My only complaint was the enchiladas verde dinner was so tiny- it looked like a child's meal, and my dining companion was still totally hungry after. I ordered the pizzabirria and it was absolutely delicious and HUGE. I would most definitely return, but strongly suggest avoiding the embarrassingly tiny enchiladas.

We were going to need to stop by Lowe's anyway to pick up a hose clamp for securing the dryer vent hose (prior owners used zip ties for that purpose...really?) so we decided to try out Azul after our painters provided positive experiences after eating lunch there. It was a late lunch so the place wasn't packed. We were seated immediately...place seemed spacious and had a lively vibe with various tequila-themed neon signs. I ordered their carnitas plate and my wife chose the spinach quesadilla WITHOUT mushrooms off the lunch special menu. The tortilla chips were warm but the salsa, while decent, tasted sweet and lacked some punch. When our meals were served, it became apparent that my wife's quesadilla had plenty of mushrooms, even after the server repeated my wife's order of no mushrooms. I couldn't wait for our server to return with her meal so I proceeded to sample their carnitas. When I initially asked our server how their carnitas were, she said they're "pretty good"...and I would think the carnitas were just OK. My wife, once her meal was served after what felt like a long wait, liked her quesadilla. She thought the spinach flavor shined through. All in all, a decent meal with nice presentation that would suffice if we were hankering for Mexican food and didn't want to drive far. Lunch for 2 with tip came out to about $36.

The food is consistently SO good, and we've always had great service. First of all--the chips are basically crack. They're warm, crispy, perfectly salty, and genuinely impossible to stop eating, especially with the guac and salsa. I usually get the chicken chimichanga, and the portion is HUGE. For around $15, I can easily get two meals out of it, which feels like such a good value these days. It's loaded with chicken, covered in queso, and comes with rice, guacamole, and pico. So good! Vida is also a great birthday spot, especially for bigger groups. They can accommodate large tables, and they really go all out when someone is celebrating, which makes it feel extra fun and special. Great atmosphere, consistently good food, generous portions, good service, and reasonable prices.

My only complaints would be that the music is a little loud, and with the restaurant being packed, there doesn't seem to be much acoustical treatment to help with the noise, so it can get a bit overwhelming. Our server also could've been a little more attentive throughout the evening. Other than that, we had a good experience and enjoyed our dinner!

We ordered the Elotes off the cob ($11.99) and the Molcajete ($30) which is grilled fajita steak, chicken, chorizo, shrimp, onions, nopal cactus and cheese. We also ordered one Margarita ($16). We first experienced a Molcajete in a restaurant in Mazatlan, Mexico and fell in love with it and all of its ingredients including the cactus. This Molcajete at Cocina Maya was soooo tasty. Served in an actual Molcajete which is made from lava rock and it holds the heat very very well. We shared this between the two of us and still had a decent amount to bring home with us. The Elotes was very tasty and the corn was nice and firm and it was perfect. Service was friendly and attentive. The dining room is light in colors and there is a lot of light that shines through the windows. This restaurant is a good distance from our home, and well worth the drive to it. We most definitely recommend this tasty restaurant.

The server was extremely friendly and accommodating. He made sure to get the chips and salsa out quickly to help my hangry children. We were only able to order cheese enchiladas. Definitely plan to come again when the kiddos are in a better mood and try more of the menu!

There are plenty of Mexican restaurants in the area where we can choose to spend our hard-earned money and, just as importantly, our time, so unfortunately this first experience was disappointing. When we walked in, it was hot and humid and smelled like Fabuloso cleaner. I asked the host about happy hour and all she could tell us was that it ended at 6. We were seated, and several minutes passed before our server greeted us. We ordered drinks and asked for a water as well. We were ready to order our food, but first I asked her to confirm whether burritos were $12 that day, since their Instagram has advertised $12 burritos on Wednesdays as a daily special since June. She seemed unsure and said she would check. About 10 minutes later, she returned with our drinks and asked if we were ready to order, but never gave us an answer about the special. I had to ask again, and she then confirmed that the burritos were $12. We ordered our burritos along with a side of maduros. My husband had just gotten off the golf course and was very thirsty, but his water still hadn't arrived. Our server wasn't coming back around, so when the host walked by, he politely asked if she could please get our server. Unfortunately, she seemed to forget and went back to the host stand. A few minutes later, our food arrived, but we still had no water, silverware, or napkins. We waited a couple more minutes until we finally saw our server and had to ask for silverware and napkins so we could actually eat our food. She brought those over along with the water. We were already halfway through our meal when we saw her walking by again and had to remind her about the maduros. She said, "Oh yeah," checked on them, and finally brought them out. The food itself was okay, but the service was extremely inconsistent and inattentive. We shouldn't have to repeatedly track down our server for water, silverware, napkins, an answer about an advertised special, and a side dish we ordered. I really wanted to enjoy this place based on the reviews, but for a first visit, it unfortunately didn't leave us feeling like we would choose to come back, especially with so many other Mexican restaurants in the area competing for our business.

First thing when you walk in this restaurant smells very clean. Not overpowering but the reassuring smell that they take food safety seriously. They are located in a Publix shopping plaza and have booths, tables and a bar with stools. I sat in a booth and came specifically for lunch because Amanda, another Yelper, had called out the deals. I was really impressed with their salsa. Usually I want queso but this had such a fresh taste and to me had an old school chunky texture you rarely find. I ate way too many of the complimentary chips and salsa. I ordered the lunch ribeye and the lunch chicken fajitas. The fajitas came out in the traditional sizzling presentation. They tasted as good as they looked with all the fixings. The steak was for later. A lot of time a thin lunch steak does not come out to a medium rare. This was spot on and the steak was juicy and tender. A really good steak! Both meals came with tortillas that maybe were homemade? The server greeted me and took my order right away. I had asked for some modifications and I thought it was nice she repeated them back to me so the kitchen would get it right. My bill was presented and quickly processed on a handheld device. Overall the ambiance of this restaurant is a neighborhood family place. I appreciated that they offer extremely neat bathrooms and a selfie wall for celebrations.
