Best donut in Ankeny. Staffed well, I have never waited even when the place is packed.

I'm definitely going back to try other things on their menu, I got their Japanese Toast with bananas and strawberries and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It was delicious. They set the bar high for next time. It was worthy of a high end restaurant dessert and the price was more than reasonable. For those of you who haven't been to Ocha, please give it a try, you won't regret it.

I ended up outside of the Ankeny location before they opened. I was trying to locate what I had enjoyed at the previous visit, but I couldn't remember, so I just went inside. The young woman behind the counter was attentive and happy to help me pick out a good drink. I remembered that it was a fruit tea with the fruit bursts. The place was bright and clean, just like my last visit. It was nice to see that the choices were the same and looked just as good as before. I asked her what her favorite was, and we were able to get a good drink together. I really like the little flavor bursts that you can add to the drink. She had the drink up shortly after that. (Yelp has a check-in coupon) It didn't take long for me to have it gone. It was really good and with the great customer service I know I will be back again.

I knew we were in the right place when we walked I. And half of the restaurant were Vietnamese peeps. Was a warming experiencing hearing patrons throw a few traditional Lunar New Year greetings at each other and the owners. It's a small mom and pop shop, so much so, pop was the sole soldier working the entire front of the house. As such, don't expect super fast service, but good service nonetheless. We started with the fresh spring rolls, which were good, and their fried egg rolls, which I probably won't order again. The egg rolls were pretty much veggies, loosely filled, and served with a sweet and sour type dipping sauce. It was more of an Americanized Chinese style egg roll, not a Vietnamese cha gio with nouc cham. I ordered the pho dac biet and it was VERY good. The large is HUGE. Most places back home have suffered from shrink-flation and large bowls are tiny now. Not this place, I struggled to finish the bowl. My friends got the seafood pho, and another got the pho ga (chicken). I of course did not slide my chopsticks in theirs and swipe a bite, but they said they enjoyed theirs. I would definitely come back here again and maybe try some of their other dishes.

My son was thrilled with his sprinkle donut, especially with the fun, non-standard colors like blue and green. My husband's apple fritter had a strong cinnamon flavor with bits of apple; it was a bit crunchier on the edges than we expected, but still delicious. We got an old fashioned for our one-year-old, and it was the perfect choice - not too sweet, nor sticky. The big surprise was the breakfast sausage sandwiches my husband and son ordered. The high-quality egg, sausage, and cheese on a fresh croissant were fantastic. I took a bite and was truly impressed, especially for the price... under $5 is very reasonable for the size. I was waffling over the Kona iced coffee, so a worker kindly gave me a sample. It was stronger, sweeter, and creamier than I expected, so I happily purchased a cup. The shop itself is small and can get a bit crowded, so it's probably not the best spot if you're planning to sit and eat inside. We will definitely be back the next time we're in Ankeny though. I can already imagine grabbing donuts and coffee to enjoy at the park with the kids once the weather warms up!
