I took our dogs all over McKinney, Allen, Plano & Frisco trying to find a groomer who could SAFELY AND PROPERLY handle TRULY deshedding winter coated dogs before I found Legacy Grooming. I love that the owners are husband & wife and that they are the ones grooming dogs too so it's not just a rotating door of "lightly experienced people who wash dogs" but experienced owners & a very small staff who remember you, your dogs and most importantly your dogs personality. We have been seeing them for almost 4yrs and have brought in a total of 11 dogs. 5 of my own dogs and 6 foster dogs. PERSONAL DOGS & with winter coats 3 of the 5 of my dogs are winter and/or long coats that require special attention and should NEVER, for the health and safety of their coat, be trimmed or shaved. EVER. 2 Siberian Huskies and a Great Pyrenees Which multiple previous groomers "who specialized in winter coats" suggested be done. So finding Legacy Grooming was heaven sent bc I HATE hair (ya I know) & waisting money on poorly de-shed dogs was super frustrating. They also took care of my senior dog with amazing care. At about 8-9yrs old grooming can become very hard because of the stress on the dog so they were amazing about scheduling him on quieter week day appointments so it would be less stressful, and though we have lost our oldest pup since, I'll always be so grateful to them for handling him care bc I was always so dang fearful of trimming an older dogs nails especially since he had black nail beds. FOSTER RESCUE DOGS Because we had had such amazing experiences with our personal dogs once we started fostering I had a chat with the owners about bringing in my foster dogs for just basic washes and nail trims. Not so much bc they needed it but bc it is so important to get dogs acclimated to those services so as they grow older their fur-ever homes would have an easier time continuing them. Thankfully they have amazingly good prices so I was able to do that for our fosters. Of course just like our personal dogs, when I picked them up, there were zero signs of fear or anxiety which means they were on the right path for the future thanks to Legacy's entire staff. This is definitely my fur-EVER groomer!

KIM - AMAZING JOB!!!…read more I had an amazing interaction with everyone at the McKinney location! Kim was my groomer, and she worked on my specialty breed, Lagotto Romagnolo, puppy. AMAZING JOB!!! Kim took the time to research my breed because she had never cut this breed, and she worked to correct a previously incorrect cut from a different business. Also to note, this is a full scissor cut breed that doesn't get blown out. I appreciate her sooooo much! I have definitely found my new groomer AND treat place for my sweet pup! Awesome and natural treats and all sorts of goodies, truly a place worth going.....THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!!!

Other places, don't have the attention, facilities, and in many ways, personalized attention we receive at the Rover Resort. We leave them with the peace of mind that they will be treated as guests at the resort and not just as another boarding place. The staff is amazing, they are customer oriented, respectful with their guests and owners and overall, you can see and feel their goodwill and commitment to ensure our pets have the best experience. Our puppies are now much older, and they are treated with love and care. As long as we are allowed to enjoy our puppies, we will have them stay at Rover Resort. This way, we can enjoy our vacation with peace of mind. They really are the best of the best.

When we got home, I discovered a small puncture wound under her chin and abrasions across her belly. I immediately contacted David, the owner of Mutt Puddle, and expected a genuine concern for my dog and an effort to make things right. Instead, I received a lengthy email focused on a "miscommunication" regarding the grooming but no concern for my injured baby. Heartless attitude! I wasn't looking for a fight or making an unreasonable inquiry. To me, the solution was simple: acknowledge that my dog was injured, show some concern, and offer any kind of refund as a gesture of doing good business. This experience was extremely upsetting for our family. Our Maltese, Tina, is very tiny, well behaved, and very vulnerable. Now I worry how this experience wiill affect her with another groomer. Today I was notified that Mutt Puddle removed my Yelp review (prior to this one). I decided to re-write this, a lot less details, and take back my voice. This was a first hand experience, my dog, her injuries, my communication with the salon, and their response. I wasn't repeating something I heard from someone else. A negative review may be uncomfortable, but when something goes wrong, I believe a business should address the customer with a solution rather than work really hard at making the negative reviews disappear. My WARNING is simple: Before trusting this grooming salon with your dog, read their negative reviews everywhere you can. Positive reviews are easy to write, negative reviews tell you more about their business ethics. I learned the hard way that they hide behind policies created to protect them, including harm & death while in their care. Read their policies, then decide if something like this happens to you, would you be okay if they handled your situation like they did mine? Although all pet salons like Mutt Puddle are not regulated by the state of Texas nor require a license.. take the time to find a salon that does hire groomers who invest in their tools and earn certifications in their trade. Although it may not be fancy it is very homie and they take great care of their dogs and have a great staff of washers and groomers Regina has groomed our dog Honey for 11 years. I would have nobody else groom her. Once we found out that Regina had left the Mutt Puddle we immediately followed her as you should if she was previously grooming your dog. Every single time I tried to schedule a groom or boarding, there were issues. What should have been a simple process turned into a drawn-out, frustrating experience with poor communication and no clear answers. To make things worse, after multiple attempts to get something scheduled, they claimed they "didn't like my tone" and refused to allow me to make a reservation at all. I've never experienced anything like that. Instead of trying to resolve the situation or help a customer, they chose to shut the door completely. Customer service is where they completely fall apart. Responses are slow, often rude or dismissive, and there's zero sense of urgency or accountability. It genuinely feels like they don't value their customers. At this point, it's hard to tell if they even care about having customers at all, let alone new ones. Do yourself a favor and avoid 2nd Family Dog at all costs. There are plenty of other businesses out there that will treat you with respect and actually make the process easy.
