Spicy chicken burrito bowl
Dyamond D.

This place isn't bad at all, but I don't think I would come back with the other options I have access to as they are preferable. I noticed in a comment that someone said their food is halal and if so I think this would be a great option for those who can't eat at other tex-mex inspired locations. I got a bowl and it was less food than I thought it would be. I got the spicy chicken and it seems to have been marinated, I wasn't fond of it as the flavor is conflicting. Regardless I wouldn't say this is a bad place or the food is bad - I'm hoping it was just a mediocre run in. I would like to come back and give it another try as they had multiple options on their menu.

A solid addition to the food scene in North Babylon. Food: 4/5 - Good selection of serving styles and ingredients. Food was well prepared. Tasty. Nice variety of sauces. I ordered the steak burrito. There were 3 spoonfuls of steak added. (They didn't skimp.) I left full. Was served with a side of tortilla chips. Food could have been a tad hotter but it was hot enough not to be an issue. Service: 4/5 - Friendly greeting by manager/owner. Made some polite chit-chat while preparing. Informed us of the mon-thu lunch special of $7.99! There were about 3 people working, one cooking, and two preparing orders and helping customers. I visited at lunch time during the week. Food was prepared quickly. No followups to ask how things were. An important step for a new establishment. Atmosphere: 3/5 - Not bad but nothing exciting either. There is no vibe or music. It doesn't seem like a Mexican place frankly. Seating is limited. There are about 4 tables but more can be added in the future. Cleanliness 4/5 - Everything was clean as a new place should be. Workers were wearing hats and gloves but the manager/owner was not and was handling food. Kitchen is in full view of the patron's so that's a positive. You can see the conditions that the food is being prepared. No digestive issues afterwards -- an indication that things are being stored / cooked properly. Value 5/5 - $7.99 for a lunch special is good! It's normally $9.99 for the burrito bowl and depending on your proteins it can cost a $1 or $2 more. They take mobile payments. Guac is extra. Parking 2/5 - Very tight small lot. It gets crowded at peak times. Getting in and out of the lot can be challenging sometimes. Overall - 4/5 - A very good meal and decent service. Cheaper than across the street at Guac Time with a similar setup. Guac Time gives you a bit more food but costs considerably more. Better service than Guac Time. That said I left full and satisfied. Recommendation To The Owner: Consider improving the seating area with branding, color, etc. Watch the temperature on the tray's that hold the food for preparation. Dial them up a little bit. I'll be back.

I stopped in here after looking for vegan options in the area. After looking at the build your own burrito bowl options, I was very excited about the variety of fresh ingredients. Everything from the staff to the food was amazing! I highly recommend this place and will definitely be returning. P.s. the prices were amazing! $9.99 for a burrito and a water under 3 dollars is almost unheard of!

I had the burrito bowl with steak. Everything was good and tasted fresh. Steak was also tender, and not chewy, which was a pleasant surprise, wish it was slightly more flavorful tho. Areas where I think they can improve is the cheese, it was processed flavorless shredded cheese and I personally like the one chipotle uses better. Also, their queso, which was 3 bucks i think for a side, was extremely disappointing, a bright neon orange, basically like the velveta cheese u get in a can, not creamy either, again chipotle does it way better. Also, am disappointed that they are a halal restaurant but do not advertise it??? not on their socials, not on their menu, and not anywhere in the front or inside the store. I learned it was halal from a 3rd party instagram account, which shouldn't be the case. Would've given 4 stars if it wasnt for that

The food was average at best. Chicken a little dry. Was expecting a little more due to ratings.

Unique and tasted even better when you poured on the side of au jus that we had to remind them to bring over. Didn't have reservations but we were seated immediately and the place was packed. Very nice atmosphere, modern layout. Definitely will go back to try some other menu items like the short rib grilled cheese, or their meatball salad both sound delicious.

We gave a phone number and walked to another restaurant in case a table opened up faster there. While we were waiting at the other place, the hosts at BS contacted us and said we're next for a table so we walked back. When we got there, there were two groups waiting and one of them were called to get seated. We asked how much longer and the hosts said that we had to wait another 15 minutes because they had to accommodate a reservation. It was annoying just because they called us and told us our table was ready and then had us come and wait - the other restaurant also had a table waiting for us but we decided not to leave because it was cold out and did not want to walk back. To make matters worse, a couple of guys came in, gave their number, and were called for a table in under 10 minutes. I'm assuming because they were a two-top. It was still frustrating. After returning, a total of five groups of people were say before we finally got a table. Onece we got our table, our server quickly took our order. My cousin had their short rib entrée with mashed and veggies. Her cousin had the power bowl. I ordered the short rib-stuffed shells. I was not expecting whya arrived to the table. It was blanketed under thick cheese, with what looked like, canned gravy poured on top. I tried it and parts were cold. I went for one of the "stuffed shells" and nothing was inside. The pasta tasted undercooked and the entire dish was bland. For $22 I would expect housemade gravy, tender short rib, stuffed shells, and salt. My cousin ate about half of her short rib entrée and her cousin ate about half of her power bowl, also complaining that it as cold. The food came out very quickly for how it's assembled, which also is a red flag. The server graciously took my order off the bill. I declined ordering anything else. We then waited for her to return so we could get the check. She disappeared. I had to go to the host and ask her to find the server. Another person came and disappeared, returning with our actual server. We got the bill, paid and left. I think we were charged gratuity and I wish I checked before paying because I think I got duped into a double gratuity. The vibe of this place is a mix between college kids and ladies' night for the older crowd. The music is too loud and everyone is screaming because they're competing with the too loud music. We could not hear ourselves talk. It was weird to be at a table and have to yell. In Westchester, we have places like this but it's still a restaurant and you're able to hold a conversation. This place doesn't know what it wants to be - A bar? A club? A restaurant? Parking was horrendous, but I did luck out with a spit right across the street. It's playing a game of musical chairs - you're basically driving up and down the street, hoping the car you're near is about to leave. This restaurant was a suggestion from a person that ended up bailing last minute and I wish we took that as a sign. Maybe I'd come back for brunch service but I'm not too keen on that.

Chinese or Asian fusion? We just had that the other day. Diner? Nah. My daughter remembered Post Office Cafe and we went. It was very loud in the front and we almost walked out but figured we'd give it a try. They seated us way in the back (I had no idea this place was so huge!) where it was quieter. I ordered a chicken salad of some kind with avocado and salad. My son ordered the mac and cheese - it was the highlight of dinner! Absolutely delicious. His friend got the Thai calamari which was decent until he got to the bottom. It was soaked in seasoning and too sweet. My daughter got the buttered pasta - children's portion. I'll let the photo speak for itself. It was drenched in butter. On the bright side - service was great, most of the meals were excellent, waffle fries on point. I mentioned the pasta and showed our server the pool of butter. He took it off our bill without even asking. So ... 4 stars - 5 stars for local business service and just lost the one star for the less than stellar meal and app. Will probably be back!

It is easy to be enveloped by the plethora of great…read morerestaurants in the competitive nature that is NYC, but when you venture all the way out here to Babylon, NY, you have to change that mindset a bit. The Brixton is a beautiful restaurant with very relaxed and casual vibes. The word around town is that their drinks are awesome. What about their food, though? They originally would not seat us in the middle of the afternoon because most of the empty tables were reserved. We had to request to sit outside, which was empty, before they decided to serve us. Odd that they did not even offer that to us. The General Tso' Cauliflower was the only great thing served to us. It is incredibly crispy and flavorful. You almost forgot that you were eating a piece of vegetable at times. The Short Rib Brisket Sesame burger was shocking. $18 for two White Castles-sized sliders. It was easily consumed, and I was left much to be desired. This is most definitely an appetizer item, not an entree. The Chicken Waffle was good. Nicely deep-fried and packs a lot of flavor. The waffle looked dubious. If I had to guess, it might not be mad fresh to order. Essentially, it's 3 drumsticks/wings over a possibly frozen Eggo waffle. I would recommend a second dish if you are looking to get full. The Steak frites and Eggs Benedict were the final dishes served. It is hard to mess these dishes up, but the ribeye was nicely seasoned and cut up. The dishes were nicely displayed. Overall, this is just an OK experience. When the deep-fried cauliflower appetizer is the most memorable dish here, it is quite alarming. Portion sizes are on the small end, and none of the flavors for the entrees really stuck out. Perhaps I will come here strictly for the drinks next time.
