I will say the food is good, BUT the service wasn't. Our waitress screwed up two of our three orders and I had to go up and ask for our check. We had a restaurant.com voucher and she said to use it they had to add gratuity (which I still would've gave but not the 20% they added on) which was not in the terms of service stated on restaurant.com's voucher upon purchase or at all. I would drive to Elk River and go to Old Main Eatery. Better food, better service, and if using a groupon or restaurant.com voucher they use theirs towards the meal. This place was great home cooking at a reasonable price. I had the Apple fritter chicken sandwich and the potato salad. A chicken sandwich made with apple fritter bread sounds crazy but it is delicious. I just wished I had enough room for the desserts but maybe next time. read more

Pros: Hometown feel, small Ma and Pop shop and clean. Cons: Food is bland, hours not convenient, no local coupons and did I say food is bland. I have eaten two times at this restaurant. The first time I ordered a Club Sandwich and my wife ordered chicken fried steak. The sandwich and fries lacked flavor (bland). My wife said her meal wasn't good either. The second time, I ordered a Cheeseburger. It was the blandest burger I've eaten in awhile. No seasoning or flavor to the burger. Plus, the fries were over-cooked. And, to be picky, the server didn't refill my drink when it was empty. (my personal pet-peeve). We have no plans of eating here again anytime soon. read more

I've been to Linda's several times and loved it every time. The food is great - especially breakfast and has that great "small town" feel. Our waitress was sweet but the woman running the cafe (maybe Linda, not sure) was not friendly at all. She delievered our food by just setting it down and walking away without asking if we need anything else and actually didn't say one word to us. When we went to pay I pulled out my American Express and she (same unpleasent woman) told me they don't take it and walked away irritated while my sister and I tried to figure it out. Our waitress could tell we were flustered (we were $2 short) and came over and said "Happy Mothers Day" don't worrry about it at all. We were able to pay our full amount and her tip - but just the fact she offered was great. Having someone run the resturant who is so unpleasant would send me somewhere else. read more

I am/was a regular at Linda's but the last 2 times had really bad experiences. Thinking last time was a fluke was there today for breakfast and they forgot the cream cheese in the strawberry french toast for both my wife and daughters meal ( kind of the main ingredient). I live about a mile from Lindas' Café, so I have been there often, and I have been disappointed every single time. I do not know why I keep going back. The food is not very good, and the service is ALWAYS terrible. I brought my dad there this morning for breakfast since it is Veteran's Day and he happens to be one. He asked for his hash browns to be prepared "extra crispy", to have lots of fried onions, and to have a piece of American cheese on top. How hard is it to get that right? Apparently, something was lost in translation along the way because his hash browns came out super soggy, with NO onions whatsoever. They were not even browned at all. I couldn't believe it. I was angry because it took a lot of work for me to get my kids out the door that early to take their grandpa out for breakfast, and we wanted to treat him to something special. I could have EASILY made a much better breakfast at home, and then my dad would not have been disappointed. My kids had to watch us eat for 10 minutes before their food came out. Why could we not eat together? When we go to a restaurant, we expect to eat at the same time. How hard is it to throw a couple of French toast sticks into the fryer at the same time you make the other two breakfasts? As for my meal, I had a classic ranch skillet. There were three tiny pieces of green pepper on top. Nothing special. Our server did not smile, was not pleasant in the least, and did not refill our drinks. Food is ok: service- unless you are white caucasian - its not great. My wife is caucasian , one of the Linda always says hello to her but totally ignores me or my kids. The servers are friendly: but the owner is selective about whom she will be nice to.Food - god breakfast food but nothing extraordinary. To Linda(owner) there are non white employees of MN state agricultural govt center who visits your cafe: maybe a bit nicer attitude might help you to get the access To MN state fair. If you like good, down home, comfort food, this place is for you. The portions are huge. My favorite is the meatloaf sandwich with mashed potatoes smothered in gravy. Also, the hot chocolate is a must have. You know a restaurant is good when there is a line out the door for breakfast every weekend. Linda's Cafe doesn't advertise, so the popularity of the joint speaks for the wonderful food. The staff is efficient and friendly. Linda's is only open for breakfast and lunch everyday, but is open for dinner some evenings. Call before you venture out for the evening. read more

In the past we've had their broasted chicken - delicious! (If you like broasted chicken.) Today my husband had a BLT (liked it and would recommend if you like BLTs) I had a monte cristo (and I love them) - but their's was horrible. An off/bad taste but I couldn't describe it so I just ate what I could. I also paid $1.99 extra for waffle fries and they were disgusting. My husband's crinkle cut (regular) fries looked like another reviewer's picture - golden just like they should! My waffle fries were dark brown (not burned) but very soggy. If I was waitstaff and saw fries look like that, I wouldn't serve them. Wait person (she called the other wait person "mom") was wonderful. Very friendly and cheery. I would call this a typical Minnesota cafe. It's run by a family that you see there all the time. Their food is decent and generously portioned. The menu has enough selection to interest everyone in our group. They stay busy enough to have fresh food, but also to be somewhat dirty/dingy looking most of the time. Their going to have the same typical problems as anyone of this type, i.e. different cooks might put out different product, they'll be understaffed some days, ... It's not gourmet, it's not fine dining, but it's hearty, down home, Minnesota cooking. If that's what you're looking for, this surely won't disappoint. read more

Linda's Cafe is a locally owned and operated restaurant in Rogers. We have enjoyed breakfast there a number of times and the food was always good. The pancakes are enormous and the French toast is excellent. My favorite is the Minnesota Wild Rice omelette. The portions are very big - I can never finish my omelette; I try to split meals with someone. It's been pretty busy whenever we have been there. The owners work hard to make it feel like home-town restaurant. They do a great job. Glad to have Linda's Cafe in Rogers. read more

If you want a place to eat, than look no further. This is a local eatery (Mom n Pop) type of place. Great staff, and even better food. I just had the Minnesota omelet, and I had to turn some away because there was soooo much to eat, and the price for what you got was a great value. There was 14 of us that enjoyed a meal before a wedding later that day, we were there at noon on Sat. Oct.3. There's a great variety on the menu, breakfast all day, and the prices were fair. The food was delicious, good portions, service was great and the food came quick. With 14 of us we ordered a wide variety and all were pleased. Visited on a Friday morning. No surprise, there was no wait for a table. Decor was decidedly "Up Nort" with fish and lures hung on wide paneled wood walls. Service was less than friendly but the food was great, with VERY generous portions. My omelet was half the size of the table top. In the end I give it four stars because it was exactly what we were looking for: good food served without much wait. In and out quickly and back on the road heading to the real north woods. They have amazing...and I mean amazing, pancakes. They are usually my go-to when I eat here. They have a cheesy ham skillet that also deserves props. The service is come and go. Most of the time I have attentive service, but the last time I went I had to request sugar for my coffee 2 different times. This could be in part because of how busy it is. Man VS Food, I am usually the champion. Linda has a pancake that took me down. The ultimate Peanut Butter Banana Pancake. It was excellent, but I could not finish it, even with four glasses of milk.
