    Benedict's Place
    Dharma M.

Love this place. I can say it can be a hidden gem. It is family run business and has been around for for decade. They serve American style dishes which you will find at most of American Diner place. We arrived for brunch/lunch and it was busy that time. They have indoor and outdoor sitting and we chose outdoor. It was nice sitting area where you can freely speak. We order Benedict's Place, Don Juan Salad, just two eggs, potato and taost, extra bacon and chicken fried steak. the portion is good and price wise, they are reasonable. The food was yummy. I like the benedict and also fried steak and the gravy. Overall service was ok.

My family and I were visiting Santa Cruz and Big Sur over Labor Day Weekend. Heavenly Roadside Cafe is a popular place. We arrived around 10 am and waited about 10 minutes to be seated. We ordered the following items: huevos rancheros (9/10). The sauce was tasty! The short stack of pancakes was amazing!. The Rico Suave burger with a side salad, 8/10. Last but not least, the cab sandwich and bacon with fries. 9/10. The service was excellent, and the staff was friendly and helpful--plenty of parking available. I suggest you arrive early to avoid waiting too long. We noticed it started getting busy after 10:30 am on a Monday.

Great service, good food and lovely vibes. Mocha was great, nice coffee and not too sweet I love the small plate crab cake, it came with salad, just the right portion for me Smoked salmon Benedict was awesome, the cubed potatoes were delicious, salmon was tasty and the runny eggs were amazing. We seated outside under the tree shaded area, it's a pretty day. The staffs were fantastic too, smiling and quick service

Service was a little slow this morning, but food tasted great, prices are fair, and the portions were pretty large. A great classic American breakfast/brunch option in Scott's Valley (probably my favorite in the area)

Heavenly Roadside Cafe is such a hidden gem. I tried the veg club sandwich, eggs benedict and the Cobb salad. Honestly, everything was delicious! The portions are huge like you definitely won't leave hungry. The staff is super friendly and the whole place has this relaxed vibe with really nice outdoor seating. It's the kind of spot you stumble on once and want to come back to. Highly recommend!

Veggie Benedict, and a classic breakfast with linguica

Bomb! So glad this location is open. Such a beautiful setting with nature around. Kinda loud and busy inside but still enough space. I got a veggie Benedict which had spinach and mushrooms. Super good. Potatoes were great too. No complaints about my friends, with linguica. They are busy but Service friendly and efficient. Would definitely go back. Menu looks delicious

This is a cute cafe literally on the side of the road. I felt transported to a small town in the Midwest when I walked in. The service was great. People were friendly and attentive. Food came out fast. And they served breakfast dishes all day, so my friend and I both got breakfast for lunch! The portions were huge that I had to take part of it home. We even got their special lemonade with mango purée, which was perfect for a hot day. I knocked off a star only for the lack of A/C and decor, but those items are pretty small. I would recommend Heavenly Roadside to friends.

While visiting Santa Cruz, we discovered Heavenly Roadside Cafe while looking up breakfast places. Such a hidden gem! I ordered a belgian waffle with fresh fruit and it was so crispy and buttery! The fruit was all fresh and delicious. My boyfriend ordered an omelette with bacon and avocado with potatoes on the side. It was a great portion and he liked it a lot! The service was great and the views were as well.

Came here thinking this was a good place it was HORRIBLE let me tell you it was hot in here and it's still morning !! They give you toast and you ask for jelly they give you one jelly make it last !! Burger was under seasoned no mayo mustard or ketchup you have to ask for all that and by the time you ask for all that you get the death stare by waitress don't ask for napkins either and the biscuit and gravy was gross no sausage in it extra heavy on the cream plus instead of two biscuits and two eggs for 17$ they cut one biscuits in half and tried to pass it as two biscuits and only one egg then the water is very gross so you have to buy a soda that's another 4 dollars avoid at all cost you been advised Very over hyped and over priced not worth your time trust me

Beautiful water in a glass bottle.

Omg...WOW! My wife and I love to go out to breakfast. It's totally our thing. With that said, I can't believe we've never eaten here! I don't know where to begin. With the first bite, I couldn't wait to come back and try more. I love to research yelp and I was ready for this place. I enclosed a picture from my food research journal. First off..they give you a lovely glass bottle of water for the table. My wife and I ordered coffee. Amazing coffee!!! So bold and not a tad bitter! After the first sip of coffee, I knew this was going to be a treat. I ordered the Portuguese omelet. It came with potatoes and I substituted toast for a biscuit and a side of gravy. The omelet was incredible. I gave a bite to my wife and she said it was "like fireworks in your mouth"...That's totally my opinion! The potatoes were perfect. The biscuits was lovely and the gravy was next to perfect. Everything was so fresh. My wife had the classic eggs ben...they definitely don't skimp on the fresh hollandaise sauce. She loved it. We walked away feeling full all day, but not "food coma" tired. We talked about how wonderful the food was all day. I can't wait to go back and try more. Also, out waitress, Mayra, was so attentive and sweet! We'll be back...probably this week. Such a gem! Next time I'll definitely try a mimosa!

Not to mention they're a very small kitchen, so they do sell out. *Not the best place if you're a vegan or vegetarian, as the options will be extremely limited. We were greeted by a hostess who, despite plenty of open tables and several staff members moving around, told us to stand off to the side and wait to be added to a "list." A young waitress tried to seat us right away, but the hostess reprimanded her, so we waited several more minutes before finally being shown to a table. It took a while just to get drinks and place our breakfast order. About 45 minutes passed with no food, while we watched obvious regulars come in, order, and receive their meals quickly. When we checked in with our waitress, she said it would be just a few more minutes. Ten minutes later, they brought out someone else's food entirely. At that point, we no longer felt confident that our meal--if it ever arrived--would be prepared with care or proper kitchen practices. We decided to pay for our drinks and leave. The worst part came as we were walking to our car: the hostess sent our waitress outside to tell us she wasn't allowed to keep the tip we left. That confirmed this wasn't a server issue--it's a management and kitchen problem. It's a shame, because it's a cute little spot on my route to and from work, but this experience was enough to keep me from returning.
