Solid experience here! We came on a Sunday morning, and were worried about the wait. We wrote our names in the book, and ended up waiting ~20 minutes, which wasn't too bad. The service was great; everyone was very friendly and gave us great recommendations. The food itself was definitely quite solid, particularly the orange juice and the cinnamon roll. The huevos rancheros were delicious as well. I wasn't a huge fan of the eggs benedict, but the dish was by no means bad. Is it the best breakfast I've ever had? No, but it certainly was a solid experience as a whole. Overall would recommend!

A friend had an appointment in Santa Cruz and asked if I'd go with her. I agreed -- on the condition that we get breakfast afterward. After some Yelp searching, we landed on Linda's Seabreeze Café. It's definitely a hole-in-the-wall kind of place with very limited indoor seating. They do have outdoor seating, but it was too cold for that the day we went. I'd heard they're known for their cinnamon rolls, and while I wasn't impressed at first glance, one bite completely changed my mind -- they absolutely lived up to the hype. Delicious and hard to stop eating. We had to sign in, and even though it was very early with hardly anyone there, we were asked to wait outside in the cold for about 10 minutes, which felt a little unnecessary. The server who greeted us had a lot of personality and energy (he asked my name a few times even though it was written down and we were the only ones waiting). Once seated, we were placed at a small two-top right by the kitchen, which felt a bit awkward. That said, the food was good, and the place itself is small but cute with a very Santa Cruz vibe. Two things to note: they don't serve alcohol (which is really just a me problem, lol), and they're cash-only -- thankfully my friend always carries some. Overall, a solid breakfast stop, especially if you're there for the cinnamon rolls.

Honestly don't even know where to start with this place cute spot inside Ana outdoor seating, and you can bring your fur babies. The food was delicious I cleaned my whole plate and the waffle was kind of flat but delicious . They seemed very busy but they all worked together as a team. They make fresh cinnamon rolls that just melt in your mouth and full of flavor. I will be back next time around for them fresh cinnamon rolls

Cinnamon roll- what made me want to come in the first place! Delicious!

Had breakfast with my son before leaving him in Santa Cruz to start life as a Slug! Pros- the staff were super friendly and helpful. The food was fresh and made pretty quickly. I loaded up on veggies and fruit cause I'm a mom and I know my son.... Will leave it at that! They were super accommodating on my modifications! Oh, portions are fairly large too. Cons- this place is popular! Depending on when you go, you could be waiting a long time to get seated. This place is cash only, so you'll want to be prepared! There is an ATM, but it's better to have cash before you go there. All in all, super happy with our meal and experience. I would honestly have been plenty stuffed had I just ordered their cinnamon muffin (OMG, soft and tasty!), a bowl of strawberries, and a glass of milk. The other options are very good though, so bring someone who likes to share!

Tuna Melt with cup of clam chowder

What a breath of fresh air ~ a breakfast/lunch spot close to the water and the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. This is the kinda spot I feel locals and tourists know about ~ there is a walk-up/add-your-name-to-the-waitlist clipboard vibe..but in all honesty, they turn the tables over pretty fast. We arrived mid-morning and parked in a little lot kitty corner to the restaurant. We added our name to the list and they asked if a table is ready, if it mattered indoors/outdoors. After about 15 minutes or less, we had a table indoors by the window with a high chair. Wait times may vary, this was just our experience :) Wow, what a delicious menu. Homemade morning cinnamon rolls, blueberry muffins...yum yum yum! I was feeling more of a lunch moment and ordered a tuna melt with cup of clam chowder. Other orders included traditional breakfasts, kiddo pancakes, and my husband went with an artichoke omelet (the Castroville). I felt like since we were in Santa Cruz, artichokes and seafood had to be on the top of our lists. Linda's is the type of spot you just appreciate. The coffee mugs that get refilled, the kind waitstaff, the fun people watching, and honestly, really just excellent & comforting food. The tuna melt was one of the best I've had in quite sometime ~ with tomato and sweet pickles, chef's kiss. The table conversation was more quiet than usual, with the whole party truly enjoying the food, fun, homey atmosphere. I snagged a taste of the breakfast potatoes and pancake..fantastic. Fair pricing, close to downtown (the boardwalk), if you have a long wait walking distance to a coffee spot/other places..just know ya may have to wait.

    Orange juice to go with

The service was quick, I did do a to go order because it was packed inside and out this spot is amazing for its cinnamon rolls. But I did order an orange juice to go and my cup was like 3/4 full so that was irritating. Make sure you bring cash or are willing to pay atm fees. Great cozy spot for breakfast brunch and lunch . Only open till 2 though

Simple, quaint, stellar Santa Cruz establishment. For the breakfast lovers, this spot is for you. For the ones that prefer lunch instead, just come after 11am and you're good. MASSIVE portions, great food and flavor. Can't say enough good things. Get there early I f you want to make sure you can snag one of the many specials - they're fantastic, and popular! So they go quickly on a Saturday morning. Highly recommend the Combo Pancake platter (comes with two pancakes, bacon, and a plate of eggs), any of their omelettes, and the tuna melt is great. I got the side salad with the sandwich which was a meal in itself. Come hungry! Important notes - Cash only (they have an ATM), so don't come slinging a credit card or Apple Pay. They also don't take reservations, but the tables turnover quickly and they have both inside and outside seating (which is heated!).

Came here with my family during a trip to Santa Cruz looking for a cozy breakfast/brunch spot before exploring the beaches and parks. Thai place did not disappoint! They have a great menu with various options, great portions, the food is cooked well and tastes great. I ordered the "lil' smokies sausage scramble" and got the cinnamon roll as my side. Both were delicious definitely recommend the cinnamon roll with a nice cup of hot coffee! The restaurant is cozy, welcoming, and feels exactly like the kind of cafe you'd expect in Santa Cruz by the beach. They had outdoor seating as well but we sat inside. It was busy when we came but we got sat quickly. The staff were nice and attentive, added to the experience. The cafe has a sense of community where I'm sure they get a lot of regulars but are welcoming to visitors. Would come again if in the area!

Nice service and ability to sit out or in, I sat outside it was a beautiful day so might as well. Huge portions, I had a blueberry special with a side of bacon and didn't finish it. Note they only accept cash, there's an ATM inside but come prepared. The outside sitting is basically a parking lot converted to a sitting area with picnic benches which is nice if you're into it

This restaurant had a amazing hardy breakfast-the omelette was very fluffy with fresh ingredients. The potatoes were cooked perfectly. Thankfully there was no wait and the waitresses and waiters were all so friendly and helpful with the menu. You also got a tasty cinnamon roll bed with your meal as an option instead of toast, highly recommend the roll. Definitely a cute and tasty spot to add to your list

The drinks here did not disappoint, they were well balanced and hit the spot perfectly. We perused the bar menu since that's all that was open at this point, and while so much sounded good, we ended up doing a custom order for a regular side of fries and the onion dip that normally comes with chips. Fries were good, not my favorite kind, but still good, and the onion dip was really great! The bar and surrounding area was open seating. A restaurant dedicated to The Cheese. Cool…read more I moved from Santa Clara to Santa Cruz in 1972 and thought I'd died and gone to heaven. I bought my first website from the O'Neill dive shop at the Harbor. Learned to surf at Cowells Beach, wearing O'Neill Seal Suits and Super Suits and Animal Skins, chasing Jack O'Neill around in his balloon with Mad Mike driving. Timmy O'Neill pushed me out of a dingy in the harbor channel once but I've forgiven him. They called Jack "The Cheese" but apparently I've been gone a while because I wasn't aware there was an entire restaurant, bar and lounge dedicated to The Cheese. Went there on a Thursday night in June and didn't have enough quarters to pay the parking meters on that uphill. Got lucky and found a parking space at Cowell's and used the change machine to get $5 in quarters, which is what it cost to park for a couple hours. Walked past a mural dedicated to several decades of Jack O'Neill going back to the 1950s: wetsuits, boats, hot air balloons, smiling girls. The air smelled like stale fish and salt. Inside was a clean, well-lighted place somewhere between funky and luxury .But closer to luxury. They've done a nice job with this place. The prices are reasonable in a city and a state and a time where prices can be unreasonable. Sat at a table up against the window, with a view over Cowells and the wharf and the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and the lights of all the fishing boats in the bay I ordered the loaded fries with avocado, which is kind of like french fry nachos. And they were good. Lots of Cheese. It's a smart idea to dedicate an entire restaurant to The Cheese, as this place is over the dirt where the first O'Neill Surf Shop was in Santa Cruz was way back when starting around 1959 when Jack moved his business and his family down to Santa Cruz and was perfectly positioned for the surf boom lit by the movie Gidget that exploded into the Beach Boys and Frankie and Annette and everybody went surfing. Only glitch was when I asked the bartender for the bathroom code and he looked at me askance and wouldn't give it up. He said it was for hotel guests only. Aren't food establishments required to provide bathrooms to customers? If I had any friends, I would take them to the Jack O'Neill Restaurant and Lounge. It's got atmosphere. P.S I've interviewed around a dozen white shark attack victims. I get their stories and tell them: "You had a rough day. I'll see if I can get you a new wetsuit. Look at the O'Neill catalogue and tell me what you want and I'll call Pat O'Neill." And Pat always comes through with quality neoprene, so maybe a restaurant for him some day?
