Well this was a spontaneous thing, friends of mine saw this place on Tik Tok and knew I loved beaches and well... the rest in about to unfold. Immediately this place was crazy busy, or at least I believed it was but we had just beat the lunch rush because it was way worse after getting outside. It's a small establishment but not tiny. The recent craze for this place is probaly why it gave me a dose of closterphobia. They had a patron occasionally walk out and down the line to offer a menu. The place was louder than I anticipated it to be, good news is they do have a restroom on site... One, unisex restroom. Outside was two grills actively in use making fresh meat for the sandwhiches they had to offer. I ordered the Cubano and I had originally wanted a cup of chili... bummer they didn't have any on this day. I ordered the Cubano. The sandwhich was good, infact it was ok. I was kind of disappointed because everything felt so average and the hype built this up to be something amazingly delicous. It's an ok spot, plain and simple. Was it worth the trip, not really but it was a nice spot to try and I'm glad I did. After some dining mishaps the day before I could've not been happier with my experience at this deli. Walked in nobody was really there. The guys were super friendly. It's a clean shop. It was cool on a warm day.. I was overwhelmed with the choices and I had asked the guys what was most popular and they said "The Cove" and it was tangy and bright, and sweet and savory, and the bread was incredibly soft and warm. I tried every side that they offered I think. The clam chowder was terrific, I'm not a big fan of their pasta salad, but it had a lot of red bell pepper and that's not a flavor that I like in general, but the pasta was cooked well.. I seen a TikTok about this local spot and knew I had to check it out. I was on a time crunch, so I figured I would do a mobile order just in case since it was lunch hour. Order online was speedy and easy. When I arrived my meal was ready to go and was easy marked which order was mine. The sandwich was amazing! Super fresh and tasty. I will definitely be going back again. Super conveniently close to the beach too, just a short 5 minute walk. We have come to this deli every time we've come to Santa Cruz for years. It's walking distance from the Boardwalk. The location isn't the biggest but it makes good use of the space it has. I have always had good sandwiches there, but this time I was somewhat disappointed. Maybe it's my own high expectations, but my sandwich today was just okay. However, for the quality of ingredients, quick service, and filling portions it is definitely worth it! I tried the Yacht Club and Giant Dipper. Both phenomenal sandwiches, wow. They were rich in flavor, soaked in sauces, and the bread was crispy. Perfection! The chicken in the Yacht Club was juicy, well seasoned, and the smoky flavor was so delicious. Great balance of veggies and protein, crunchy bacon adds a nice texture. My favorite of the two has to be the Giant Dipper, it came with a hot bowl of Smoked Brisket Au jus as a dipping sauce. Which further enhanced the flavor profile of the sandwich. We drank the leftover portion like soup! Also the amount of meat in the sandwich blew me away, generous portion, SUPER FILLING. THEEEEE BEST SANDWICHES IN TOWN! I don't know how I haven't been here sooner as I am always in Seabright when in town, but I will be here every trip. They are only open from 11:00 AM to 3:45 PM, so get your sandwich quick. I have been here a couple times already since discovering it about a month ago and everyone who works here is so nice and helpful. Plenty of seating inside and out the back past the bathrooms. Parking is never a problem even though it's just on the street. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu either--everything is delicious! I have tried the Yacht Club, the Neptune, and the Mermaid. I couldn't even tell you which one was my favorite because they are all so solid. If you're craving something sweet as well they have dessert and ice cream in the fridges (the banana pudding is to die for). Next time I will definitely try one of their brisket sandwiches. 10/10 delicious sammies. The best thing after a good beach session!! We stopped by after getting some sun at a nearby beach. In addition to having some shaded large picnic tables/benches in the back, they also have a tiny parking lot, which was unfortunately full when we arrived. We ordered four sandwiches to eat there, which came out pretty quickly--probably after about 8ish minutes? We freshened up using their single restroom in the meantime, which was well maintained and stocked (much, much appreciated). I ordered The Surfer (smoked chicken, white cheddar, bbq sauce, pickled red onions, tomato aioli, arugula, mayo) and asked for it to be in a tortilla wrap rather than the standard toasted francese roll + no arugula. This was exactly what I wanted/needed!!!!! It was packed with so much tender chicken, which paired so well the bbq sauce and mayo. Not sure what mayo they use, but it's absolutely fire. I ended up having to scrape some off though because they were so generous hahaha. My friends' sandwiches were all also amazing. The meat was incredible and all the sauces were soooooo good. I especially loved how soft (but also stable) the bread was--no one's mouths were getting torn up by over-toasted buns (': Truly couldn't stop talking about how delicious my sammie-turned-wrap was. This was really good! Service was quick and food was good. We split the giant dipper. My husband absolutely loved it. I thought it was a little less than that- the onions and mushrooms on it were cold and that really took it down a notch. I'm very glad we ended up choosing this place. We had a couple of sandwiches, and they were both excellent. They tasted great, including the non-meat option. For those choosing to not eat meat for any reason, I'd be comfortable ordering here. The meat-filled sandwich we chose (which there are plenty of options) was also good, and the components tasted well together. Even if you wait a bit to eat to take them the short distance to the beach, they were excellent. That's what we did, opting to enjoy the pleasant day with our sandwiches along the ocean, and no complaints. The staff members were also great.
