I had a fish on hold for Monday pickup. I showed up to get fish and it was gone. Lady said it was on hold to long, even though it was already agreed for Monday pickup. She kept apologizing weirdly. They had my number and name and a sold sign on tank, so I guess someone just paid more. Not a great business to work with if this is the service. read more

Unorganized, animals are in deplorable condition. Chinchilla has a mesh wheel that has been taken off the market at many stores due to them ripping the animals toes off. I was so excited to come here but left extremely agitated and refuse to spend my money here to support their practices. read more

Came here to support our local pet store and buy my bird some food. Came here not expecting anything of it but Man! This place has a lot of its small space! I loved it. Let me tell you they have a huge variety of fish and has a section of reptiles, birds and everything you need. Lookes like they even have a little pharmacy too! Any-who... Their prices are good and have a nice variety of needs n wants for your pets. We received great customer service from the friendly staff. She was very informative and welcoming. The BEST customer service I've seen in many years! The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, always going above and beyond to ensure that the customers and pets are well taken care of. This little pet store is a powerhouse that looks like a small neighborhood shop on the outside but the service, quality and variety are at a level that the big box stores could take some lessons from. If they don't have it - they will get it for you! We have dogs, cats, and fish and will no longer go anywhere else. It doesn't matter if you have saltwater or fresh fish, Payne is the best we've ever seen. His knowledge is unsurpassed and his honesty and dedication have enabled us to have the tanks we had envisioned. If you have a problem, he will work it with you until you find the solution. I also have to mention that they stand behind their products unlike anything I've seen in a long time. Bailey will spoil your pooches like they are her own. I've been all around the Central Valley to many of the pet stores but for me this is the best one to go too. I have a few snakes and a few aquariums of fish from tropical, plants only, and others, and this place has always had exactly what I need when I come by. They have a wide selection of exotic fish and reptiles. Really appreciate this place and would highly suggest if your in need of any supplies or advice. read more

Their slogan is "The Best Little Pet Shop in the Valley." My sister and I used to come here to sell our mice when we were kids, and the owner would give us store credit. I also used to always come here and buy goldfish when I was a kid. Oh wait, I'd come here and buy goldfish as an adult, too! Their saltwater section leaves a lot to be desired, but my partner and I are spoiled from the Fresno stores as well as locations in LA and the Bay Area. They have a good selection of fish but they only have soft corals, and what they have are usually brown. The other thing that I'm dinging them a star for is that they still sell puppies and kittens. I don't care what people say, but puppies at stores like this often do come from puppy mills and backyard breeders. Reputable breeders don't sell their animals to pet stores. So I don't support that aspect of the store at all. I don't live in town anymore so I rarely shop here but they do have interesting specialty things that the big chain stores lack. read more

It's bigger than it looks! Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. I like to support local business when ever is possible and really enjoy going there for my dog, cat and snake supplies. At first they didn't carry the cat food flavor of Blue my cat likes and when I mentioned it to the sales person I was told to call ahead and they'd make sure they had it in stock.... AWESOME service!! Good selection of foods, toys and just about everything your fur-baby wants and needs. The reason I don't give them 5 stars is because they still sell puppies and kittens and more often than not they come from backyard breeders. If you're looking to adopt go to the ASPCA in Hanford or Lemoore. Please do not support the breeding of animals when there are so many already here that need a good home. I went crazy trying to find charcoal bones for my Frenchie and a friend told me to try this store and see what they had. Sure enough they had exactly what I needed and more! This place is amazing! They literally have everything that we need! They have all kinds of treats for our dog and always have mice for our snakes. Big selection of fish, even salt water! They have a reptile room with only a few snakes but they can order any snake you want which is awesome! They also have vet services but I would call to get the days and hours for that. I moved from Virginia Beach about 18 months and was shocked when I walked into the Animal House. I never expected such a fantastic pet store to be in the small town of Lemoore. This place is a lot bigger than it looks. For the fish enthusiast, their selection of tropical fish is more diverse than the big chains. But, it is their friendly staff that really sets this place apart. It is definitely worth a look inside. read more

This store reminds of going to Tropic Hut with my parents when I was a kid in the 80s (before Wal-mart moved in to Manteca in the 90s & forced them out of business). It can seem a little claustrophobic but it is a nice store to explore. I was surprised when I noticed that they carried Blue Buffalo brand dog food & was cheaper than Pet Smart. I try to support local business as much as I can. The only reason I haven't given this place 5 stars is due to the sales of dogs and cats. While I am not accusing Animal House of acquiring their puppies and kittens from puppy mills, or disreputable breeders, it is simply a usual trend that I do not intend to support. read more

We've been coming to The Animal House for years. Gary and his staff are super cool people! We've bought various reptiles, supplies, and consumables from them. Yeah, some things are pricey, but if you factor in the cost of gas to go elsewhere...it all pans out the same. Besides, shopping locally keeps the funds local. And Gary is always donating and sponsoring someone for something. I'd say this store is full of kind hearts....and pet stuff, too! read more

Love this place. Has everything I need ad more, prices better than chain stores on most products. Right near my house and has samples of a lot of the dog food brands! Our dog Bentley adores these lol! Also they have VIP Vet services most every weekend that saves us money from going to the Vet and paying for office visit. Great and helpful employees. read more

I originally gave this business a 5 star review. I went into this store once week for fish and supplies. I also brought business to them. Every friend i have started going there because i swore by them and they hadn't done anything wrong so it was always the first place i took people. I used to bring in fish for store credit, well i had called them about bringing in some small fish. He gave me a quote over the phone that i was happy with it so i brought in fish only to find out the store credit they gave me was half of what he had quoted me over the phone. They were still small not full grown yet so i thought alright thats why. Well later on i had brought in more fish(all adults this time) such as 20 mosquitofish, 1 guppy, a 5 inch pleco, and 2 male flameback cichilids. For all this i got $15 store credit. Im no expert and i know they have to make money too but one of these cichilids was worth at least that much. I looked back at the owner and said "is this it?" He said yup and walked away. I should have taken my fish back or clarified what he was going to give me before he put them in his tanks but i wasnt about to take them all back stressed out and quarantine them for weeks. I walked out and if you don't want to be ripped off i wouldnt walk into this store. read more

It's a cute shop but after taking my kitten to the vet the day after I got her and finding out she had ear mites is very upsetting. You would think know they would take better care of the animals they are trying to sell and tell me and making me sign a paper saying she was healthy when she wasn't has me highly upset. I suggest going some place that takes better care of there cats and dogs if you want one anything else the shop has a good range of options. read more

We bought a snake there and within 24 hours it had died. My husband tried to go back and explain to the owner that he was sick, but the owner yelled at my husband and threaten to call the cops. He kept yelling "we will give you store credit, and no refund." When my husband asked an employee, they told him they were treating the other snake in the cage for mites, that is what we found in our snakes cage the day he died. Please do not go here if you want someone who does not treat their costumers kindly and listen to them and threatens to call the police. read more
