We had electric blinds installed for three hard to reach windows, 7 manual blinds for 7 sliding doors, and at least 10+ blinds for windows. Basically, the entire 1st and 2nd floors received new blinds. The day of installation, a team of three installed all of this, working around several movers (it was our moving day) and around boxes upon boxes. They had to install blinds above a stairway (I suggested to go out on the roof which they did) and they were courteous and professional. The electric blinds have a remote control, which is awesome because the windows are 15 ft off the ground. They also refused to take a tip!

We have a sunroom that needed shades but we knew we'd have limited options with this particular room, and Bill was extremely knowledgeable and upfront about what would work best for us. His installation team was excellent too!Everyone was so nice and friendly, but even more important they did great work. There was 1 shade that was not the right size and Bill and his team corrected it within just a few days without any issues. They took the time to make sure we were happy with everything and that we knew how to charge the motorized shades and operate the remote for them. We highly recommend Bill and his team!

I am so thankful for the recommendation because the process was so easy and affordable, compared to other window treatment companies, through North Shore Shutters. I contacted Bill who was easy to communicate with and scheduled for an estimate. I highly appreciate his straightforward personality and unapologetic honesty. He knows he has a great product and provides incredible prices; he doesn't have to sell you on anything. He didn't try to upsell me and informed me of my options that gave me more bang for my buck. For example, he told me that he has a team that could install the shades (for a very reasonable price) but if someone in the house was handy and as long as we knew how to use a drill, we could install the shades ourselves. He was right, the shades weren't difficult to install. With the right drill bit and a charged drill, it only took a couple of hours to install 9 shades. Bill informed me of a promotional North Shore Shutters was offering over the summer that was still running, free upgrade for Bottom Up Top Down shades. These cellular shades are quality! They are lightweight but sturdy and look so beautiful in our home. The room darkening shades do a great job of keeping our bedroom dim in the morning where we have two East facing windows. If you're looking for competitive prices, call Bill, the price for all 9 shades was incredible! After accepting the proposal and once the invoice was paid for (happened all on the same day), it took 2 weeks for the blinds to arrive. I highly recommend Bill and North Shore Shutters, I would request their services again if I was ever in need again but I have a feeling these shades will never need to be replaced as long as we never move.

This price included $100 to go above three elevator floors. My question was, if you put all your material in the elevator, what's the difference if you go to the second floor or the eighth floor? The more difficult part is getting whatever you need into the elevator. The stipulation was that anything above the third floor was an additional $100, which I refused to pay. Hornak Exteriors recommended Ewald Interiors and all I had to do was take a picture of my window and forward it to them for a quote, which was so convenient. No nonsense about what floor you're on. The person sent to do the job was great, his name is Josh. Josh uninstalled the shutters and after the window installation, he reinstalled the shutters. He was always on time, worked in a timely and clean manner and the shutters look great. Anything needed or any questions, Levi responded immediately. Everyone there was great. Thanks to Ewald for keeping it simple with no bogus charges and really great work!

This project included painting some slatted sliding doors, which house our furnace and hot water heater. We also wanted to get 4-inch plantation shutters installed on all of our downstairs windows and in our master bedroom. We also had a few miscellaneous things that the owner said they could help with, including fixing some molding that our previous floor/door installers had left off/too short. The work was scheduled quickly. The painters were so friendly and nice. My elderly dog got sick and they called me at work and let him outside to go potty. The were pretty good with what they painted, but I soon noticed after they left that there was paint splattered on random things--fine sprays of paint on the side of a cabinet, drips on my winter coat hanging in the laundry room, the floors, hardware of the slatted doors, drips between the slats, etc. The molding they had made to fix a previous contractor's boo-boo not only looked awkward, it also wasn't painted. I wish I had said it looked bad at the time he'd shown me before install, but I wasn't really sure how it was going to look after he'd put it in. I'm fairly sure the owner said they'd fix the other door with the same molding issue, but because it wasn't specified on their invoice, I didn't bother to say anything because after all, I wasn't happy with the other one. The shutter installer came a few weeks after the painters once the product arrived. He told me he realized only had received product for one window and the other product needed to be tracked down. Within a few days, it was found and we scheduled another installation date. He came and installed the rest. My husband was home and working and didn't realize that the dining room was missing the split at the 42" mark so we let in light without losing privacy. They came back out again to quickly adjust the shutters. Ewald Interiors came recommended on Facebook to us. Pricing was reasonable based on other quotes we'd received. The house looks better. I love my shutters. I've cleaned up the paint I can. I continue to hate the molding. Would anyone else really notice? Probably not. Would I use Ewald Interiors again? Also, probably not.
