I am currently a patient at the dental offices of the Winterset Dental Care facility in Chicago,…read moreIL. I have searched for dental facilities that perform services for myself because I've always struggled to maintain my teeth. I m pleased with the administrative support personnel, who are polite and professional. The dental hygienists are thorough and work at a decent pace plus the dental bag you received after treatment is a plus. I found each doctor that provided and conducted the needed specialized care I needed to preserve my teeth; however, there was no pressure in terms of the stages and cost factors. The administrative team quickly provided me with financial backing so that I can do the work in a timely matter, pay as I go along, and finish with a healthier mouth with implants and my own teeth.

I schedule a general dental appointment. The dentist advised fillings only last for 5-7 years. He…read morerecommended I replace all my upper teeth with implants. This was a few days before Thanksgiving. I wanted to think it over. The dentist advised if it didn't occur during that visit. It will not occur onto the following year. For over 15 minutes the dentist pressured me to remove my upper teeth. He also stated I shouldn't leave money on the table, I could miss Thanksgiving Dinner with my children who traveled to Chicago for the gathering. Dr. Anil K. Agarwal also gave me some of the sermons/cassettes he published. Nevertheless, I attempt to leave. The Office Assistant hurried to inform Dr. Agarwal of my decision to leave. He swiftly confronted me , blocked the pathway and continued to pressure me to remove my upper teeth. I mentioned my blood pressure was elevated. Dr. Agarwal stated he spoke with the surgeon and that I was okay to proceed. Later, I found out my blood pressure was elevated due to chronic kidney disease. Surely, Dr. Agarwal was looking out for his pockets while making disparaging remarks about other dentists. I paid for six bone grafts. To date, I do not have implants. Dr. Agarwal attempted to sell me some upper dentures. I was extremely clear that dentures wouldn't work for me. The Office staff was pleasant. Needless to say, I' do NOT trust Dr. Agarwal and recommend do a deep dive before visiting his office. The google reviews are flawed. You're pressed to provide the control feedback before your procedures. It's really based on the interactions with the receptionist.

Iyad my hygienist is the best. I previously came from an office in Orland that was trying to be some sort of dental spa where I felt like I was being pressured to do unnecessary, overpriced procedures. Oak Lawn Family Dental is no BS, man.

I had an appointment on December 18, 2025, which I believed was scheduled for a cleaning. When I…read moremade the appointment, the receptionist asked what I was coming in for, and I specifically stated a cleaning since it had been a while. I was also receiving text messages and emails reminding me to come in, which further reinforced that understanding. When I arrived, I still assumed I was there for a cleaning. A staff member took X-rays, explaining they were needed since it had been some time to check for cavities or other issues. After the X-rays, I clearly stated that I was only there for a cleaning and did not want any work done that would not be covered by my dental insurance. I was told this would be checked. I was then informed that Dentis Choi would examine my teeth. I was told I had two cavities, decay, a chipped tooth, and a baby tooth that never grew in something I've known about for years and was previously told did not need treatment if it wasn't causing issues. After sharing this information, the dentist left the room without explaining next steps. I assumed she had stepped out briefly and that my teeth would still be cleaned. Instead, another staff member came in to review a treatment plan. At that point, I expressed that I was confused and reiterated that I had come in for a cleaning. I was then told the hygienists were backed up and that there must have been a miscommunication. I agreed and explained that this process should have been clearly communicated when the appointment was scheduled that an exam and treatment plan discussion would take place before any cleaning. That expectation was never explained. I was then asked to sign a treatment plan for cavity fillings totaling $280. I declined, explaining that I was not comfortable committing to payment when I came in solely for a cleaning and circumstances could change before a return visit. I was told I should sign before the end of the year because the cost could increase with my insurance next year. I thanked her for the information. I returned on December 23, 2025, for my cleaning. Check-in went smoothly, and the front desk staff were friendly. The dental assistant prepped me, and the hygienist introduced herself and explained that she would be cleaning my teeth. During the cleaning, water began dripping down my mouth. Although it was mentioned and briefly addressed, the water continued to drip down my neck and onto my back, leaving the back of my shirt wet for the remainder of the appointment. I understand that some water is normal during a dental cleaning, but I have never experienced that level of dripping. Typically, minor drips are immediately addressed to ensure patient comfort. I was also unsure why the hygienist required an assistant throughout the cleaning, as in my experience hygienists usually perform cleanings independently, with the dentist coming in afterward. At the end of the appointment, the hygienist recommended scheduling a visit to complete the cavity fillings. I explained that my previous interaction with Dentist Choi was unpleasant due to the lack of communication and that I would not feel comfortable having her complete the procedure. Overall, the front desk staff were pleasant, but the lack of clear communication and attention to patient comfort made this a frustrating experience. I requested for my x-rays and files to look for a new dentist.

I applied for a credit card and was approved for $4,000 but had decided at that point not to continue with the procedure. Well, they took the credit card and used it to pay for dentures which I had not and did not approve and when I approached them about it I was told this was protocol, that is absurd I never consented to them to use the credit card for that purpose. I had to take them to small claims court to get this matter resolved. Please do not go to that dentist office for services they are horrible.
