Hi, my name is Courtney and I'd rather scoop out my own eyeballs with two rusty spoons than step…read morefoot in a dentist's office. Like...for.really.real. Because of a particularly traumatic dental experience ages ago, I took a dental-visit hiatus for, uh, a few years. Maybe more than a few years. And then, you know, five kids, etc. Wellllll, my littlest is now in school full day so I have no excuse to neglect my oral health a minute longer. SIGH. Fine. I'll go, I said to myself, but I'll hate it. I'll go, but it's going to be awful. Terrible. THE WORST THING EVER. Knowing my teeth were a bit...rough, I asked to go exam first instead of jumping into a full-blown cleaning. Enter Lea, the angel of teeth. Perhaps she's the real life Tooth Fairy? I don't know. But what I do know is this: this woman is magic. She was my starting point: she's the hygienist and took all my x-rays, did a preliminary exam, etc. You know how some people just WAFT goodness and kindness? Yeah, that's Lea. Knowing my intense anxiety, she explained everything every step of the way and checked in on my comfort throughout. She's a great conversationalist and it really helped me to stay calm and not obsessively focused on my mouth. I met Dr. Carly briefly at this point, but my first two appointments were with Lea (the first aforementioned and then a second one for another round of "deep cleaning"). Today's appointment was all Dr. Carly and she is *awesome*. I spent all last night tossing and turning and lamenting and even before we started...ugh, I was riddled with anxiety. But here's the thing: Dr. Carly is a gentle dentist with incredible precision and she's not at all shy with the novocaine. My appointment was this morning and I'm still pretty numb at almost five at night. Trust me...I am *not* complaining. I didn't feel a THING while she worked her magic. And now I am officially cavity free. She checked in on my comfort throughout, asked me if I needed breaks, etc. I felt like she was truly concerned with my comfort and sought to make this experience entirely positive. She succeeded. And then some. Additional-but-entirely-necessary-shout-outs: Olga was Dr. Carly's assistant today and she, too, is incredibly sweet--so friendly and personable. Helen, who runs the office, is both ridiculously patient (I'm a scheduling nightmare) and mind-blowingly organized. She was also able to unsnarl the dental insurance snafu and knew exactly what was covered before I was even finished with my x-rays at visit #1. Amazing. The entire office environment is SO positive and so perfect for the "high anxiety patient" (hi, that's clearly me). You immediately feel like you're surrounded by friends of yours. It's such a welcoming practice. Seriously so. If you've been on the fence about seeking dental care because you have moderate-to-severe dental anxiety, this is the place you NEED to call. While I'm sorry I put it off for so long, I'm so very, very grateful I found Oak Forest Family Dental. Dr. Carly, Lea, the whole team...just incredible. :)

Several members of the group raved about the excellent services provided at mcgonigle dental associates. I was looking for a dental office closer to my home. Seeing that the office is 10 min from my home is a bonus! I read reviews literally for just about everything lol. The reviews on Google, Yelp and social media for this office is outstanding! I decided to give them a call and make an appointment. The lady on the phone was very kind and friendly. On the day of my appointment, I was blown away with how swanky this dental office is. The decor is beautiful, clean and the complimentary water, tea, fancy coffee they offer is thoughtful. Gina, was my hygienist and I had the pleasure of meeting Doctor Mcgonigle. Gina is warm, funny and is very personable! She made my visit a delight Doctor Mcgongile is so cool and his bedside manners is excellent. I was so impressed with my visit that I told my husband and family they should stop seeing their dentist and come to Mcgonigle dental associates My husband has a fear of needles and had an terrible experience at a previous dental office. I remember sharing this with Gina and Dr. Mcgonigle and they assured they would be gentle with my husband. Fast forward to one month ago, my husband made an appointment for a cleaning as well as for a root canal. He said, the doctor was super friendly-they even struck a conversation about cars. (My husband is a car enthusiast) most importantly, my husband was not afraid of the treatment/procedure. He looks forward to his dental visits and that's because of the outstanding service he received at mcgonigle dental associates. Fast forward to my 2nd appointment for my six month cleaning and fillings. Hygenist, Gina greeted me and remembered me. She even asked about my son (great memory) which was really sweet. Once my cleaning was finished, I was greeted by Lisa E who assisted the doctor (I think her name is ashley) with my fillings. Lisa is super sweet, warm and has a good sense of humor. I don't like needles and she helped eased my anxiousness by assuring me everything will be fine and if I needed to take a break then, let her know. She let me pick out a movie to watch while I had my fillings replaced. I chose father of the bride (love that movie) my dentist, Ashley is kind, personable and down to earth. I have two flexible spending cards, and I needed to split the payment on 2 cards for today's visit. Front desk personnel, Alyssa, was able to put the invoices on the receipt so that I can properly submit the invoice to my FSA providers. She too, was very helpful and friendly! Great staff and great services, what more can you ask for?! Book your appointment today-your teeth and gums will thank you!

Shout out to Dr Angel Fraizer !!! I am so very grateful that…read moreyou have been my dentist this past year, changed my view of dentist.....Fast Forward Now the doctor Frazier's gone I found another dentist realizing that just because I was on Medicaid I was treated badly no emergency appointments Regular patients when you get a cleaning they give you a complementary toothbrush toothpaste and floss Medicare patients get nothing they wanted to pull my teeth and just leave me with gums for months until they can get you in for then partials I had a root canal done at UIC when I went to the dentist they made a temporary and broke off my tooth that had the root canal so now that tooth has to be pulled and I have to get a flipper. They gave me a referral to go to UIC to get my teeth pulled, told me to wait for them to call me a year later of yet to hear from UIC Finally I went to another dentist and they are fixing my teeth and while I'm waiting for some crowns they gave me temporary teeth So if you have regular insurance you're fine if your Medicaid you're just a payment to them one specific dentist to treat all the Medicaid customers no frills no thrills they overwork the one dentist that they have treating Medicaid people and the appointments are so far booked out because you're on Medicaid it's a shame no longer on Medicaid but I doubt I will ever go to this dentist again upon reflection these people are not nice to people that are on Medicaid so if you got regular insurance you could go there staff is wonderful but I the restrictions they put on patients that have Medicaid is horrible, why bother taking Medicaid Shame on the owners for treating Medicare patients like they're third class citizens shame on you

It's just when the actual root canal need to take place they dropped the ball. They made me feel so awful and so small and so belittled. I would not go to them again.
