Its odd that people have had different experiences. This has to be the best Peruvian Chicken Spot near and around Baltimore! Servings are plentiful, the chicken is flavorful and the drinks they offer makes it a more unqiue then other Peruvian Chicken Spots. I'm not much of a person to focus on customer service. They are lacking in that department to a certain extent but I've found that to be consistent in every Peruvian Chicken Spot. However, they are not terrible folks. If I had to rate the customer service its a 6.8/10. Although it is average customer service, if your someone like me who doesn't mind dull customer service then this is the best Peruvian Chicken Spot you can goto around the area. SERVICE IS TERRIBLE I'll first start out by saying that Lima's food is pretty good, EXCEPT you can expect to recieve sub-par service. The people that work there are very rude and unprofessional. I asked for a cup for water, and the man at the register says, "Oh, the water in the machine isnt working, you'll have to buy one of our bottles of water." I said no thanks and walked over to the soda machine just because the way he pitched struck me as odd, and what do you know? It worked fine! They were just trying to nickle and dime me. Really great option for some tasty Peruvian food! I always order white meat chicken with sides as I'm always with friends/family. Anyways, their sides are very very good! I love the vegetable variety and both the fried rice and white rice are delicious! They also have really good yucca, and their sauces are delicious. Lima's is a very simple chicken place, but has reliably good dishes and flavorful chicken. It's reasonably priced and has a lot of options from which to choose, including some non-chicken choices as well. It's worth checking out and perfect for a casual, inexpensive meal. read more

So this my third visit to Lima's chicken and I have to say the food is really good. I have one piece of advice to any ordering. If you get something that needs to be grill cooked ask them if they can hold off on making food that can be prepared more easily. They seem to have miss communication with the grill cook. Lima's Chicken needs some more positive publicity. The space they're in used to be nasty cheap-ass Cici's Pizza, and it took me forever to realize there'd been a change there. It was pretty quiet as we wandered in on a Tuesday night, which is a shame because the food's pretty solid. El Pollo Rico in Wheaton, MD used to be my gold standard for Peruvian-style rotisserie birds - tender/crispy/charred with loads of seasoning rub permeating every morsel of meat and skin. Lima's ain't that, but it's still pretty respectable. Fall-off-the-bone tender on the inside and seasoned well, with nicely spicy cilantro/chile sauce on the side. I chose pinto beans and yucca fries as my sides for my half-chicken, and we snagged an order of chips and guac to go along. The beans were tender, salty, and slightly smoky. Adding a few dashes of hot sauce made 'em just right. The guacamole was creamy and had some heat to it, presumably from some slyly incorporated jalapeno. The yucca fries, however, were a bit thick. And, as such, dense and starchy instead of light and crispy. The yucca's the only thing I'd change. Still, solid pollo. Good sides. Reasonable prices. Friendly service. They deserve to be doing more business. So, you should visit them now if you're in the area. Get some chicken. Be happy. read more

This review is not about the food. Lima's Chicken's chicken is tasty. Not the most amazing I've ever had, but it's a solid bet. This review and rating is about the kitchen staff. I went in to order as usual. Social distancing, check. Sanitizer station, check. Good to go. The 3 working the front were gloved and masked. I was happy to see that the woman taking the orders didn't use the same gloves she used when taking cash (something you don't do Covid or not). It was when I got in viewing range of the kitchen that totally put me off. The young man closest to the ordering line did have on gloves and a mask, but would continually wipe the sweat from his face with the back of his hand or pull his mask down with his hands to talk or take a drink. This was more than a little disheartening but the older cook next to him sent me packing. No gloves. No mask. Handling all the food as he chatted away with the young man. Maybe it's because we're in the time of Covid that I'm more hyper sensitive to food preparation, but this has totally put me off returning. read more

Chicken and food is fine, its the customer services needs improvement. I walked in there was no line, One person was taking a phone order, other person (female) was getting the order while he was talking to the customer on the phone, no big deal. But no one acknowledge me at all. I was not quite ready, so no big deal. But when I was ready, the guy was off the phone, they were talking and the female was preparing the phone order. I finally go to order, from the gentleman, and I waited as she was still making the phone order, so 10 minutes gone by and I am still waiting then another customer came in an ordered his food and we are both waiting to get service because it is only one girl making the meals, the guy at the register just cut the chicken and let her do the rest. She was working very slow, and talking to other employees etc. Then when she was ready for us, she took the person that actually ordered after me, first. The other customer was like, well he was first, but she didn't care, and I was like Never mind I don't care, anyway then she took my order. As is, Very unprofessional. We tried this place for the first time on a late Sunday afternoon. It was a light crowd, but there were constantly people coming in. They have a lot of interesting looking Peruvian dishes, so we tried a couple. I had Parrillada Limas (steak, sausage, and chicken served over rice with french fries and salad), and the wife had Pollo Parrillero (flayed boneless chicken breast w/ 2 sides, she chose yuca fries and plantains). Everything was decently prepared, although the wife thought the chicken was bit salty. The sauces that came with the chicken were tasty. The Parillada Limas should probably be shared, since that was a ton of food. The place was clean, service was friendly, food came out quickly. The food here is quite good. Not amazing, but overall decent. I love the plantains, but I got a pretty bad batch one time that was very dry. I would eat here much more regularly, but each time I go I'm always surprised that service can be so terrible. They're always very rude and show as molasses. Will never come back here again. Service is bad the manager is kid playing manager. Came today with my husband and went through the Drive thru and when we pull up the kid at the drive thryputs the close sign. I ask your close or just the drive thru he said just the drive thru. My husband goes inside and ask the lady when is the drive thru close and she saids we don't the drive thru. So the restaurant is empty and this kids just did not want to do his job. This is by far the best Peruvian food I've ever had, not only in the area but ever, I try and go here every chance I get when I'm in town. I highly recommend taking your friends and family here. The portion sizes for the side dishes are double what'd you'd expect. I typically turn a half chicken meal with two sides in two meals! My wife and I came here on a whim and couldn't have been happier with the results. I went with a basic charbroiled chicken meal, and she did the pollo saltado. Couldn't wait to try Lima's again! This visit I ordered the Bistec a lo pobre which is steak, french fries, rice and plantains with fried eggs on top. From the description I thought I would be getting this mountain of layered yumminess, instead the meat and eggs were on top of the rice but the plantains and french fries were like side items. It was still good so I'm not complaining, I just expected something else visually. This will be one of my favorite spots from now on, food is fresh and hot when it hits the table and I love that there are so many menu items to choose from. read more

Pleasantly surprised for area. We ordered a whole chicken and sides and the chicken was well cooked. Nice seasoning that I couldn't quite place and the sides were very good as well. Been here a few times and it never disappoints! I get the chicken bowl which is so flavorful and filling, good level of spicy, and miles above chain Mexican (Chipotle/CalTort) burrito bowls. My husband gets the half chicken with sides (he particularly raves about the fried rice). We keep saying we'll try the yucca fries next time The chicken is delicious -- great smoky flavor, tender, comes right off the bone. Personally I am super picky about chicken texture/quality so for me to be impressed is a huge deal. The restaurant is usually pretty quiet but seems to do good business. We're huge fans! read more

We had a catered event for 50 people, in the middle of the week, at 4:30 in the afternoon. These people were amazingly. The food was totally delicious. I cannot say enough about the chicken and the rice, and then the sauces they bring to add on top, wow, just made it so much better! Everything was very fresh and cooked to perfection. The chicken was extremely moist. I would highly recommend Lima Chicken to anyone for any event!! Very good Peruvian chicken - 1/2 chicken white meat. Chicken had good flavor nice size and especially the side orders. First time I ever had plantains and they were so sweet and tasty.
