This was our first time trying Limoncello but it won't be our last. This byob has a patio where you are swept away and feel like you are dining in Tuscany. I was honestly highly disappointed with my experience here. We dined for lunch on a Sunday afternoon after one of my close friends baptisms. I looked at the pictures online and loved the outdoor ambiance with the string lights and expected the food to provide that same level of excitement as they claim to be authentic Italian cuisine. Since this was a private event the appetizers and desserts were family style while your main dish was your own entree. The bruschetta was great! The right amount of tomato and olive oil without making the bread soggy which is a hard feat on its own. The calamari was made from frozen to my dismay, you can tell by the breading and the fact that there were no tentacles. I opted for the bolognese pappardelle. I was expecting thick wide and long noodles but they were thin and overcooked so almost mushy. Additionally the sauce had no flavor, it honestly tasted similar to chef boyardee that I had when I was a kid. My husband got the salmon and it was perfectly cooked, moist, and the caper lemon sauce really enhanced the flavor. The servers also seemed a bit frazzled with such a large party but after a bit they found their rhythm. Overall, this restaurant really missed the mark on some dishes which is why I am only giving 2 stars. read more

We celebrated my mom's birthday here - and it looked like most tables were celebrating birthdays or having holiday dinners. The caprese di burrata salad was really good. My Pollo Francese was just ok, not super flavorful. They have a kids menu so we were able to get some chicken tenders and fries for my son. Everyone with our group enjoyed their meals. It's BYOB, but they serve some limoncello after the meal. Yum! They were so kind to do a birthday dessert for my mom even when we weren't planning to order any because we had made something to have at home. My husband and I were in the area doing some shopping and needed to get food. We didn't want to get fast food so I looked up the restaurants in the area and this came up. I am always up for Italian restaurants so this was right up my alley. We didn't have a bottle of wine with us unfortunately we didn't know it was BYOB. But I ended up getting a rose water lemonade which was very tasty and refreshing. I ordered a pasta special of the night which had shrimp, scallops, crab, and the pasta was a mushroom egg type of pasta which I never had before which was cool. It was very good and everything was fresh, the scallops and shrimp were a nice size and cooked right as well. We ended up getting 2 desserts the tiramisu and the creme brûlée. I actually liked the creme brûlée better. The tiramisu was homemade but tasted a little off like it was missing something. I was also disappointed they ran out of limoncello. We saw the other tables next to us getting it at the end of their meal and we were wondering why no one gave it to us. Our waiter said they ran out but would give us double next time. I was so very excited to hear that Limoncello is in our neighborhood and I am even more excited now that I've had the chance actually dine at this location. We had 6 pm reservations with our family and were seated promptly with water glasses filled and water carafes on the tables. Warm bread was brought over with a side of pesto, butter, and olive oil with two Kalamata olives. Our server was very knowledgeable, reciting a long list of specials to the table and giving us time to look over the menu. A few members of our party opted to try appetizers while others chose salads. I went with the salad special which had sliced peaches, goat cheese, arugula, and fennel in a honey vinaigrette. Others ordered the grilled artichokes ( I tried these and they were delicious), the calamari, the burrata, and Caesar salads. The entrees were definitely the star of the show. I went with the papparadalle with short rib and mushrooms. It was delicious, but I actually loved my mother in laws entree even more: the chicken limoncello. Thin chicken cutlets with crab, shrimp, asparagus, and tomatoes in a creamy lemon sauce was fantastic. My mom went with the chicken rollatine, which was also great. Other entrees our party ordered are pictured. Everyone seemed super happy with their selections. For dessert we tried the chocolate cake, the bourbon toffee cake, the peanut butter bomb, and the creme brûlée. The creme brûlée was the only dessert we ordered that was made in house but it was perfection. We finished the evening with complimentary limoncello shots. The space is decorated nicely, servers are attentive, and a lot of the pasta, if not all, is made in house. We will be back again and again. read more

This is welcome and refreshing addition to the restaurant scene around Washington Twp. There was simple yet nice room decor. Comfortable seating. Our server was nice, engaging, congenial and very knowledgeable about the menu and specials. The lobster bisque with crab was a nice way to kick off our meal experience. There was an ample amount of soup, well balanced flavors presented, with plenty of crabmeat. There was a unique presentation for calamari, not breaded and deep fried but rather sort of sautéed and mixed with arugula and cherry tomatoes like a 'salad', and it was excellent! The entrees were the special: 2 lightly breaded flounder filets with LOTS of crabmeat, roasted cherry tomatoes, and asparagus in a lovely cream sauce. The breading on the flounder was light and not over-seasoned. The asparagus was tender and tasty, not 'woody'. Overall, a well-balanced dish. I wish it would be a regular on the menu. My complements to the chef for a great seafood dish. I thought the unique presentation of tiramisu was pretty cool, also. It was made good, not thick, heavy, or overly filling. It is a shame because the food was good, but the experience turned me off & will not be back. We made a reservation by phone and when we sat down, we were told by our server that we had to be up in an hour because there was another reservation. I don't mind being told this but they should have told us on the phone when we made the reservation not when we sit down. They were on top of us taking our plates before we were done & we were told we could not order dessert. They are all about rushing you in and out and getting their money. We would have kept ordering, but they shut us down. There are plenty of good restaurants that won't treat us like that. We won't be back! read more

I fear veal out, especially at a place we haven't been to before. Reinforcement from the waitress and I go risk on for the veal. Why does risk on at a restaurant never pan out? I guess that's why it's risk on. Veal was tough and despite the umami bomb implied by the assortment of mushrooms and glace, it was rather bland. The wife tasted it and agreed. This place was the old Pelican Restaurant which closed. The waitress was friendly and nice. The place was busy and loud. They have a few tables outdoors and they were less noisy. The food was very good. We had the special filet mignon ordered as I like it with nice large lump crab meat on top. The brown butter sage mushroom ravioli was ok. They need to make it with more sage and brown butter; keep it simple. The ground meat sauce with capellini was very tasty. We liked the fried calamari but the grilled calamari and octopus was a little tough. This place is a BYOB. They will open the bottle for you and put it on ice if you want. I was not happy they charged 3% for credit cards. I don't like restaurants that are starting to charge customers for credit cards. What's up with that? The footprint of the restaurant is tight, and you can't avoid the loud chatter. It's real loud as a matter of fact (don't expect a quiet evening), you'll have a challenge talking to your partner or hearing the staff. Lastly, the pricing is on a par with other similar moderate to slightly higher priced locations, but they do get carried away with some choices. $16 for a soup is uncalled for. We celebrated my husband's birthday at Limon Cello because it was highly recommended by our daughter. Even though it is nestled in a strip store, walking into the restaurant was warm & inviting. When we were first seated the noise level was good but after the restaurant started to fill up the noise was very loud. Our meal was excellent from appetizers to dessert. The service was top notch. There were 5 people in our party & we ordered many different choices from the menu. When we received our bill, I was surprised to see a $7.50 charge for using my debit card. I must add, I rarely carry cash. I'm not a frugal person, but that charge seriously annoyed me. It would definitely be a deal breaker when thinking about dining out there again. read more

Tonight was my second trip to Limoncello Ristorante in Washington Township, and it did not disappoint. It was my husband's first time there, and he said it may have been the best meal he's ever had. The service was spectacular. Very attentive and friendly. We started with the Antipasto Limoncello, which was delicious. I had the "Carne" which was braised short rib served on parmesan risotto. My husband had the Flounder Francaise special, which was topped with crabmeat and served over homemade papardelle. Both were incredible. I decided to choose Limoncello for a birthday dinner. I was able to make reservations and when arrived asked if I wanted to be seated outdoor or indoor. My party and I chose to dine indoors. We were seated promptly and was brought water. We were then read the specials for the night before they gave us time to look over the menu. After putting in our order for appetizers and entrees they brought over bread and dips/butter for the bread. Everything up to receiving our meal was on par with regular restaurant dining. The service started decline as the meal continued on. We were not offered refills on drinks and had to ask for a refill on bread. After receiving our check, we waited a bit but we were never approached to finished paying the bill. I had to bring up the check to front desk to drop off. Wish the service was better and more consistent. Also the atmosphere is too loud. We were seated next to a large party and could barely hear each other sitting next to each other. read more

This was our second visit to this restaurant. Our first visit was mediocre but thought we would give them another try as the restaurant is close to our home and we were really looking for another dining experience in our area. We arrived 7:25 and were quickly seated. The restaurant was very loud to the point we could barely hear each other talk. Shortly after arriving the waitress took our full order. It took a half hour to deliver our appetizer. We ordered their fried calamari, which was delivered hard as a rock, cold and with no lemon or any marinara or dipping sauce. We ended up sending the appetizer back with no request for a replacement. The waitress then quickly delivered our salads. The Cesar Salads were very skimpy and drenched in dressing. Certainly nothing you would expect from an upscale restaurant. Our main meals took over another half hour. My wife ordered the Pollo Franchise and I order the Pollo Lemoncello. The Pollo Franchise was delivered cold with the pasta over cooked and mush. The Pollo Lemoncello was soaked in a milky sauce that had no flavor. I gave my dish to my wife and had her dish sent back to the kitchen to have it re-heated. Upon return, the dish lost all its presentation, and while it did return hot, it had not flavor. All in, we waited over an hour only to be greeted with two very tasteless and unappealing dinners. While we did wait quite long for our food, this was not on account of our waitress. She was very friendly and was trying to be as attentive as possible. If I were to pinpoint the problem, I would say it appears to be emanating from their kitchen. Likely under staffed and the staff they have lacking competence. Given our experience, I do not think we will be returning to this restaurant anytime soon. A lot of clean up here to do. read more
