We decided to check out Limerick's Tavern for St. Patrick's Day since it's local and we've heard it's kid-friendly. Big disappointment overall. When we called ahead, no one mentioned they were only serving a limited St. Patrick's Day menu today. Nothing from the regular menu was available. My daughter ended up eating plain fries the whole time because there wasn't a single kid-appropriate option. It felt misleading after being told it's family-friendly when we called prior to coming. The place was packed. The line was out the door, and we had a long wait. Inside was uncomfortably hot and stuffy too. I was eyeing the Cottage Pie but asked the server about peas (not a fan), and she said it might have a lot, so I passed. My wife ordered it instead since she doesn't mind peas and surprise, zero peas in it. She said it was just okay, nothing special, so I guess I didn't miss out. I went with the Irish Nachos instead. They were fine, but the house-made potato chips were underwhelming. Crispy but not flavorful. The standout was the lemon pepper wings. Those were actually really good. Green beer was a fun thematic touch too. Atmosphere is lively for the holiday, but for a regular visit or even future St. Patrick's Day? Probably not coming back. If you're planning to go on the big day, brace for crowds and waits. And for fun, here's a limerick summing it up: There once was a pub in Upland so grand, For St. Paddy's we joined hand in hand. But the menu was slim, Kid options were grim, Just fries for our lass, what a bland! The heat made us sweat, lines out the door, Cottage Pie? "Peas maybe." We weren't sure. No peas in the end, Wife said "meh" my friend, Nachos were fine, wings we adored. Green beer was cool, but that's all the cheer, Average at best, won't return here. I wrote a review about a year ago about how this place had changed over time. We decided to go once more yesterday to watch the playoff game and have dinner. Unfortunately, the downward trend from a year prior continued. Our group went to order the Irish Nachos and Shepards Pie (cottage pie on their menu) and beer. They were out of the beer we initially wanted. Once we got our first drinks, the waitress was MIA for awhile before we were even able to flag her down to order. We attempt to order the Irish Nachos, and the waitress says they are out of chips. One of their flagship apps on their menu and they are out of potato's to slice chips? On a Saturday (wasn't even busy)? We end up making other choices, and also order all other food. We wait about another 15-20 before anything comes out. Two of us ordered their Cottage Pie and not until they were bringing food out did they inform us that they don't have cottage pie. Again, another staple on the menu and it's not available because "the mix didn't come together" and "they weren't expecting it to be busy. " Two things - 1: it's a Saturday with NFL playoff games on; 2: the table is informed after the food is already being brought out (and both items are staples of the menu). I had to get up to go find someone multiple times for various item requests. I assume they were understaffed, but as I mentioned, not busy at all. Food isn't what it once was, the waitress was nice when she came around, as was the other lady who I think was the bartender trying to help her out. I would say that as a place to go have a beer and watch sports, it's still a viable option. As a dining destination, I used to look forward to taking people there as their food was stellar, but that is no longer the case. read more

I went in on a Friday because it's Lent and I have been getting tired of fish tacos. Upland can be interesting... and the evening I went in there were some 'interesting' people at the Bar. I felt a strange vibe from the 2 Men sitting at the bar probably because one kept commenting out loud "Who's that BLACK guy next to Steve Garvey?" emphasis on the word 'Black' and said about 3 times. Then he said "F**| it one out of two isn't bad" said with a chuckle. Yes, I was the only African-American in the bar and I kept my right eyebrow down and drank my beer. This was an evening that the main cook didn't show so there was a sign outside that said the kitchen would be open shortly (or something to that effect) I ordered fish & chips and patiently waited for my order... I liked the presentation but the fish tasted off... like undercooked or something. I told the Bartender and let her know to check with the Cooks because I ended up not eating 90% of it. At first, I thought it was me but NOPE it was almost slimy. Had it been cooked properly I think it would have been pretty tasty. Went here for St Patrick's day week and it was amazing. The atmosphere was impeccable. Servers were super nice and everyone in the bar was super friendly. Had great conversation. I really appreciated their glassware with the st Patrick's Guinness it added to the atmosphere. Didn't order food this visit but I really like how the kitchen is open and you can see them cook the food. There's lots of seating and parking. Restrooms were clean too. Just moved to the area, my husband and I thought we'd check out this place. Vibes are chill, service is great and food is top tier to keep it simple. We had the pleasure of having Jordan as our bartender / server, she was nice; made us feel welcomed! I ordered the Cottage Pie and he got the pretzel with beer cheese and mustard. This place used to be good but something has changed over the past couple of years. The food is disgusting. The drinks and service is good but if you're coming here to eat I would go somewhere else. I see they changed their menu and left a few items from their old one but those items are different. The bread on the sliders is cheap crap not like the mini brioche buns they used to have and the Irish nachos used to have real cheese and now they're just smothered in a nasty nasty cheese sauce. Have not visited this location in many years, but a friend and I came to drink some beers and watch some NFL football just recently. Beers were good, service was great. The bartender/waitress was very friendly, and made us feel comfortable and invited. We wanted to eat, but the menu to me, did not look very appetizing. But we will visit again. read more

Miranda greeted us with an awesome smile and welcoming attitude. Floors, seating, tables were all clean and my family and I all felt comfortable sitting down to eat. We ordered three kids meals, a Reuben sandwich, house nachos and two golden monkey beers. The beers were cold and delicious, the nachos were so delicious and flavorful, the sandwich had amazing rye bread, sauerkraut was hot and delicious and the meat was tender, hot and no grisly bits. My friend and I met up here to watch the last half of the LA Kings hockey game and the Packers & Chiefs football game. There is a good amount of table and bar seating here. Glad we came here tonight. It had been a while as it's practically around the corner from my home. Yesi gave us the utmost exceptional service! She is so kind, friendly, and hard-working. My friend and I ordered the set of three spicy chicken sliders and a side of fries. We also had the Man Pizza with all the meats only. We shared all. Everything was super good! I love coming here because everyone as far as customers are very friendly as well! Great atmosphere to be in, and even better as my Kings won! Went here as a last minute place to have lunch and we were very pleased with our meal and service. This is a classic Irish style tavern and we really enjoyed their Irish Stew & Fish & Chips. The service was the best mind you as it was just after they opened so it was not busy at all. We look forward to returning here next time we come out this way. read more

Wow, I have been coming here since this place opened (with a few minor stints of staying away for different reasons). But now, I am not sure what is going on. The food is still very good! The management/staff, though, needs a lot of work, apparently. I eat at Limericks at least 4 times a week, sometimes more. Over the last week and a half to two week, multiple people have either been let go, or have quit because of new managers, and all I can say about that is, that's terrible. It looks like I (and by I, I mean we) will have to find a new place to go because things are not looking up for Limericks right now. I hope the owner(s) know what they are doing because the sacrifices they appear to be making/allowing are not, in my opinion, worth it. I really hope that they can figure things out because I truly believe that Limericks, with the right attention and care, could be a gem in Upland. But, with the way things are currently going, I fear that Limericks will soon be a figment of my imagination and just a fond memory of a place I used to love to go for good food and a good atmosphere. read more

This is mine and my wife's first time it did not disappoint ! This is a Irish type bar so their clam chowder is two thumbs up it's a must try go choice of beer as well! Price are reasonable and parking is in a big shopping center so parking is super easy! It's kind of hidden so it looks as if there isn't a lot of foot traffic. Visited here on 01/12/24 Mozzarella sticks great. Pretzel was great but the cheese was weird. Is it supposed to be chunky thick? It looked like coagulated cheese sauce, and it was not warm. Room temp at best. Mac and cheese was awful. It was cold, after about 3 or 4 bites we told the server and asked for a box to take home. Should have sent it back now that I really think about it cause it reheated not so good the next day. Garlic fries didn't taste like garlic. Just tasted like a bunch of Parmesan cheese fries. We love coming to Limericks. It's such a nice easy going bar with great drinks and such lovely service. We especially enjoy coming on Wednesdays when they have their half off wings, wine, and whiskey special. I love the wings and the fries are sooo yummy. Honestly the fries are so good they are my favorite. I also love their beer selection and they always make me a great gin and tonic. Recently stopped by to check out this place. Service was good. I was there to visit a friend that just started. Showed up for a drink ... ended up shocked at the high quality of food. Clam chowder was one of the best I've ever had. I can safely say it's at the same level of any sea food restaurant by any beach city in SoCal. Mac n cheese with Bacon was unexpected. The absolute worst service I have ever had at a bar. First they charged my card 25.00 twice as a hold. Then my husband and I order a total of 5 drinks 2 vodka sodas and 2 beers and 1 shot and they added an extra shot on my bill and when I brought up to the waitress she stated she could not remove it but had to ring my bill up again. I told her I was not having her charge my card 4 times at this point totally over 130 bucks for 4!drinks! She proceeded to hand me 12 dollars in cash for the extra shot. Besides the fact that she kept charging my card the bill was 80 for 4 drinks and 1 shot! WTF! Is your beer 20 bucks??
