Came here for lunch. Tried their Lomo saltado, chicken burrito and beef kebob. Beef kebab was the worst. It's not actual kebab but rather thinly sliced beef skewer. Meat tasted hard and not that great. Burrito was alright. Best out of them was the Lomo Saltado however they used too much teriyaki sauce and you really shouldn't have any teriyaki on it really. Green sauce was pretty tasty. Overall wouldn't recommend. read more

I got the Lomo Saltado, which took a few minutes because they made it fresh. The food tasted great, just like I used to have in Peru. It's a great spot to eat and there's plenty of seating, but I think they're more focused on takeout meals--at least when I was there there weren't any metal utensils and the food came in a takeout container. read more

Conclusion: probably will not come here if we are on a time constraint. I mean it is "fast food", really. If we happen to be here and can wait 30-45mins for food, then sure. Food: pretty good (but was it bc it's been a while + I was hungry?). We had the 1/2 chicken and double yucca fries. I asked for green aji only and they gave us two little containers (included the yellow). The guy after us was given a handful of sauces. We asked for more and she gave us one little thing more. Service: meh. On top of the hot sauce ordeal, if you plan to get food and not have to wait too long, go about 45mins after their "open" time (11am). They were not ready at 11am, and so we waited outside. They looked at us through the window and held up a which we assumed meant 2 mins more until open (at this point it was 11:15am). They opened the door and still were not ready for ppl to place orders. They were in no hurry, just moving along the set up/prep. Finally took our order at 11:30am. This was a random stop for gas and a quick bite before continuing our road trip (and we've been to many pollerías... this was slowest). We could have gotten something quicker. $: cheap. Alright let me lay out for you all, the standard by which I am rating this specific location of Super Chicken Rico (didn't realize it was sort of a chain until I looked it up to review). I consider the gold standard for this Peruvian style chicken and overall cuisine to be a place in Beltsville, MD called Sardis Pollo La Brasa. Think of it as Sophia Vegara. This place is America Ferrera- that smart, cute, young lady from Superstore (and Ugly Betty before that). Super Chicken Rico is good enough, well done, happy to have a meal here. I will probably come back. I had the chicken, fried yucca and pinto beans. Their green sauce (hot and tasty) and the white sauce (sneaky bite..horseradish?) are very good, and they let you take as many of them as you think you need. [Not sure they will continue this- I would imagine they lose some cash there). It is a bit pricey (for the area and what you actually get-but not out of line with other "ethnic" cuisine). The place seems clean, so far, they haven't been there that long. Its mostly a take-out but there are tables inside. I don't think there is much "ambience" so I would find no real reason to stay there to eat. The clientele was mixed Spanish speakers ( a great sign) and regular Baltimore black folks. read more

I ran in here for lunch today expecting the food to be worse than it was! Super Chicken Rico is located in the Golden Ring Shopping Center near the Home Depot, Sam's Club, and Walmart. The place is minimally decorated with a decent amount of seating options. You place your order at the counter by walking down the line and making your selection from the items behind the display window. Some of the food items include, pollo a la brasa, arroz chaufa, plátanos, red potatoes, papas fritas, coleslaw, green beans, and yucca. I ordered a quarter of dark meat chicken, arroz chaufa, and plátanos. The total came to $7.50. I thought that the price was decent for the amount of food that I was given. I've had the authentic stuff and I've also had worse. This falls somewhere in between. I would happily settle for this when I can't drive or fly farther for the real deal. The staff was super friendly, and customer service gets extra points in my book! If you're looking for a no frills Peruvian charbroiled chicken place, then this is your spot! read more

I'm going to have to give this place 3 stars based on the pathetic "customer service" that I received. I walked in on a Friday night and the girl behind the counter was on her cell phone- she did not acknowledge me. I ordered a quarter white meal, with two sides and plantains. As soon as I signed my credit card receipt, she was back on her cell phone. She did not thank me, wish me a good day, nothing! This is not how you treat patrons of a business!! There are so many other Peruvian chicken restaurants in Baltimore. So, the food was okay....the sides did not seem as fresh as other Peruvian restaurants that I've been to, and I've been to several over the years. Get your customer service in order, then you might be a decent Peruvian chicken restaurant. read more

Never will I ever go here again. I don't even know where to start. First, don't waste your time calling and ordering food in advance. You will be waiting in line regardless and your order will never be ready for pick up when you get there. Looks like this happens a lot according to other Yelpers. My order wasn't ready when I arrived so I went to use the restroom, and as I came out, one of the female workers came out at the same time and walked out WITHOUT WASHING HER HANDS! She is a regular employee there, short and handles food at the front. I opened the door as she walked out and asked her if she was planning to wash her hands. She called me a name (in Spanish) and little did she know that I am fluent. She went behind the counter and began chopping whole chickens, WITHOUT gloves! I went out to cancel my order after what I witnessed in the restroom and as I stood there in line to cancel it, something caught my eye and it was a MOUSE!! It ran behind the trash can, a customer eating her food screamed and it ran along the edge into the kitchen in the back. The manager came out to the front (no one was attending the counter at the time), I told him there was a mouse and other customers proceeded to tell him. He told the other employee (who didn't wash her hands), in Spanish, that "we said we saw a mouse" and they both shrugged their shoulders and asked for my order. I said, "do you understand what I said?!" He was very rude and said "You going to order chicken or what?!" I looked at him and said "no way!" And he said "then leave!" and mumbled something else in Spanish which I couldn't make out. Yes, I know that there are mice in public places but when you see them out in daylight running around, and the staff have no care or concern, you have to wonder if there is infestation. Needless to say, every single one of us in the restaurant walked out. It's unfortunate because the food is decent. I doubt I will ever go to the one in Aberdeen- they have the same workers at both, probably ran and owned by the same family. Rudeness, Uncleanliness, unsanitary, and disregard to pre-orders. The reason for my rating is because of clearly being ignored (racist treatment) while standing in line today. If you don't speak Spanish forget it. (note I am a female senior citizen Caucasian) I was clearly in line about 3 pm on 2/12/2021 for 15 minutes or more minutes, at my turn I stood right at the counter, ignored for another 5 minutes and the clerk/owner proceeded to take a very large order in Spanish from the gentleman that was standing 6 feet behind me. Again I am waiting when the female clerk asked for my order. What is so hard about a 1/2 chicken and yucca. There was a Spanish language exchange between the female and male owner? (it was clear to me from gesture that they only had enough yucca for the order that was placed behind me) and then she says to me 5 minutes. The gentleman behind me picked up on all that and instructed them to give me the yucca at hand. And he did that in Spanish but the action was quite clear to me. Thank you kind gentleman. I was at this store twice last year.....the food is very good. Last year the language barrier was a bit difficult but tolerated last year. BUT Today's behavior was inexcusable. I will never return there. I plan to make this a clear racist action known where ever I can. How rude! read more

I love this place. It's near my office, so it's great for when I didn't bring lunch, and am just not in the mood for a burger. I've gotten the same thing both times I've visited because it's just so good. Generous portions too...maybe a little bit too generous. I got the 1/4 white meal, which is seasoned perfectly, and is not as dry as one would expect breast meat to be. They have several choices for sides, but I went with the yucca and green beans. The yucca is fried and tastes much better than regular French fries. The green beans are good, but only if I coated them with the green sauce because they are a bit bland. The other side selections look pretty good, they also have rice, coleslaw, plantains, salad, mixed veggies, and beans. My co-worker got fries, and said they were really good. My only complaint is the service. There was a little bit of a line, and instead of the lady at the register getting straws, she made the man preparing food stop what he was doing to go get straws to put out by the soda fountain. Things might go faster and more smoothly with more people working out front. I'll keep coming here since the food is so good, but won't have high expectations as far as the service goes. read more

Several of my co-workers and I ordered lunch from here today. When I arrived (15 minutes after the order was placed) the workers acted as though there had never been an order placed. I gave the order again and waited patiently for the food to be prepared. I ordered and PAID for 3 subs, each with various toppings, and 2 side dishes. A pretty standard lunch order. I watched them serve 20 people before I inquired about my food. The men that were at the front counter, understood or spoke very little English. After waiting for 30 minutes for these 3 subs, I was upset. The food was not prepared and the men looked at me blankly. A few moments later, the trays came out and I asked for them to pack it quickly so that I could leave. When I checked the food, (back in my office)... EVERY order was WRONG!!! I am so disappointed in this establishment. We called back in order for them to make the order right, and they left our phone call on hold for 10 minutes. In the end, over an hour later, a co-worker returned the food ( while still on the phone/hold with the restaurant) and they refunded some of our money. (Someone tossed out the Plantains, therefore we couldn't return them). I will NOT be returning to this establishment. I will NOT be recommending this place to anyone in the future. BEWARE! Except when you add the secret golden butters the butters take the rice from a five to a 8. It is, okay... the rotisserie chicken while a bit over priced at 7 for a quarter chicken is really tasty . As for the sides I got the pinto beans had no flavor, but the potato's were pretty good. The fried chicken is okay which came with the Pico de Gallo which was tasty. The coke tasted flat. But what disappointed me the most is the steak, I already had low expectations but it managed to still under whelm me. It was dry and tough, to the point I couldn't eat it. Another disappointing thing was that I wanted to order pork chops, but they didn't have any so why put it on the menu? Over all was an okay experience decent service and under par food. (OCD) despite that I still ordered the 1/4 chicken , white rice and plantains. Plantains was 10/10. Beans were awful 0/10. I never had beans that smelled and taste like shrimp or seafood(red flag). Couldn't eat it. The charbroiled chicken 0/10 only because it smelled like farm chicken walking around . Didn't have that good cooked , seasoned well smell. Large pieces of onions, everywhere... everywhere! As I got into my car to drive home, the food (steak quesadillas and plantains) gave off a horrible stench in my car, I had to roll my windows down... in 25 degree whether. Just left the Golden Ring location after having the worst service I have ever experienced. We arrived there about 7pm. While waiting in line multiple people before us left because of what I assumed was the wait. Once it was our turn we placed our order and were told it would be about 5-10 min wait which was fine. As we waited others slowly came in. At this point the man who took our order proceeded to chat with any of new customers that spoke Spanish and ignored anyone else that entered. They started preparing sides for some of those who had entered after us, but once again only those who were talking with them in Spanish still ignoring any other patrons. At 745 he asked us again what our order was so we repeated it. We were told that they could no longer serve us that because of everyone else who ordered, referring to those who entered after us that they were willing to talk with. Apparently unless you are able to speak Spanish you are not important as a patron and are lesser. Maybe it's just me but that is no way to run a business and is unacceptable. read more

Best chicken I have had in a while. Absolutely love the flavor. Spent time trying to figure out the spices.. No luck. Sides were potatoes and Carrots with cheese (amazeballs!) Green Beans (fresh and yummy) and Rice. This is now our go to chicken spot. Popeyes and kfc are no longer in our vocabulary. Recommend at least trying it. read more
