First time I visited this restaurant. I was almost done with my food and discovered a roach.I called the restaurant and their initial response was "So what do you want." I will never patronize this establishment again. #Disgusted!!!! I had a back and forth with at least 2 employees before they "alluded" to giving me my money back.

I've always loved Chicken Rico on Pulaski hwy in Rosedale until tonight at work when found a roach like bug at the bottom of my green beans. SOOOOOO DISGUSTED AND DISAPPOINTED!!! (PLEASE see attached photos)

Conclusion: probably will not come here if we are on a time constraint. I mean it is "fast food", really. If we happen to be here and can wait 30-45mins for food, then sure. Food: pretty good (but was it bc it's been a while + I was hungry?). We had the 1/2 chicken and double yucca fries. I asked for green aji only and they gave us two little containers (included the yellow). The guy after us was given a handful of sauces. We asked for more and she gave us one little thing more. Service: meh. On top of the hot sauce ordeal, if you plan to get food and not have to wait too long, go about 45mins after their "open" time (11am). They were not ready at 11am, and so we waited outside. They looked at us through the window and held up a which we assumed meant 2 mins more until open (at this point it was 11:15am). They opened the door and still were not ready for ppl to place orders. They were in no hurry, just moving along the set up/prep. Finally took our order at 11:30am. This was a random stop for gas and a quick bite before continuing our road trip (and we've been to many pollerías... this was slowest). We could have gotten something quicker. $: cheap. Take at look at my posted menu photos.

I ran in here for lunch today expecting the food to be worse than it was! Super Chicken Rico is located in the Golden Ring Shopping Center near the Home Depot, Sam's Club, and Walmart. The place is minimally decorated with a decent amount of seating options. You place your order at the counter by walking down the line and making your selection from the items behind the display window. Some of the food items include, pollo a la brasa, arroz chaufa, plátanos, red potatoes, papas fritas, coleslaw, green beans, and yucca. I ordered a quarter of dark meat chicken, arroz chaufa, and plátanos. The total came to $7.50. I thought that the price was decent for the amount of food that I was given. I've had the authentic stuff and I've also had worse. This falls somewhere in between. I would happily settle for this when I can't drive or fly farther for the real deal. The staff was super friendly, and customer service gets extra points in my book! If you're looking for a no frills Peruvian charbroiled chicken place, then this is your spot!

All this for $6. Good food...

Food is great here, the chicken is fantastic but what makes it are the sides they offer.

There is a table outside that you could sit at. With my double broiled crab platter, I also had potato salad. It could have used a hit of old bay or paprika to set it off. The crab cakes were ok. No filler, but not enough seasonings. You really do get a nice lump of a crab cake, but I would have preferred it to be more moist. I did get a side of tarter and cocktail sauce. The tartar sauce is homemade I think. I would have enjoyed it with more pickle juice and pickle and again a hit of paprika or old bay would really set it off. I recommend if you're not craving highly seasoned food, but tasty and well prepared.

The crab cake absolutely lived up to its reputation--packed with large, sweet pieces of crab meat and very little filler. It was fresh, flavorful, and surprisingly light. The Seafood Combo was generous and perfect for sharing after a long day of exploring the city. The restaurant was busy but well organized, and the staff were friendly and efficient. The atmosphere felt lively without being overwhelming. After lunch, we took a short walk to Fells Point and spent the afternoon exploring the neighborhood, which made it a perfect Baltimore experience. Pros: rustic ambiance, great service, food came out pretty quickly Cons: furniture could use an update (we had a broken chair and almost fell), lunch portion seafood could use a bit more seafood. Our shared side of the grilled Zucchini (definitely enough to share) was also a highlight. We've been raving about our fried clam sandwich and lobster roll since. Both were amazing; my wife said it was the best lobster roll she's had (we've never been to maine or anywhere known for lobster). The dessert passion fruit pie was a great way to end, also shared, but the crust was a little too thick and the dollop on top did kind of over power the curd. The birthday sprinkles (it wasnt either of our birthdays) were cute. We will be back. Especially to try the raw bar (We're pregnant and didnt want to risk it).

I suspect Captain Jim runs his ships all the same, no matter where they are located, so I'll put it here - but if the Captain is still in the same spot next year, I'll start the new Yelp page then. My grandfather lived in Dundalk all his life, and he was a tremendously important person in my life. He passed some time ago and is buried at... one of those cemeteries on German Hill, right across the street from Captain Jim's. I like to visit him on his birthday, and Christmas if I have the chance. This year would have been his 99th birthday. I put a box of Butterfinger candies on his headstone because they were his favorite, and decided that I would get some steamed crabs in his honor because they were also one of his favorite things (and I had the money). We were originally going to get the crabs somewhere else, but figured, 'hey, Captain Jim's is right here. Why not give them a try?' We weren't disappointed. It took about 20 minutes for them to freshly steam 3 dozen small males, and a pound of shrimp for us. It wasn't much more than $50 (which is what I had on hand from my grandmother, who has been without my grandfather for at least 15 years now). The scent of the (I'm guessing) J.O2 seasoning filled our van, and the steam from the crabs actually fogged our windows. I spent about 8 hours picking crabs. I find the activity so calming, and could do it all the time if my arthritic elbows and shoulders didn't throw an absolute fit the next day. The crabs were delicious and made me happy, and isn't that the point? We got two different butters to dip the crab in, but that's not really my thing. My boyfriend said that the plain butter tasted woody, and he didn't like that, but the garlic butter was a hit and he has used the leftover butter to make at least one dinner so far. The shrimp were lovely, and came with cocktail sauce, and steamed onions because what's the point of steamed shrimp if not to get some onions as well? I think we did right by my grandfather.
