I can't say enough nice things about Sandy's dance center. I started attending adult tap classes…read morejust over two years ago when they were located in downtown Napa. Sandy is a lovely dancer and very knowledgeable in a variety of styles. She teaches because it is what she loves. Why do something else, or retire, when you can dance? The studio is now located in Yountville at the Lincoln theater. It is a wonderful location, very peaceful, plus, it feels exciting to be rehearsing inside a theater that has hosted so many phenomenal performances over the year. (My favorite actor has walked on the same floor that I tap dance on ever week. How fun is that?) There are a variety of dance styles taught and a variety of age groups. For adults she currently has beginning tap and intermediate tap. Children's classes include ballet, tap, contemporary jazz, creative movement (3-4 year olds), ballet, tap, jazz, ballet/tap/jazz (combo class), pointe, and ballet/tap/jazz (7-8 year olds). Most of the children's classes have multiple skill level classes. She puts on a recital each year, with each class performing one or more numbers and always highlighting her 10 year students as well as honoring the graduating seniors. Sandy is clear in her instruction and is often willing to help out if you need extra help. Her prices can't be beat, nor can her sincerity for the love of dance be outdone. I highly recommend this studio!

She always seemed like she was trying to hard to be nice. Also there were a few moms that were very rude to me. Such a fun place to do wine tastings. The hospitality team is amazing. Sean Robinson, the…read morehospitality director, really aligns very quickly to what his clients like and make great recommendations. It's a very laid back environment focused on Yountville and local artists. We recently attended a winemaker meet and greet event there. Keith Emerson, the winemaker, was very personable with a plethora of information to share. I highly recommend a visit to the Yount Room. If you like white wine blends (Sauvignon Blanc and Semilon) , try the Hibou wine from Cornerstone. Keith Emerson is the winemaker maker.

The award for best array of wines ever offered at a tasting goes to The Yount Room…read more Let me clarify: this is an award I've created, in my own head. I like wine (reds, specifically) and those featured here were the most aromatic and enjoyable lot I've ever sampled. Having been a one-time member of Conn Creek I received an invitation to a (complimentary) tasting here, as they morphed from Cornerstone Cellars into The Yount Room. The Yount Room features Cornerstone wines but also the wines of others lacking tasting rooms, including some like Conn Creek, whose tasting room was lost in the fires. Situated in Yountville's historic old railway station, the interior space is a stylish hybrid tasting room/retail space. A record player and a stack of vinyl called out and host exemplar, Sean, was agreeable to spinning whatever we (the sole customers at the time) requested. Stones hits played to a Bossa Nova beat and Memphis lilts from Dusty Springfield made the visit quite perfect but without such perfect wines it'd be a lot less so. The Yount Room does tastings as well as wines by the glass and I can't wait to return for the latter. I don't know what's on their "by the glass" list but if it's anything like what was served at the tasting* it'd be impossible to go astray. * Tasting included: - Hibou, 2024 Sauvignon Blanc, Winemaker: Keith Emerson - Status Quo, 2024 Pinot Noir, Winemaker: Adam Lee - Cornerstone, 2021 Cabernet Franc, Winemaker: Kari Arranger - Cain, 2021 Cain Fire, Winemaker: Chris Howell - Conn Creek, 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon, Winemaker: Jean Hoeflinger

Now I know there was a failed museum in Napa that focused on wine and food called COPIA. However, I…read morewasn't aware that there's been a local art museum next to Chandon in Yountville since 1972 until Jamie read about the special tiki bar exhibition running until the end of this month, "Tiki Dreams: From Far Away Fantasy to Pop Culture Phenomenon". Definitely up our alley. Well, given our recent run on patronizing tiki bars here and abroad, we just had to go. We went up on a recent Saturday, and the museum was crowded with tiki aficionados. It turned out Bank of America was sponsoring an admission-free day, so we took advantage and became engulfed in what felt like a claustrophobic space that was equal parts arts & crafts fair and vintage memorabilia. There was definite entertainment value if you miss this mid-century phenomenon. There were other exhibition rooms, but we weren't made aware of them by the staff. Perusing the website, I noticed some interesting past exhibitions like "The Great California Road Trip 1962", something that appeals to my baby boomer sensibilities. Next to Chandon and close to other attractions, this might be worthy of a return visit. RELATED - Exploring north of San Francisco? The largest exhibit is in the main building on the ground floor with the admissions desk and gift shop. The tiki exhibit itself was quaint and small. Mugs, old menus, photos and history of tiki bars, one set of Witco chairs and table, plus a hand built bar by local artist Woody Miller. Interesting to see but ultimately a quick walk through maybe intended more for those looking for nostalgia. They were selling tiki merchandise and mugs at inflated prices at the gift shop. Mugs that were $150 at the original events are being marked up and sold for $230. Almost all of the gift shop merch was overpriced. The other two exhibits downstairs were small and it smelled of sulfur or sewage since they are located below the bathrooms.. Really off putting. We looked through mini masterpieces and Great California Road Trip exhibits in at most 15 minutes and left. Entry to the museum is $15 per person... We went during Bank Of America's Museum on Us which takes place every first full weekend of the month. Bring your Bank of America credit or debit card and entry is free. Luckily one of us got in for free with this promo.
