Lime & Salt is a local spot that draws crowds. My friend and I met there for brunch recently. The service came with notable issues. We had to request the brunch menu from the bartender/server (he gave us the regular menu). Since our server was also the bartender (staffing issue) -- I had to go to the bar to request the check. In terms of the food, my burger was good, but on the salty side (probably because of the chorizo). It was also a messy meal. I had to request additional napkins because my hands were dripping with egg yolk. The fries were salty, too, but crispy and firm. My friend enjoyed her dish, for the most part. I'm going to have to give Lime & Salt another try soon. My first visit was just okay.
What a gem! Having received a recommendation from a friend that also is a chef I was excited to check the place out. He recommended the nachos with pork as a definite must try and was he right. The nachos were crisp which let's be honest if you have ever tried them you know they can moonlight as a wet paper towel but not this place. And the pork was out of this world flavorful. We also tried the burrito which was equally good but with two of us we left feeling stuffed with goodness and not in the omg why did I just eat a sack of grease feeling. You won't regret coming!
Came here for an impromptu brunch & it was a nice time. We had the chicken buttermilk sandwich (came w/ fries & chorizo) & chilaquiles divorciados (came w/ scrambled eggs & avocado). Bottomless margaritas was an option so heck yea, we jumped on it. Food was good & the margs too! The margs tasted fresh & had a kick. The spot is cute & chill with music at a decent volume. I'll be back for sure.
I love a good Mexican restaurant, and getting me to queens is no easy feat, but I will def come back to this place. Food 4.5/5: I only had the chicken nachos but it was legit so delicious that I was licking my fingers. The portion size was interesting because they gave us a ton of chicken and a little amount of chips which is ironic because it's usually the other way around, but still very much worth it. Drinks: 5/5 strong tasty and slap yo mama worth, I would def come back here just to enjoy a happy hour if all the bartenders are that talented. Ambiance 3.5/5: I didnt find my seat very comfortable and the place is very narrow, I think sitting at a regular table would have been more enjoyable. The music is also quite loud, so I'm thinking not the best place for a first date and more a vibe for you and some friends. Service: was crazy fast and our server was very attentive , started to slow a bit as the night got more packed but that is as expected. Overall a great night!

I love love Mexican good so when I saw the food options and good reviews I quickly did a U-turn and decided to try them out. The restaurant is decorated with many vibrant colors but it was hard to notice because it seemed like the only light they had inside was from outside. The restaurant itself is quite small and during my visit, there were maybe 5-6 guests including myself. No dj. Music was playing from a phone, I'm sure. There was one bartender and one server. I ordered my food to go and a to go drink while I waited. The food did not take long at all. Food: I got shrimp nachos and av order of chicken nachos. Both were delicious and gave a good amount of all the ingredients, specially the nacho chips. That did put a lot of cheese which I will most likely tell them to put not so much of next time. There is also an ingredient in there that is spicy, not sure what, but will be requested to not include next time. For the drink I ordered the Selena. It was very tasty and actually refreshing. My only negative is the parking. The restaurant is on Queens Blvd service road with several other restaurants , so the parking is very limited.

Price for lunch is $12.99, and included either 1or 2 sides, and soda or water (tap bec no bottled water was brought out). The portions looked good when brought out. The grilled steak was tasty but cooked well-done so a little tougher after a while. The grilled pork chops had a hint of sweetness. Didn't taste these but my son liked his steak burrito, which had cubed meat; the steak torta, which had fried breaded meat got a bit dry. Offered two sauces: green sauce which was very mild, and bottled- hot sauce. As far as desserts, churros were our favorite with dulce de leche inside, some chocolate sauce and whipped cream. Not so much the tres leches - only the bottom half was slightly soaked so the top was dry; also lacking a bit of the fruits mentioned. All in all the meal was just ok. Liked the murals. The lighting was dim but the colorful decor was vibrant. Service by the only staff member taking care of the diners was great though. He was attentive, while remaining calm and with a smile. Surcharge for using credit card.
Great small restaurant serving top quality nachos, shrimp fajitas and even some onion rings! These nachos are definitely my go to, totally dig the hardened melted cheese on the tortilla chips. I'm not sure what cheese mix they are using but it definitely works. Totally customizable, liked that they pay attention to requests for items on the side like sour cream, avocado, and beans as some in my party have allergies. My order of shrimp fajitas come with warm tortillas on the side making it a fun do-it-yourself exercise. I don't often see onion rings on the menu when I go mex but these onions rings are perfect as well. Order ahead for pickup to minimize the wait. I'll reorder again for sure.

The waiter immediately greeted me when I arrived and I was able to sit. I took the waiter's recommendations for food and the drinks. The waiter had a recommendation for every type of liquor but since I was in the mood for tequila, I had the Selena. It was nice and strong and not too sweet. For my entree I had the birria tacos. SOOO good. Very flavorful. The tacos were huge. I thought I would be able to finish all three there, but I ended up taking one home. I warmed it the toaster oven the next day and it was still delicious. Can't wait to go back and try more items off the menu.

Food took a little while to come once we ordered. But super worth the wait!! My kid ordered the steak quesadilla which was amazing!!! I had the tinga chimichanga which was scrumptious and packed with lots of flavors! They didn't miss! Damn. The food was delightful and I highly recommend this spot!
This place is fun, loud vibrant and cool. This is not a place to go if you are aiming for intimate conversation. Definitely a bar vibe with great staff and food. We always start with the nachos with chorizo. A crowd favorite. Nice heat and great flavors. Went for the steak enchiladas with salsa verde. Their salsa verde is so good and addictive. Vibrant, full of flavor with an excellent heat. My fiance had the chorizo burrito with maduros. The maduros were perfection. Worth the trip if you can come and try. read more

I took advantage of the their lunch special and ordered the carne asada. I ordered it to go. As I waited the restaurant had multiple people also enjoying the treats from the bar and kitchen for lunch. Upon arriving home, the grilled meat was delicious and plentiful. There was enough for left overs as the meat was folded in half in the tin. I chose the sides of frijoles (beans) and maduros (sweet plantain). I am a fan of a hint of spice and it should be noted the beans were seasoned with a hint of spiciness. I am looking forward to trying other items on the menu. read more

Such a cute neighborhood gem! Small but mighty location. My fav thing is their nachos !!! Chorizo is my fav this time we tried shrimp so flavorful ! But again its small so may not get a table right away but the wait is usually not long and worth it. Def check it out! read more

This place is a decent vibe. The happy hour price was phenomenal the tacos were ok. The corn and calamari were definitely standouts. The tres leches was a disappointment for sure. Service was super fast and they let's us order all our happy hour drinks in one go. read more

This is a 3.5 star review. The food was average and good. The menu is extensive and on the inexpensive side. The Carne Asada was tasty, but the meat was chewy and a cheap cut. Then Chicken Enchilada wasn't bad, and the chicken was moist. read more

Made an order for delivery: 3x Mango Margaritas 16oz 3x Classic Margaritas 16oz 4x Fried Calamari 4x Wings Lots of back and forth just to place this order, a total of 5 calls (3 from waiter and 2 from delivery driver). As seen in the photos, i received 2 different containers for the same measurement drinks. The waiter told me estimated time was 35 minutes for the delivery, placed the order at 8:50pm. The driver gets lost going to my address and calls me at around 9:46pm. Calls me again at 9:55pm to meet him up at the corner. Ridiculous, nowadays with GPS how do you get lost getting to a destination? 2 guys meet me at the corner of my block and im forced to take 3 bags worth of food and drinks back to my house. The food arrived cold of course after an hour and 5 minutes. The calamari were undercooked and rubbery, might as well asked for grilled calamari. Both the wings and calamari were way too salty. Not even the drinks were up to par, overall a terrible experience that cant be written off for simply arriving late. To top things off the total price was different from what i was told and the delivery guys didn't come with an extra receipt. They came with only one copy requesting my signature and never left one for me. read more

We arrived around 6:20 on a Tuesday to some nice music and quick seating. The restaurant decor was themed as Halloween We were handed a few menus one for the main and happy hour. The service was excellent with smiling warm faces and very friendly waitresses and waiters. We ordered the chips and guacamole as our starter. During happy hour we partook in some margaritas and they were well made. The chips were crunchy and plentiful the salsa was great, although I would like the salsa a bit spicier. The guacamole was very well made, very fresh and very authentic. We also ordered chicken enchilada with the house mole sauce. It was amazing. The flavors were spot on and the best I've had in a while. The Birria tacos were also delicious. They were hot and freshly made, the consommé was very flavorful and the perfect complement to the tacos. I didn't realize such a high quality taqueria (and so much more) was so close in Rego Park. Very excited to go back and to try more of the menu. read more

I had a lunch special takeout grilled chicken salad with can of soda for $13.50+ tip. Then came back for happy hour with a friend that lives nearby. The frozen Margarita was $9 and delicious with fresh homemade, authentic ingredients. We shared 3 empanadas for $10. My birria shredded beef empanada was delicious. And the servers are charming. Come here for an authentic fun, musical Mexican experience with excellent food. I love that this place is two blocks from my home. read more

My kid & I had lunch here with a friend & her kid, we came on a Wednesday around noonish. The place was empty which isn't surprising considering it was the middle of the week. There was only one server and she was keeping herself busy at the bar. She was very pleasant and told us to sit wherever we liked. We needed a highchair which she brought out right away along with the menus and then a bottle of chilled tap water. Being that the place was empty, we didn't feel rushed to order, but once we placed our order, we didn't have to wait long for the food. We started with guac & chips (forgot to take pics), chips were nice and crunchy, guac was good. I liked that the guac wasn't spicy but a small cup of spicy sauce(salsa?) was included on the side with the chips. For our main meal, I ordered the Tinga chimichanga, it was tasty but could've used a little more sauce, maybe some guac. My kid had the "kids" burger, I was surprised with how big it was considering it was on the kids menu. The doneness of the burger was medium, a little bloody when I cut into it. I would've preferred if it had been cooked to medium-well/well done but I had to reheat it anyway for dinner. Most of the burger(about 3/4ths) ended up coming home, which both kids ended up eating for dinner. They both enjoyed it and it was filling enough for the both of them. My friend had the chorizo chimichanga(not pictured), she said it tasted good but became a little salty & overwhelming. She ended up adding the left over guac to tamper down the salt. All in all the food was pretty good and the server was great. I would definitely come again when I'm hankering some Mexican food. read more

Lime & Salt serves authentic Mexican dishes and cocktails... and the prices are reasonable. My first experience was takeout and the ordering/pickup process was smooth. Nachos portion was fit for sharing. It was loaded with steak and black beans, chipotle cheese sauce, sriracha, pivots de gallo and guacamole. The birria tacos were tasty, but takeout probably didn't do them justice. Will need to order again when we dine in. Such a cool little spot with a cool vibe. The food ingredients were fresh and flavorful. These folks definitely know what they're doing and will have lots of success for years to come. Oh... and I can't wait to hit them up for Happy Hour! read more

Food and drinks are good. Decent pricing, but the ambiance was super loud. I didn't know it was karaoke night as it was not mentioned when I arrived. It was super loud inside where I couldn't have a conversation I asked them politely if they can at least turn down the volume just a little bit they answered no. My ears was hurting from the loud music and from the people screaming into the mic... it was not an enjoyable time. read more
We stopped by here for dinner and given we were in the mood for Mexican and figure we give this a try. Stepping in, there's a bar on the right hand side with rows of tables stretched on the left and some down on the far right. Despite it being a Sat night, we were able to get a seat quickly. We liked the decor but it was a tad too dim lighting wise for our liking. But that's a minor preference. My son got the steak chimichanga and the presentation looked gorgeous but he felt the steak cut could have been better. I had the buttermilk chicken sandwich which honestly was pretty good. It came with chorizo embedded in the sandwich and hot piping fries on the side. My only minor complaint is that the guac slapped in the burger did make the bottom part of the bun a bit too moist and hard to pick up at times. But overall, I enjoyed my sandwich. My wife had the blackened mahi mahu tacos on corn tortillas. She thought it was just alright. Overall, we give this place a 3.5 stars based on our one visit. Lastly, all the staffs in there were amazingly helpful. read more

I saw that there was a taco spot with a happy hour in Rego Park(!!!) and yelled to a friend, "Let's go!!" Let me start off by saying the prices are very similar to restaurants in Forest Hills (iykyk), Astoria, and Manhattan. But the happy hour definitely makes up for it! For happy hour, Mondays - Fridays from 12-7pm (best happy hourS ever), they have: - $8 cocktails - $7 well drinks - $5 shots - $4-8 beer - $7 Pinot Grigio or Cabernet Honestly, if you wanna get lit, get the cocktails lmao -- I got 2 mojitos and they're pretty strong!! Bravo to the bartender. For appetizers, my friend and I just shared the fried calamari ($15) -- they were good!. For the entree, we shared steak fajitas ($16). My friend said the steak was a small amount, and I guess I do agree with her. They stack it with peppers and onions on a small cast iron plate, but they're generous with their tortillas, and it comes with a little cup of guac! For dessert, we got the churros ($10) with a caramel filling. I didn't realize that they had caramel, but it was fine because I was able to scrape it off easily. Overall, a good experience for 67th Ave! If I'm near the area again, I definitely would go back for the happy hour! Cailin's Recommendation: - the happy hour drinks! read more
