Came here with hubby and our big pup on a Saturday for brunch. There was a small crowd waiting for a table but we waited ~20 min. Sat outside (it was a nice day) and our server was Mayra. She was great! Brought out a bowl of water for our pup and was friendly and attentive. We got the John Wayne burger and crab cake Benedict. They were delicious. We got the unseasoned chicken breast for our pup. She gobbled it up! [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was so nice to sit out on their patio. Spacious and friendly vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Highly recommend!

Loaded potatoes

A great find on our vacation when we needed a breakfast spot on the way to the Santa Cruz area on a Tuesday in June. We were seated right away and the food came out super quickly. The service and food was great. Reminded us of a restaurant we frequent near home - even the dishes were similar. I had the loaded potatoes which were delicious. My son enjoyed his omelette. Definitely recommend this hidden gem!

Benedict's Place

Love this place. I can say it can be a hidden gem. It is family run business and has been around for for decade. They serve American style dishes which you will find at most of American Diner place. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We arrived for brunch/lunch and it was busy that time.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have indoor and outdoor sitting and we chose outdoor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was nice sitting area where you can freely speak.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We order Benedict's Place, Don Juan Salad, just two eggs, potato and taost, extra bacon and chicken fried steak. the portion is good and price wise, they are reasonable. The food was yummy. I like the benedict and also fried steak and the gravy. Overall service was ok.

My family and I were visiting Santa Cruz and Big Sur over Labor Day Weekend. Heavenly Roadside Cafe is a popular place. We arrived around 10 am and waited about 10 minutes to be seated. We ordered the following items: huevos rancheros (9/10). The sauce was tasty! The short stack of pancakes was amazing!. The Rico Suave burger with a side salad, 8/10. Last but not least, the cab sandwich and bacon with fries. 9/10. The service was excellent, and the staff was friendly and helpful--plenty of parking available. I suggest you arrive early to avoid waiting too long. We noticed it started getting busy after 10:30 am on a Monday.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Great service, good food and lovely vibes.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Mocha was great, nice coffee and not too sweet I love the small plate crab cake, it came with salad, just the right portion for me Smoked salmon Benedict was awesome, the cubed potatoes were delicious, salmon was tasty and the runny eggs were amazing. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We seated outside under the tree shaded area, it's a pretty day.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staffs were fantastic too, smiling and quick service

Loaded Veggie Potatoes (added chicken sausage)

Service was a little slow this morning, but food tasted great, prices are fair, and the portions were pretty large. A great classic American breakfast/brunch option in Scott's Valley (probably my favorite in the area)

Heavenly Roadside Cafe is such a hidden gem. I tried the veg club sandwich, eggs benedict and the Cobb salad. Honestly, everything was delicious! The portions are huge like you definitely won't leave hungry. The staff is super friendly and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the whole place has this relaxed vibe with really nice outdoor seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's the kind of spot you stumble on once and want to come back to. Highly recommend!

Veggie Benedict, and a classic breakfast with linguica

Bomb! So glad this location is open. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Such a beautiful setting with nature around.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Kinda loud and busy inside but still enough space.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I got a veggie Benedict which had spinach and mushrooms. Super good. Potatoes were great too. No complaints about my friends, with linguica. They are busy but Service friendly and efficient. Would definitely go back. Menu looks delicious

Lemonade with mango purée

This is a cute cafe literally on the side of the road. I felt transported to a small town in the Midwest when I walked in. The service was great. People were friendly and attentive. Food came out fast. And they served breakfast dishes all day, so my friend and I both got breakfast for lunch! The portions were huge that I had to take part of it home. We even got their special lemonade with mango purée, which was perfect for a hot day. I knocked off a star only for the lack of A/C and decor, but those items are pretty small. I would recommend Heavenly Roadside to friends.

While visiting Santa Cruz, we discovered Heavenly Roadside Cafe while looking up breakfast places. Such a hidden gem! I ordered a belgian waffle with fresh fruit and it was so crispy and buttery! The fruit was all fresh and delicious. My boyfriend ordered an omelette with bacon and avocado with potatoes on the side. It was a great portion and he liked it a lot! The service was great and the views were as well.

The bacon was thick and so good. Their potatoes were delicious and the staff were very pleasant. Went back again before heading home.

I figure that means they're treating their employees well, and more of a reason to support them! I wish I had gotten a picture of my favorite, a vegetable sandwich with avocado, sweet potato, and scallion aioli. Lots of seating both inside and outside on the back patio. Please be aware, this place is quite busy most days (for a reason) and there very likely will be a line and a wait. Not the kind of place you go to rush, and I think that's a good thing in this case :)

Your under staffing is not your customer's problem. Never experienced anything like this. They essentially turned me away after waiting in a 20 minute line. Looked at the menu, prices are absurd as well Ate here one time and the veggie Reuben sandwich was absolutely terrible and dry. Businesses have come and gone from this location consistently for years. This spot will be the same if you don't stop sucking. Update: Jessica, if anyone is speaking outside the realm of reality, it's you. I also grew up here-- and? Try looking at it from your guest's perspective and not your own. Waiting 20 minutes on a line to order a single sandwich for 1 person should not take 20-30 minutes post waiting in a 20 minute line. People value their time. You should consider valuing your customer's time instead of telling them they are lying. Pro tip, and good luck. Update #2: hey fellow yelpers: scroll thru some of the other reviews here: Jessica (the owner) has apparently been rude directly to the faces of many customers..Don't take it from me, there are several reviews before mine calling her out by name for how rude she was. Great example for her staff and really does nothing but solidify my initial review of over priced hipster food with a long line out the door to wait for mediocrity.

I love a place that makes seasonal drinks and that are friendly and happy to serve you. They have a lot of options for things to buy whether it's dessert or a breakfast pastry. The location is super random. It's like on the side of like a bus stop area, but the coffee is so good and I can't wait till I'm in the area again to order more and actually sit and enjoy it when I don't have to rush to a meeting. Everyone was super nice and friendly and had a great morning vibes.

The two barista is helping us were incredibly helpful and patient since we had to read everything on the menu. I also loved how their store was set up and they sold local arts and crafts from the community! I love the community aspect here in Santa Cruz County! Perhaps she misread the menu, but she thought "egg stacker" was a sandwich because it was under the "bagel sandwich "category. But under the description, it does not say there's any bread. Lol, which is better for us since we're trying to be gluten-free for the day. I had an ice green tea and a salmon egg which was delicious and filling perfectly made egg with the right amount of capers and seasoning for each bite to have enough flavor on it. The green tea was perfect since it was 92°! I can't wait till we get to the beach! I was sad. They didn't have any nitro coffee, but I will definitely come back to try more pastries since it seems like they were out but then again we got there about 30 minutes before they closed. Lol.

We were greeted by a hostess who, despite plenty of open tables and several staff members moving around, told us to stand off to the side and wait to be added to a "list." A young waitress tried to seat us right away, but the hostess reprimanded her, so we waited several more minutes before finally being shown to a table. It took a while just to get drinks and place our breakfast order. About 45 minutes passed with no food, while we watched obvious regulars come in, order, and receive their meals quickly. When we checked in with our waitress, she said it would be just a few more minutes. Ten minutes later, they brought out someone else's food entirely. At that point, we no longer felt confident that our meal--if it ever arrived--would be prepared with care or proper kitchen practices. We decided to pay for our drinks and leave. The worst part came as we were walking to our car: the hostess sent our waitress outside to tell us she wasn't allowed to keep the tip we left. That confirmed this wasn't a server issue--it's a management and kitchen problem. It's a shame, because it's a cute little spot on my route to and from work, but this experience was enough to keep me from returning.
