Isn't available until today (on stray hold). I get that. I come back right at 10am when they take people walking in for adoptions.. was told that the dog is not available for adoption because it's going to a rescue. I asked can I get the information for the rescue so I can adopt through them? Nope. They can't give out that info. So basically after being told I could adopt the dog today, I was told I couldn't because it's going to be picked up by a rescue who is going to foster it and find a home. Hi. I could have been that home. But your shelter clearly isn't in the business of finding good homes for dogs. And with that, I'll be going to a breeder. Maybe create some policies that make it seem like you're trying to find homes for dogs and not just euthanize them. Pretty sure that rescue will do just fine without the one dog and still bring in good money from all the other dogs that take from the shelter. But like I said. The shelter clearly isn't in the business of finding good homes for their dogs. Wouldn't recommend and I won't be returning. I'd rather pay more for my dog than deal with unprofessional establishments such as this one. Shop. Don't adopt :) that should be their motto.

They informed us that someone was already scheduled to see the dog the next day, then called us after the person no-showed to let us know the dog was still available. The dog we were interested was being treated for a medical condition and they provided detailed information about the treatment provided so far and what would be needed moving forward. The dog was described as shy and a stray but clearly liked the staff at the shelter. The place was really clean with nice kennels. Overall, we were so impressed with this place.

I was told both verbally and in writing that I had seven (7) days to notify the rescue of any medical issues. Within that seven-day period, I notified them in writing that my newly adopted Persian cat developed yellow eye discharge, squinting, and signs concerning for an eye infection, which is not typical Persian tearing. I also notified the rescue of my concerns regarding delayed or limited access to medical treatment, as prompt veterinary care is important to prevent unnecessary suffering. Despite reporting the issue within the stated timeframe, I was informed that no veterinary costs would be covered, and that treatment would require returning the cat to the shelter rather than allowing local veterinary care. Based on the condition that appeared shortly after adoption, I felt misled by being told the cat was in "good health." While I am not saying this was intentional, the information provided did not align with my experience once the cat was home, which was concerning. I share this so future adopters can make informed decisions. Please be cautious, especially when adopting brachycephalic or exotic breeds such as Persians, which are prone to eye and respiratory issues. Clarify in writing what "good health" means and what medical support, if any, is provided after adoption.

She made an appointment to see a particular little puppy. She asked if I would be able to drive her out there. Of course! When we got to Hanford, we kept driving around and around the mall. No SPCA that we could find. The GPS said we were THERE. Turns out it's INSIDE the mall!! The girl working there was really nice and the little puppy was love at first sight for both my SIL and the puppy! The adoption papers and fee were taken care of and we were soon on our way with a new little puppy.

I had a stray cat at my residence that I wanted to neuter, as no one claimed it after a Facebook…read morepost. I had difficulty finding a business that wasn't quite expensive. This organization called me back, gave me a voucher code, and I was able to have it neutered the next day for $20. That price includes regular cat shots, ear clip, and neuter. For all feral cats, you need to bring the cat in a trap, not anything else. They will not accept cats in other enclosed containers at any vet's business. This is to avoid harm to their employees. The Visalia Cat Coalition has volunteers that call you back. The volunteer who called me is named Janice. She was extremely helpful and led me through the process step-by-step. She had me go to the Valley Oak SPCA clinic in Visalia. She even went so far as to meet me t at 5:30 AM. I got there early, as feral cats are taken on a first-come first-serve basis and they only accept a limited number each day. Janice also followed up with me less than a week later to see how the cat had done after the surgery.
