Horrible customer service, I mean the WORSTE. The staff act as though they are doing you a favor by talking to you. Their uneducated front staff forgot or simply do not care that it's the customers who pay for their jobs. The well educated doctors are very professional and kind. Terrible service at Linden Optometry. The admin staff is unorganized--my mom's glasses were delayed over a week, and when I finally picked them up, they forgot to give us the original Cartier box. When I called, they had set it aside but told me I'd have to wait the following week to pick it up because they were "too busy." It's ridiculous that something so simple couldn't be handled on the same day. They also never returned my call when promised. Been back 3 times waiting 2 and a half months and still no glasses. Avoid this place if you can (sometimes insurance only allows this place). They told me my astigmatism went away and didn't correct for it. I found out that's not even possibly true. Their prescriptions made my eyes twitch and blink for a couple years and I didn't realize that I looked like a crazy person because of it until a friend finally said something about it. A lot of things have changed here to the negative! To the negative in a way that the staff members seem to celebrate their unfriendliness, the customer is perceived as an annoyance rather than as a king. Particularly unfriendly are the individuals at the check-in which is now even mandated if you only want to browse the various glass models. The cashier folks come second in unfriendliness - just lacking even the lowest level of touchiness. But also in the optometry department, it seems not to be standard anymore to introduce oneself by name ... I would strongly recommend to reconsider the business philosophy a bit. I love this place. All my experience with Linden has been pleasant. All the staff members are just friendly. Every one of them! I don't recall the optometrist name who saw me, but her last name starts with a T, so I'm referring to her as Dr. T. She was great, knowledgeable, friendly and answered all my questions and concerns. She did not rush me, and she genuinely listened. She also recommended some artificial tears and I've only used t ice since I saw her, and the remedy is already working for me, what a relief! I've been going to my "other eye doctor", and they couldn't tell me what was wrong with my eyes and why I rubbed them so much. Smh. Don't waste your time on elsewhere in Pasadena, just make an appointment with Linden. I also found some beautiful glasses, and they have a huge display and variety of glasses. I've been coming to Linden's off and on for a couple decades. I end up going to doctors near wherever I move then I come back again. Last year I went to another doctor that drastically changed my prescription making it unsafe for me to drive with the new prescription. As soon as the new insurance year started, I made sure to make an appointment with Linden and so glad I did. The ladies that checked me, did initial checks, did the explanations at the end, and checked me out were all courteous. I met with Dr Kisan who was amazing. I've been going to Linden since 2000 and it was always just ok. The examination rooms have always looked dirty and outdated. Today I stopped by to try on sunglasses just to see if they have frames that are my size (I'm a small framed person). All of a sudden I have to fill out paperwork (which they already have my info) to just try on glasses?! What a waste of time. I'm done with this place. I'd rather pay more for a cleaner, professional more efficient establishment. Update: Do yourselves a HUGE FAVOR and go up the street to Warby Parker. They are professional, kind, clean, sleek, and let you try on glasses without filling out paperwork and without a rent-a-cop breathing down your back. Go! You won't regret it. read more

I know the place for long time . 18 years to be exact. I purchased over 20 pairs of glasses from here with my VSP insurance. They saved my left eye sight by close examination and found out I had condition ( Retina rapture) which If it was not because of Dr Tsang's dedication no one would have known it . I love the place and highly recommended it for great staff overall BUT : pandemic messes this place up too. You need appointment for every service separately. Sometimes they may let you have one appointment for optometrist and if it's not too booked you can choose your glasses as well. Staff: great doctors as well as every person working here . They all great. Glasses collection: I'd say it could be better but special order available so if they don't have it on floor you can order. Lens shop: look I am coming here for last 18 years and never ever had figment or lens problems but I have seen some people had and they corrected it for them. Great technical shop. I order ANSI 87.9 shade red proof , anti reflective, transitional (photo chromic) scratch proof lens pretty complicated but they pull it off every time .great contact lenses department too but I don't use them . I missed my chance last year due to lack of appointment to this place and end up with problems by going somewhere else. I've been a patient at Linden Optometry for 25 years. Since Covid their service has progressively diminished... I scheduled an online appointment. Between scheduling and the appointment day, I received at least six reminders via text and emails. Too many for my liking! Upon arrival, I checked in at the counter and was told to have a seat in the waiting area. After approx. 30 mins, I started to notice patients that arrived after me were being called. I spoke to another patient who was a walk-in; she was called before me. At that point, I went to the counter to speak with the staff. Apparently, the initial clerk had not checked me in. The clerk then told me I would be called next. After hearing four more patients called, I went to the counter again and it wasn't until then that they called me. After speaking to the Adjustment Department staff, I was told that I needed to do a re-exam. She told me the wait time was 10 mins. She walked me to the exam area and told me to have a seat. After not being called for 20 mins, I checked with the exam staff. Again, they hadn't checked me in. After another 20 min wait, I was finally called in for the re-exam. What was supposed to be a 10 min appointment (per their website), turned into a two-hour ordeal. I will not be using or recommending Linden Optometry again. At my previous appointment, a gentlemen vocalized his frustration over his wait time. Now I understand why he complained. read more

Never coming back here, the optometrist was prejudiced and sexist. I was so upset after my evaluation that I told the front desk people that I was not spending any more money here and walked out. The staff and the Managers suck and are very rude and on-American and abuse the Disabled and Elderly patients by telling us we don't move fast enough and they are always pushing very expensive services we do not need on us and pressure us to always hurry up when we are picking out our New Frames for our New Glasses. They definitely Discriminate against the us Disabled, Elderly and the Asian staff hate us Americans! I'm very happy to finally decide to never give them business ever again! The first experience I had was not too pleasant due to the uncertainty of their online booking system. I made an online appointment for an in-person eye exam a month before. I received an email that turned out to be a confirmation for requesting an appointment, not an actual confirmation of the appointment. Confusing, yes! So without realizing all that, I went to the shop just to found out that I don't have an appointment at that time. My request is not being confirmed. The staff was nice, and she book me an appointment for the next two weeks. I finally got my appointment. I was impressed by the size of this optometry. It was huge. They have an ample space of the welcome lounge where the receptionist is, the glasses are, and aisle after aisle of doctors room and stuff. The staff was super friendly. I got helped by Gina, who is super friendly and warm. Dr. Chen helped me with the eye exam. She gave a ton of tips for healthy eyes and all that. And lastly, Fe, helped me to decide which glasses I should order with all the benefits. They also have a good covid protocol to choose the glasses. They will give it a try, and every glasses you touch, try on, like it or not, you don't put it back on the shelf, but collect them in the tray. Indeed it is a good experience. read more
