot of credit to business owners coming in to bring new things to the downtown area.

I had the steak sandwich. I'm not a fan of whole large pieces of steak in my sandwich. I like when the meat is chopped up for easier eating. I found it a little difficult to eat this sandwich. I took one bite and a large piece of steak came out. I got the regular sauce and that was a little sweet for me. The pork and the mac salad were both good. Busy place. Nice vibe and food was good. Just my personal preference on the steak sandwich.

So's we gave it a whirl because of it's rating. Those ratings may have been done by the operators of dis joint. They aren't right. We ordered and da palooka that takes the orders didn't have any decaf. He didn't have any root beer. Seems easier to say what he didn't have than what he did. I got a soda that was caffeine free and just hadda couple swings, I avoids sugar. I know, I know shoulda had water as usual. A BLT is usually safe. But I doesn't eat salt as a rule and never caffiene. Sometimes as a "treat" if yas get my drift. I look at the ingredient list and it seemed pretty safe and I felt like being treated. So's the fake Italian sandwich shows up and the "home made mayo" is not mayo, it's some spicy crapola I can't eat that's supposed to be a ringer for mayo. If yas hasn't figured it out yet Hammer is a picky eater and drinker. I don't eat anything spicy. I don't like it. Want to be certain yas totally destroy a sandwich. Spread something on it that's horrid. That oughta do it. We never saw the sap that took our order after he brought the fake Italian food. In a "real" restaurant the server comes an' checks ta see if yas needs anything or how that grub is. My skirt ate what they brought her and said it was marginal but nutt'in to write home about. She was hungry. I wiped off the bacon much as I could and ate around da rest staying away from the terrible fake mayo much as possible. Didn't amount to much that was edible. I wanted to get "on the road again" or I would have helped out more with the improvement of this con joint. As a rule I won't pay 44 bucks for food I won't eat. I promise I don't tip when I already feel like I was misinformed about the food and robbed already. We just scrammed outta there. When will be be back? Easy peasy NEVER!

Ask specifically at least three times that we wanted tomatoe slices on both sandwiches. Neither had tomatoes. More on this under service. Both, regular customer eaters, said "something is missing" as the sandwiches tasted "tastsless" from the past. The lettuce, mayo mixture seemed to have no mayo and no flavor. Positive: the fries were excellent and so was the lemonaid. Serivce: NONE Asked for a couple slices of tomato and was told I could only get that if I paid for a side dish! I was too blown away to even argue. If the server, with a bad attitude, could not spare two slices of tomato (even if I was wrong) to keep a life long customer (50 years) and a good review, then something is seriously going wrong with this business. No one ever came by our table and asked if we needed anything, boxes, drink refills, nothing. NO SERVICE Ambiance: everything we expected and we are pleased with it.

Currently listed at $15, it comes with double rice, double mac, a slice of pineapple, pulled pork, beef ribs, and barbecue chicken. The Big Kahuna is probably the best value on the menu. For me personally, it's big enough to split, or to feed me for a whole day. While I loved the Big Kahuna, I'm not really a big fan of pulled pork. The third time I came in, I ordered the Ginger Beef. I liked it, but honestly not as much as any of the three meats that came with the Big Kahuna. The next two times, I ordered the large teriyaki chicken with extra sauce, to go. The flavor is basic in the best way possible. It's not necessarily interesting or innovative, but is exactly what I expect when I think of good teriyaki chicken. It's tender, flavorful, and perfectly charred. The pulled pork tastes like it was cooked in a slow cooker, or via some kind of process that took a very long time. It just falls apart in your mouth. The rice and mac are also plain in the best way possible. Traditional and plain, but still perfectly done. This has become my favorite lunch spot in Hood River. It's hard to not eat here every day.

The meat had a nice smoky char and a sweet-salty glaze (from the smoker outside). Not served piping hot, but still reason temperature, not super-tender either though. One piece had a slightly acrid taste, probably over smoked, but the rest was solid. The rice was standard. The mac salad was chilled, creamy, and well balanced--mayo-based with shreds of carrot, bits of green onion, and a light touch of pepper. Overall, a classic Hawaiian plate lunch.
