I can't believe I hadn't written a review for this place here sooner. I thought I had years ago. I've been using Lily Pad Floral for South Bay flower arrangements and gifting to people for more than 12 years now. Their arrangements are just simply beautiful and wonderful. She uses quality blooms and I often leave it to her to make the design, and will simply provide the color scheme I'm looking for. It's been my staple florist for deliveries to Palos Verdes, Torrance and the beach cities. My prior employer in the south bay used to order from them frequently as well. I was looking for a local florist to decorate the reception place in Redondo Beach and I found her less than one month before my wedding day. I placed an order with Rebecca over the phone for delivery to a dear friend in the area while I was 3000 miles away in Boston, and the order went without a single hitch. Rebecca let me know which orchid arrangements were available on her site so I could get a live preview, then I got back to her the next day and let her know I was interested in adding carnations to the delivery as well, and she happened to be at the flower market during our call and added a dozen carnations right then and there, with my color of choice. She delivered the next day (only $8 delivery fee) with a note that I spelled out then confirmed via text message, working within my budget of $100. Can't recommend this place enough, definitely my go-to if I ever need another delivery in the Redondo Beach/LA area. read more

We hired Rebecca a year ahead of our wedding as she came highly recommended by friends and family. In the end, the florals turned out beautifully and you can't deny her talent, but where she fell incredibly short for us was in customer service, organization, and kindness. Upfront we gave her a mood board, photos of the venue, estimated guest count, number in the wedding party, estimated tables, rows, etc and were quoted at a price that seemed fair. The first time we met in person, we were told she would have a centerpiece for us to take a look at and a few options of colors to play around with. However, when we showed up she apologized that she was low on stock and we didn't have much to look at. We went over the estimate to finalize a few things, but she spent a majority of the time talking about how busy she was and all the events she was responsible for, leaving us feeling incredibly unimportant. Flash forward to a few weeks later, we met at the venue to walk through and discuss the final vision. She showed up with a centerpiece that was gorgeous yet completely off the color scheme. We had discussed that we wanted fall colors including ivories, deep burgundies, burnt oranges and general darkness overall with a splash of blush where appropriate. She showed up with bright summery true reds and oranges. We gave her feedback and she said she would make a revised arrangement later that week. She told us she was going to go to the flower market and send us more options and then the day she was supposed to she texted and said she had no orders and wasn't going to go which was frustrating and stressful. Another week went by and she finally went to the flower mart and sent over a revised arrangement which we felt looked great and we were relieved to feel like we were mostly aligned at this stage. We eventually received a revised estimate and the price had DOUBLED. I wrote out exactly what had changed in the list from our original estimate and questioned why it had gone up so much. Her response was that the price of florals had gone up in general (which was understandable), but also that the "flowers we chose" were expensive. To be clear, we did not specifically choose any flowers nor mandate them. I had to pry and ask her to problem solve with me and provide recommendations and was googling flower types and asking her about them since she showed zero initiative to help. I needed her as the expert to let me know which flowers existed in the color scheme to talk about them. After much back and forth she shared them with me without indicating they were high or low in price. I am not a florist nor expert, how am I to guess the prices? Somehow in the end, the flowers I chose still made it into the arrangements and she was able to knock the price down a bit - still much higher than estimated. I would understand if I had doubled the amount of tables or made major changes from the get go, but that was not the case at all. Less than 1 week before our wedding, we never saw a final arrangement which is unheard of. She shared a previous version image and a writeup of what else she was going to add. We also had a confusing exchange 4 days before the wedding which left me incredibly upset. She sent me an invoice with final flower choices we agreed on one night, then in the morning began texting me photos of other flowers we had not talked about for me to review. When I said I didn't like them and I was uncomfortable not having agreed on flowers before she placed an order for them, I was asked "what did I want from her" and was told to "let her do her job". I simply explained that I was confused and she said I am not changing the flowers from last nights estimate. How does that make sense when you're texting me pictures the next day of other ones I've never seen? That weekend at the wedding she came in, dropped the flowers without saying much, and just left. Didn't even set up the groomsmen just said "they're labeled in the box here you go" and bounced. My coordinator had to chase her down because we had agreed the mothers would get corsages (especially as one is handicapped and cant carry flowers) and she showed up with nosegays. She said "sorry I was told nosegays I have nothing to help tie them onto wrists" and drove off. Very unreliable, confusing, and unpleasant overall. We have been nothing but kind, patient, and understanding throughout the entire process only to be met with unprofessionalism. We regret not going with the other florist options as their prices were better and they were much more organized and kind and collaborative. If you are looking for a florist that you want to have minimal communication with and to just come up with something beautiful and drop it off she's your girl. read more

I feel horrible for taking too much time to write a review for Rebecca and Lily Pad Floral. We were recommended by our wedding planner to see Rebecca after visiting a few other places our venue recommended. Immediately, we felt the difference with Rebecca. She listened to us, understood our budget and agreed our venue was beautiful and didn't need a lot of flowers. She got our nerdy, Lord of the Ring look we were after and gushed when I showed her my lightsaber bouquet holder. She told us about how her brother was going to love this wedding since he's into the things we were. Rebecca is AMAZING. Her talent is unlike any other I have ever seen. I have been ordering flowers for YEARS in the South Bay and have never seen quality, attention to detail and talent quite like Rebecca. I found Rebecca on yelp and we met and I knew she was the one to help me with my vision. Not only were her flowers beautiful but for the arrangements and types of flowers I wanted she was affordable. Rebecca is a sweetheart and she has so many ideas. One of my must-haves was pearls. I had another florist tell me he couldn't incorporate pearls into the vases like I wanted but Rebecca was so excited and found pearls strung on wire and put them in the tall centerpieces! I will have pictures posted soon. I was also impressed with her knowledge of flowers and all their names! I thought roses were just called roses but they all have different names depending on color.
