My only complaints would be that the music is a little loud, and with the restaurant being packed, there doesn't seem to be much acoustical treatment to help with the noise, so it can get a bit overwhelming. I got the Amor y Vida and it was as pretty as it was delicious. The tajin rim gave a nice kick to this sweet drink. I need to come back and try more of their uniquely presented drinks. For food we started with chips and salsa. Give me chips in a flowerpot and suddenly I am fancy. Then we ordered the Tostones and Plantain Roll with Salmon. Just a heads up, do not order any additional meat or seafood with the Tostones. This dish is fabulous on it's own. The Plantain Roll was an unexpected combination that my tastebuds thoroughly enjoyed. It was definitely not your typical sushi roll. We sat at the bar and our bartender took great care of us. My wife and I met a friend here for dinner to celebrate his birthday. We had never set foot inside, but as we approached the restaurant, the exterior lights and decorations seemed festive and welcoming. Inside, the fun, loud atmosphere, our table enjoyed great service from Alejandra. My wife ordered the steak fajitas, with choice of flour or corn tortillas. The steak was seasoned and grilled for a tender and delicious taco. The abundance of the dish meant we had leftovers for lunch the next day! I ordered a Mexican Old Fashioned and enjoyed the smoke, Mezcal, and Buffalo Trace. It "hit the spot" for this celebration and our fajita dish. Chips and salsa arrive at the table, for free, before the meal. I enjoyed the crunch and the spice. For the (paid) birthday celebration, the VIDA Cocina staff brought a lighted ballon display, a small torch on a bottle, and a huge cake, and then enthusiastically sang a birthday song. They have two sections inside the restaurant one feels like more calm for families as the other side is more like bar atmosphere very aesthetically pleasing the outside bar area is amazing once the weather is cooler the drinks insane the patron margarita is a go to. It was full of flavor, especially the VIDA Margarita and the Grilled Chicken Chimichanga with mexican rice and refried beans I got. It was my girlfriend's bday and I loved how they sang Happy Birthday as they presented the most expensive dessert offered which was called Euphoria, which is a chocolate skull that the staff light up in flames. The beef from the beef enchiladas, dry and very lean and stringy for some reason. I don't understand, we go to a Mexican restaurant to eat good enchiladas not super Uber healthy meatless, fat list dry meat! I like the service because the waiter was phenomenal, I like their chips, and I absolutely love their verde sauce that they put on the enchiladas. That sauce was the best part! We went on Saturday around 630 to celebrate my best friend's birthday and the restaurant was busy with nearly every table full of folks. We took a high chair table and I grew to regret it since the seat part felt a bit small and was rigid. Our server Marisol was friendly and really great at getting our drinks and foods quickly to us. We opened up with the chips and queso ($10) which was not grainy at all. It was one of the most delicious queso dips I've had the pleasure of eating. For my drink, I went with the mango tamarindo which has spicy Tamarindo vodka, mezcal and ancho reyes and they made it have a good kick of alcohol. The glass was a skeleton head with tasty salt around the eyes ($17), my bestie got the clandestina which was good from the sip I tested ($15). I went with their sushi offerings once more, one roll of mazunte and the other was Mexico mi amor. Mazunte has raw salmon, tuna and topped off with crab salad which was an entire treat ($24) and the not raw Mexico mi amor was a smaller sized roll with salmon, tuna, guac, spicy mayo and jalapeños all in a tempura roll ($23). My best friend ordered the steak chimichanga ($18) which looked amazing. If you go on the weekend, good luck finding parking but once you get seated, the food is going to be amazing. read more
