Once you're able to speak to a doctor or a social work or anyone that has a higher degree, you will find your needs are met. There is a willingness to listen to the patient and the patient's family, which is very much appreciated. The problem is with the patient facing positions in the hospital. There just seems to be a general lack of empathy, that's probably because of where the hospital is placed in the South Bronx which is traditionally an impoverished area. I have found that most of the businesses here tend to have workers that reflect the depressing environment. Communication is lacking among the workers. One team doesn't know what the others are doing. I suggest you use Teams or some kind of encrypted messaging system where you can communicate with your fellow workers. I think that would make it easier for you as healthcare workers. I give this hospital 3/5 because of the following incident: I would like to share this is a warning when I called the ER- one of the workers hung the phone up on me after refusing to give me her name. The second worker refused to give me any further information other than the relative was not there. Some relatives of patience probably won't complain, because of the fear of patient retaliation, but to be mindful who you are addressing and who you are lying to in future This is a violation of hospital policy. I would tell anybody that's reading this from the hospital administration to ensure that your workers understand their responsibilities are careful with whom they are speaking with. They just don't know who's on the other side of the line. I could just have easily been audit controller from the federal government, so be careful that you are follow government , state and local guidelines . read more

My elderly mom was taken there by EMS bec the hospital that she is usually taken to was too full. At first I was worried bec Lincoln hospital, unfortunately has a bad reputation. I was so surprised to see how efficient everyone worked together. While there I couldn't believe how many trauma patients coming in there and how hard and fast the doctors work to save their lives! The gentleman that greeted me at the front to get into the emergency room was so kind and helpful. Another lady walked me to the area where my mother was in the ER so willingly. The nurse's were so nice to my mom and helpful and the doctor's were so attentive and available. After she was admitted the staff on the 7th floor (C) and the 6th floor (C) were amazing, very gentle and caring with my mom who at times could be difficult bec she has the beginning of dementia. I really enjoyed being able to go see her there and the medical attention that she received was top of the line. I'm proud to say that I live near that hospital and that we have such a gem in the heart of the Bronx!!! read more

Sit & please read the review so you really know not to go here. My friend went to the ER at 10pm on Saturday with a 104 fever, stomach aches, diarrhea, headaches and dizzy. He wasn't admitted until the next day Sunday at 4pm (18hrs waiting for a bed) with extreme pain, we were taken to the ICU floor the 9 floor, when we get upstairs there are so many empty beds and rooms so I'm not sure why he had to wait so long. Once there, the monitors go off for SO LONG for all the patients with all kinds of alarms indicating that's something is wrong with the patients. NOBODY, ABSOLUTELY NOBODY came to check on my friend even though the monitors and alarms were going off insanely. The monitors are there for decoration and to make noise but they do not give a shit about them going off. If a patient's heart rate decreases significantly or goes to zero, just know that patient will die because nobody is going to come regardless of how loud the machines are indicating something is wrong. They tell you to press the button if you need a nurse but press it and WAIT because that nurse isn't coming any time soon. The least the could do is allow a family member to stay with the patient over night (which they don't do) so they can help out if they need anything since the nurses take forever to come to the room. Bathroom was CLOGGED. Doctors (every time a different one) would come ONCE in the entire day and then you would never see them again. You ask the nurses or staff a question and nobody knows or they will tell you to go ask the doctor, then the doctor would tell you go ask the nurse then the nurse will say I DONT KNOW. Genuinely anybody is better off at home than at this place. I know there were many nice people that work there but the way this hospital runs I'm not sure how is it still open. This will sound insane but the experience at this place was so bad that I pray I am never taken here consciously because I would not walk in those doors willingly. This is the WORST hospital i been to ever. I got taken here as en emergency in school so my mother didnt have a choice. I was sick AF , pale as a ghost, lips were yellow i was dizzy and my vomit was yellow without eating nothing. First off the doctor NEVER even saw me. They only sent in nurses. AND THAT CHINESE LADY IS SO IRRESPOSIBLE!!! FIRE HER. She made me do a pee test and did NOT even write my name on it. Then i had to take another pee test again cus THAT IRRESPOIBLE CHINESE NURSE LOST IT SINCE SHE DID NOT PUT MY NAME ON IT!!!. They took literally about 20 minutes to give me my test back, and they came back with papers and a "you can go home now." UMMM!?!??! And also they took so FUCKING LONG TO admit me to a bed. I arrived at 11AM and got admitted to a bed at 1PM. WTF?!? And btw im 14 so i got taken to the children side. But they literally ignore you. When i was getting admitted to my room, literally half of the nurses are just sitting there, eating, on their phones, laughing and having the time of their lives. AND THEY STILL TOOK SO LONG TO SEE ME! I got in my room at 1Pm and the nurse saw me at 2:30 PM?! WHAT IS THIS!! DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU WANNA DIE. FULL OF CRACKHEADS ANYWAYS I MEAN IDK WHAT I EXPECTED. My friend Angellyh Yambo got admitted here when she was shot, and she unfortunaley passed away. There's no communication between the doctors or hospital staff. When you show up for your appointment on time you wait for hours. The doctors and staff are too lazy to call or obtain patient information. They waste your time without tending to you, it's the worst hospital that I've been to. I have blood clots and I'm on blood thinners. I needed a procedure done and instead of checking me to make sure that I was ok they just sent me home knowing that I've been hospitalized for clots in the past. My brother was shot on thursday, has since had surgery and had to be be put in a private room and there has been no ac the whole time he has been in there and he is burning up. Everytime we call the floor, the nurses either don't pick up or have an attitude. Administration isn't doing shit! They were made aware of the room having no ac since thursday. Windows can't be open since they are sealed shut. They yells at my brother each time he moves because he's burning the he'll up. This hospital shouldn't be in service. He was rushed to the hospital bc it was the nearest one and he needed to be operated on quickly. We have spent all day calling and being met with attitude. So now my handicap father has to go to the hospital to argue with whoever he needs to to get ac in that room or he's taking my brother home today. My dad died and he was taken to this hospital. The nurses mistakenly wrote his ethnicity to Caucasian instead of Asian/Filipino. So his death certificate needed to be change. I tried calling them to change this and it took me three days to get hold of someone to tell me how to correct that information. I was transferred to different people until the third day someone who has a brain was able to tell me how it can be change. Then I asked her if I can get hold of his medical records so she transferred me to another extension this other lady was like talking to a brick! She has no empathy to someone who just loss a father. I asked her how to get his medical records and she told me I have to walk in and bring his death certificate and my ID. I told her I'm in California and with Covid I cannot travel so is there any other like sending documents over email? Picture being stuck in this hospital for seven days. Yes I survived, but I had to literally pass out after sitting in my own blood for over six hours and then finally be brought to SICU, where I will say most of the staff where great. However, when I made it to the six floor the horror began. I was placed in a room with a woman that wanted to drink and party and curse (thank God she snuck out to do so). Then the room was filthy including the bathroom. O was grossed out and when I complained the housekeeping man came in my room and proceeded to try and argue with me. the doctors are OK, the nurses and staff are lazy, they are only there for a paycheck they are not there to help ANYONE. the person in the bed next to me died for clear negligence, the blood pressure machine stopped for a whole 30 minutes before anyone came to check on him and the only reason the did check on him was because i called for different reason. this was on 3/1/19 room 126. a few hours later the staff was in the hallway joking and acting as usual and i couldn't even get help after. please STAY AWAY!!! read more
