I have been going here for about 15yrs. They do a good job on alternating, I did notice there prices being more and more every time, and it's understandable within time of going there. Yesterday I went to get my daughter prom dress altered. It was about 2 inches from the waist on each side and just a regular cut on the bottom. I still can't get over how much they wanted to charge me! $120 dollars! $50 for the waist area and $60 for the bottom cut literally more then what I paid for the dress. I told her oh it's okay I won't have it fixed. She was so rude removing all the pins off the dress and just rudely gave the dress back. I'm a regular customer there, for her to be so rude to me was unnecessary. I will look for another place moving forward. read more

Linda and her staff are always super sweet and easy to work with! I've brought countless pants, dresses, tops that needed fixing / hemming / altering and they've done a great job each time! There's really no job that they haven't been able to do. Usually things will take about a week and if you're really pressed they can sometimes expedite, but recommended that you give them time and give it at least a week in advance from the time you need it. There are times where it was done within 5 minutes if they're not busy and the fix is simple (like the crotch area of my pants ripping from squatting to pick something up lol), they were able to do that on the spot. Prices are very affordable. Only thing is cash only! So make sure you have some $$$ with you as they don't take card. read more

I've been taking my clothes to Linda's Tailor for years. As a short person (4'11), I always ran into the issue of finding dresses that are super cute, but are way too long for me. Back when I was in HS, she fixed up my prom dress! I had bought it at Nordstrom and even for a size 0, it was still a little loose on me. It also had several layers (one being chiffon) and a big slit on the side, so I was worried that it would be difficult to hem and resize. She was able to fix it - although it was a strapless dress, she made it fit perfectly like a glove and I was able to dance the night away during prom without any issues, the dress never slipped down and I never tripped over it. If I remember correctly, she did all of this for $50 - which is a pretty good deal! Fast forward to this year, my brother's fiancé asked me to be her bridesmaid. I ended up coming back to get my bridesmaid dress hemmed since all the dresses from David's Bridal are made for tall people LOL. Linda did her measurements and made the magic happen! She did a wonderful job, fairly quickly too. Can't wait until COVID-19 is over, so I can finally rock the dress at my brother's wedding. My most recent experience was also pretty solid - I brought in my dad's jeans to be hemmed (without him actually being there) along with a pair of jeans that was the length he wanted it to be. She was able to compare them and hem it to the correct length - all in 2 days! Overall, super happy with her service and her patience, as my Vietnamese-speaking skills are bad LOL. TL;DR - good value Linda's Tailor came in clutch! I used them when I was in high school for my prom dress and I used them 10 years later when I was getting married. I had a wedding dress that I took to Linda's - she quoted me $200 to alter the whole thing. This is a great deal in my opinion. She was going to hem it, add a zipper and add a liner. However, I ended up getting a simpler dress anyway. My more simple dress was from Lulus. I went to Linda's to get it hemmed and make the sleeves thinner. Her team did a fantastic job! However when I got the dress it was not ironed or steamed. I was disappointed and ended up spending an extra hour steaming my own dress on my wedding date. read more

The people who work here are very nice. There has always been a parking spot when I come. The prices are very reasonable so I can afford to alter all my clothes to fit perfect. Pay cash when you pickup. Everything ends up great and I'm happy with the service. For those that complain, getting things altered to custom fit is a luxury and they are not magicians, they can't do everything and it is their right to refuse any job. There are many tailors in San Jose but this is my go to. Just hope they will accept credit card in the future. Amazing and very fair pricing! I came here with my very elaborate dress and they were able to tailor it perfectly! The dress was too big and they were able to take it in about 2 sizes! My mom also brought in her dress, and they were able to shorten the length. My brother and dad took in their suits, and they were able to adjust the sleeves and their pants' lengths. I had two pairs of jeans that were waaayyyy too big for me, over 10 inches of extra length, waist need to be taken in about 2 inches and tapered through the whole length about an inch and a half on each leg, basically they needed a lot of work. I went in on a Friday afternoon and they had parking, quick to assess my needs and help me out. For all the work they quoted me $75 total for both pairs and ended up knocking it down to $65 cause I thought that was a bit pricey and didn't know how well it would turn out since I had never been here before. They told me to pick up anytime after the following Tuesday after 5 pm. Went back Tuesday at 2 pm, a few hours before the time they stated and they happily had them ready for me! They had me try them on and they fit better than I could have expected. Everything looked proportionate and well fitted even though so much needed to be trimmed, the stitches were clean and everything was seamless. My experience from start to finish with Linda was quick and easy. I got my bridesmaid dress hemmed here. It was three layers with the outer layer being a chiffon material. I brought my dress in, tried it on, she made her markings, and I was out within 10 min. I picked up my dress one week later. I would think that an alteration place knows how to alter anything. Apparently I was wrong. I was turned down and laughed at and speaking In Vietnamese because my pants was too tight on me. I've come here twice now to get a jumpsuit hemmed and to fix a bodysuit into a regular shirt because I hate a bodysuit but loved the top half as a shirt. Both times I've gone I've gotten quick and good service. Turnaround was a couple of days but be sure you call ahead and ask if you have any time constraints as it depends how busy they are. This place is awesome!! and so reasonably priced! I brought in three dresses and two jeans. Two dresses needed hemming which was 7 and 10 bucks Two jeans were 12 bucks all together to hem. One dress needed a major overhaul so that one was 20. Overall I was very impressed with the work. It was very nicely done. I used to go to this other lady who charged me wayy more than that. I usually parked across the street where there are other businesses. But that too can be hazardous because there would be big trucks park in several areas and couldn't see cars from the other side that are coming in towards you. I am usually satisfied with the quality of their work. Depends how many they have to work on, it usually takes 3 to 4 days. And depending on what it is, it takes coming back the next day for a pick up. Just make sure you really have to explain to them how you want them done. Whenever I need to get my clothes altered quickly, I go here. And boy is it often; especially when everything I buy, that's off the rack, never seems to fit me like I want it to. At Linda's, I can usually expect to get my dress shirts back within a day or two, or even a few hours, depending on how busy their schedule is. All I know is that one thing's for certain, they're good at what they do. On one particular event, I had a wedding to go to on the following day and I really needed to get my shirt fitted. After telling the staff at Linda's about my situation, they told me that I could pick up my shirt within a few hours, and before you know it, my shirt was ready that evening. The only thing I don't like about their location is parking, because although they do offer a few spots on their driveway, it's usually taken. So when it comes to that, and it does, I'll usually have to find parking on the street, and in all honesty, it can get a little tough. Other than that, if you're in a hurry to get your clothes altered quickly, Linda's is definitely something you should look into. I used to take all my jeans to get hemmed, then I bought some nice suits and took them to her, she kept asking me what to do? um..you're the seamstress, you don't know how to take in a suit? The huge attitude and pushing me onto her assistant who speaks no english? A total waste of my time and NEVER have I had a tailor be so incredibly rude. The screaming kids (customers) running around is enough to put off anyone, ugh... Linda is good with shortening jeans or dresses, but I suggest you take your high end suits/dresses to someone with experience in those types of alterations... Needed my dress to be altered within 5 days. I called another place to ask how long generally a hem would take, but the lady sounded so annoyed when I asked if she could do it in 4 days. So, I decided to keep looking and found this place. Since it's close by, I decided to chance it and did a walk in. Came in and only waited less than 5 mins. Very nice lady approached me and I asked her I needed it by 4th day, and she said yasss! Took less than 10 mins to put it on, mark my dress, took it off, and left. It was only $30 for a long chiffon bridesmaid dress. Cash only. Ok to pay upfront or when you pick up. Although it was ready on the 4th day, couldn't pick it up until the 5th day. Not only does she do a great job, her prices are by far the cheapest I know in the area. A great tailor is one that can make your clothes fit and flatter your body without ruining or destroying the cut or fabric. In other words, one that works with extra loving care in your investment. That is Linda. I know I can trust her to work on the jeans that I bought with my entire paycheck or the million dollar dress I was able to get from starving myself for months. No matter what, Linda can take care of it. She can make the clothes work for you at an unbeatable price! I also wanted to add that she is highly recommended by a friend of mine who owns a consignment shop in Los Altos. A lot of of her clients are willing to drive to the East Side just to have Linda work wonders on their pieces. TIP: Because Linda's business is located on a busy corner of an intersection, sometimes parking can be such a drag during the late afternoon/early evening. I highly recommend that you park in the front sidewalk (not the driveway) or across the street rather than the driveway to avoid incoming vehicles from both lanes while backing up. I was sent here on a very high recommendation from a close friend. I was a little apprehensive at first, given the location, although the service and the price far outweigh the inconvenience of the shop. I have a huge butt and a tiny waist and have to get almost every pair of pants I purchase taken in. This can get very expensive. I have tried many places like the free alterations at Nordstrom and many alterations places in Los Gatos. At Nordstrom it takes at least two fittings to get the sizing right and at the other shops it cost upwards of $30 and the look of the pant is ruined. But not at Linda's! My first time I brought in eight pairs of pants (6 that needed to be taken in at the waist and 3 that needed to be hemmed). It cost me $90 and every single pair fit perfectly. I wanted the 3 pants to fit more like a slim straight fitting instead of regular baggy what I originally had. The pants feel great and I look like a model in them lol jk. Great job tho. I always taken my jeans/slacks here (6 pairs and counting). Without the original hem is super cheap, and about $4+ for original hem. I've taken a top half of a suit here with good results. I've even seen people with their Quinceanera dress so it looks like they can do elaborate items as well. Speaks English and Vietnamese. It usually takes about 5 days for jeans but I think you can rush them if needed. Its a residential home business, just like the many others on the East Side. I go to Linda's for ALL my clothes alteration needs and have left satisfied each and every time! I normally go here to get my Rocks, Sevens, Joes and even regular AE jeans altered and they do a very good job whether it comes to hemming or tapering jeans so it's not so bell bottom-y. The price is very decent too! Normally the easiest and best thing to do is to just bring a 'sample' pair of jeans that you like the fit of and have them measure it and alter it according to those measurements. That way you can avoid the whole trying on the clothes and measuring it. I've brought in one of my birthday dresses that came with a weird zipper and linda was able to put in a regular flush zipper and shorten it for about $18. I got my brother hooked on going to Linda as well. He likes fitted dress shirts and he's been bringing all his shirts in to be fitted and shorten. He's come home satisfied with the way each and every one of them look whether it be blazers. dress shirts or jeans. Parking can be a little tough to get in and out of if you park on the driveway but i suggest you just park down the road if theres parking on the side or park across the street in the small plaza. She accepts cash only but you can either pay upfront or pay later when you come pick up the clothes. Everyone that i have encountered here is extremely nice and helpful. They give us helpful tips on what would look better and what they suggest be done instead. So I bought this suit from Macy the other day ( don't buy your suit there, its not that great) needed alteration for my jacket. I was a 38Short but had some issues with the fit of my jacket between shoulders and chest. I had to purchased the 40R instead. Anyhow, I brought it to Linda, she was friendly and knows what she was doing. However, when I came to pick up my coat after the alteration, I was so in a rush that I didn't get a chance to observe my coat. Had to come back and re-size my coat...it was kinda funny, awkward interesting when i went back there. I was working with Linda to adjust the size and possibility of my coat and suddenly about 5 other people came in and tried to help ( I guess its a vietnamese thing) but they were talking in vietnamese and pinning my coat. I get it, they were all being nice. But over all I would recommend Linda's Tailoring to anyone. She was able to re-alter my coat the next morning when I dropped it off the night before.
