So.. I have been hungry for real Chinese food, not a buffet run by Non Asians. I went into Lilly Queen at 430. Door was locked. Had to knock to get ket in. Very nice people! Coming from Midwest, I ordered Almon Chicken, Pepper Steak, chicken Fried rice spicy and an egg roll. Paid for my bill and waited in my car. I only live 13 city blocks away. Only thing that was hot was the pepper steak. Egg roll bout half size of twinkle, chicken fried rice, smelled and tasted like fish broth. Chicken almond should of been called chop suey. Beef in pepper steak was pretty good. It was the rest of the meal that ruined it all. I am so sorry for theses people, I spoke with the woman who said they been doing this for 35 years, she wants to retired. Her husband wants to continue to work. I'm new to Paris, Texas. I found this Chinese restaurant and went in at 5:00 pm. It is take out only. The food is very good, and very friendly owner. I will definitely eat from here again. I have enough left over for a full meal tomorrow. read more

I've been a fan of Lilly Queen since I was in high school, roughly back to 1998. I've also compared chinese food in China Town New York, China Town LA, Chicago's China Town, and Boston's and Seattle's asian districts. I grew up here in Paris Texas and have always known that China Star is "the place" to eat Chinese food. But I was never impressed with them (I'm fairly picky). It isn't "bad" food, just not excellently home-cooked Chinese recipes. The family that owns Lilly Queen is friendly and keep their food authentic, though remain mindful of how Americans like their "Chinese" food. Their traditional dishes like Beef/Broccoli, Mongolian Beef, House Fried Rice, Seafood Delight, and Sesame Chicken will be the best in Lamar County. If you want OVER-Americanized dishes, then the Panda Express chain is your best bet. If you want decent food with a buffet I'd suggest Golden China over China Star. China Star is just what folks in this town are "used to" having. But it is actually pretty poor food, in the grand scheme of things. Lilly Queen used to have a buffet, but no longer do. As other reviews have mentioned, the atmosphere is not classy. However, again, if you've visited ANY major China Town in the US, from New York to LA, you'll know what I mean when I say "this place has an authentic, home-style, traditional, Chinese atmosphere." lol. It's like a snapshot of a Chinese market area. This is what a good Chinese restaurant is SUPPOSED to look like (kinda crummy, dingy, stale, musky, dark/dim, etc.) My partner is also of Chinese decent and Lilly Queen is the only place in Paris he wants Chinese from. We ordered for pick up as we are too far out for delivery. We had chicken fried rice and generals chicken. My grandson took his first bite and got a long nasty hair. The receipt said 36$ but our bank account says they charged 44$. We called and all they did was yell at us for complaining. The food was mediocre at best. read more

I just love this place , always nice and make my order right I am a picky eater and they have no problem fixing it .

I did not know this place was still open. The food is not the worst in town and they are centrally located, but the choices are limited. They deliver so that's a plus in thier fact but it would be just as good as something from the freezer section at a grocery store. read more

I can't believe it has been 2.5 years since a review. This is really good Chinese food. I ordered from the menu, was the only person dining in early on a Thursday evening. The staff was nice, and the service good. I would recommend it. The building is not exciting but I don't care. I took a take out menu and plan to try the take out soon. They claim to deliver also. How can anyone rate this place above 1 star, if there was a lower score I would give it. I ordered delivery to a local hotel (out of town) and the person taking the order was extremely rude (kept saying "no credit cards, no credit cards") this should have been "my sign". Delivery person did not come to the room, instead went to the front desk and told them to call me "because I owed him money". Front desk called me and said he knew me and to come down. When there he said "Hey G! what's up!) I asked who he was and he rudely responded from Lily Queen and I ordered food and owed him money. Okay, 'second sign". I asked him why he did not bring the food to the room and he responded "I have been walking all day and I am tired". Judging from the size of him I wondered why he did not walk from OK because he certainly needed the exercise. In short, he scared the front desk women, I told him his actions were not funny as he thought they were and that he would not be allowed back on the premises (Hotel agreed). Food, beyond bad, after I had the nerve to taste considering the actions of the order taker and delivery person.
