This company just ripped us off. They came into our home through our home insurance American Home Shield. Spent all of 3 minutes at the MOST looking at our broken faucet. honestly I don't even think it was that long and then proceeded to falsely report (lied) to our insurance company that it was "intentionally broken", that my wife told the technician that she broke it!! that is completely false. We will be reporting our experience to The Better Business Bureau. Also, no one would ever intentionally break their kitchen faucet . Especially in something the user uses every day. This is who AHS sent to fix my leaking tub faucet. The plumber (Domingo Lopez) was the rudest most unprofessional person I've ever dealt with. He talked to me as if I was 10 years old and accused me of causing the damage to my faucet! Then he put on the receipt that goes to AHS that the "customer caused the damage." I don't know who the hell he thinks he is but you don't go into someone's home and speak to them like that and accuse them of causing the damage. I wouldn't even give one star. very unprofessional technician. He was assigned by American Home shield insurance company to check on a minor leak from the side wall tile near my bath tub. When the technician from this company came in to my house first he checked the issue and told me that he need to get access to see inside the tub to check the pipe. So I called another plumber to remove the side panel from the tub wall. After two weeks another technician came in and he made a statement that some one drilled a hole in to the pipe and he don't think it is a natural wear and tear and it won't be covered by AHS. He put me and my family into a shock stage and walked away. My house is 10 year old and I am the first owner. Ryland homes built this house for me. I have been using this tub for the past 10 years and never had any issue until last month. Why would some one make a hole in a pipe where there was not even a complaint ever before and where it was a closed unit. This guy his name is Chad -he did not even inspect the area well. he barely took a pic with his cell phone and made this unethical statement that "the owner made a hole in the built in pipe" ! I don't believe a licensed professional or technician would ever think that way. I made a second opinion with a technician and he said it was from deposits and erosions on the metallic pipe and it could be changed and problem could be solved. This is a cheap company they take insurance contract to get money from the insurance company for their visit. I would never recommend any one in my community. It performed AHS diagnostic for my house, very much not professional, and the technician appeared not even know plumbing-very easy to know it come for the free $75 diagnostic fee. The Worst thing is that it made false statement to AHS, so we had to ask for 2nd opinion diagnostic technician while the hole the stupid technician made when he made diagnostic on the wall kept leaking for another two days until my 2nd technician from AHS fixed it. The stupid technician told AHS that a metal water line in my Houton house is leaking because recent frozen weather (May, 2020), AHS should not cover the repair cost. My 2nd technician from another company thought that Lindsay company is a joke and they know this company always did that for the free $75 fee. I had request AHS to block this company from my request, also I had warned all my friends and neighbors to avoid this company. If you have AHS, you can call AHS, it allows customer to request not assigning diagnostic request to Lindsay company. This company will make wrong statement to AHS and delay your covered repair request. If there is no star that I can choose to evaluate this company, I will do. They also serviced my 2 water heater in 2018, both failed after one year in 2019, one led to flooding of my house--I suspect if their technicians were properly trained or not. Complete scam. Similar to others I was assigned their plumbing services through American Home Shield because my pilot light was out. We just bought our first home and I couldn't restart it and was concerned the gas control was not working. It took 4 days for the company to respond. The plumber spent less than 60 seconds in my home before claiming I needed major repairs on ancillary items that would not be covered and would cost $100's, but didn't inspect the actual hot water heater at all. After a few more days and phone calls with the plumbing company and AHS I decided to give lighting another try. I went into my attic and restarted the pilot light in 15 minutes. If the plumber did any real inspecting or work I'm sure he could have politely found the hot water heater was fine the whole time and restarted it even quicker, but they are just there to create bogus charges. read more

Lindsay company technician was sent to my house by AHS warranty company. My boiler was not heating water so the technician said that I needed a new valve for my boiler and advised that it was a pre-existing condition (because of rust in my boiler pan) which would not be covered by AHS because it would have been found with a simple mechanical test. He offered his services for $375. I was in shock how the technician expected me to know the leak was on-going while I was enjoying hot water and when the boiler stopped heating water i Immediately called AHS for repair. He proceeded to tell me that I should have seen the leak from the pipe outside my home. This pipe is a few inches from the ground and I wouldn't notice it unless I was inspecting the pipes outside my home. I realized I was fighting a losing battle and decided not to waste any more time arguing with the plumbing company or AHS. I called another plumber he checked my boiler and told me that I needed a new control gas valve he also told me my burner was rusting due to the leak. He then told me to call the boiler company and verify if my boiler parts were still under warranty before he charges me for new parts because the valve alone is around $280. I proceeded to call the boiler company and my boiler is still under warranty. The new plumber proceeded to get both parts for free under warranty and I am only paying him for labor. I keep thinking if I paid Lindsay company $375 to complete the job they would have charged me for a valve that I should have gotten for free. In addition they would have never told me my burner was rusted. Now I got both parts brand new for free. I was quoted over 5,000 dollars for a horizontal pipe replacement project by Church Services, and without knowing that anyone else had bid on it, Lindsay quoted us 3150.00!!! We have no complaints whatsoever about this honest, reasonably priced company. However. Do NOT let them steer you to Property Damage Restoration. They are horrible. A plumber was dispatched to repair my water heater, which was hot producing hot water. He supposedly repaired it, and left. The next day water started pouring from the side of my home; he had broken another valve in the process of repairing the water heater. To add to the insult, the company charged me for an additional service call to repair the item that he broke. And now, less than 30 days later, I once again have no hot water. Horrible company! Do not use them. AHS assigned them to work on a few leaking faucets. From the moment the plumber can in, he looked for excuses NOT to do the work, some very absurd, like: "You have to repair the sink cabinet before I do repairs (who in their right mind would repair a cabinet with an active leak!!!), "I am allergic to ...", "We don't touch the water filter, I will disconnect it and leave it disconnected" (like seriously?!) Then it took 2 weeks for them to return with a replacement faucet -- 2 weeks!!! And it was the wrong faucet, the only thing it matched was the color. When we told them it's the wrong faucet, they left the house after having disconnected the original faucet and they refused to return to re-connect it. The office manager was no help, and she refused to send them back. Who disconnects a faucet and just walks out?! I asked to speak to the service manager and she refused to connect me. After several calls with AHS, they sent out another company: they replaced the faucet within 2 days! The plumber from the 2nd company said they're always cleaning up after Lindsay. DO NOT USE Lindsay. You have a better chance hiring a guy off the street than with Lindsay. I am not sure how they are still in business, other than they just keep collecting AHS's service fee, and leaving others to clean up their mess! read more

I should have checked here first ... I have a home warranty service with American Home Shield (AHS) and they selected The Lindsay Company (16536 Mueschke Rd, Cypress, Texas 77433) to replace my water heater. They came by on 6 December 2013, removed all the piping, etc., on the old, failed tank and tried to install the new one. Unfortunately, the new one would not go through the attic opening. In fact, neither would the old one. As I have 2 water heaters, they repiped to bypass the failed one, giving us hot water while I resolved the access issue. They returned on 11 December 2013, successfully installed the new one and removed the old one. Dustin, the lead tech, presented me with a bill for $365, a surprise to me. My wife had talked with AHS to set up the appointment and the rep there said there might be some additional charges not covered under the home warranty to bring things up to code or provide access. My wife relayed this information to me and, given the house was built in 2004, I did not expect there to be any code violations, so was not concerned. I asked Dustin if the line items would be required to come up to code and he said 'no, those are just for installation'. It was a couple of flex pipes, a gas pipe nipple and a couple feet of PVC. Pretty high cost for that. I told him I would have to call AHS as my understanding was that normal installation cost was fully covered. Dustin went ballistic, yelling at me about his family, he's a working man, he makes no money doing work for AHS, etc. I said, ok, let me call AHS and we'll have this straightened out. Dustin again went ballistic, yelling at me that he didn't have time to wait around, he is a busy man, etc. I asked what he would suggest and he said, well, I'll just take it back out. I told him to go ahead. I had the sense that there was something underhanded going on here given his refusal to let me make a simple call and instead take 30-45 minutes to take out the new water heater. Spitefully, he left me without hot water this time and took my old connection piping so I could not repair the damage. After express instructions to either put the old one back in the attic or take it with him, he left it on my front lawn. To add insult to injury, his assistant put his foot through my ceiling, creating a 3' hole I now have to deal with. Because he informed AHS that I 'denied payment for service', they must do a bunch of research, etc., before they will decide whether to try again with a different company. Naturally, I'm without hot water in the mean time and it looks like it can be a few days. read more

They said they performed work that was not performed. Left parts and joints in attic....when attic door was opened, parts fell out. Problem of receiving hot water, on first visit it was explained that they could partially fix the problem, but we could only use one appliance at a time. This was for the AHS fee of $100. However, it was additionally explained that to fix hot water issue so more than one appliance can run at a time will cost $1,600. This would be flush the 2 year old tankless water heater and re-pipe in the attic. We proceeded with that effort only to find that somehow I now have no water pressure in my master bath..therefore no hot or cold water. I hired another plumbing company (not through AHS) about the problem only to discover the above, plus the tankless water heater was off the market now and was set at a temperature too high and the piping was illegal and would eventually burst flooding my home again. I'm an elderly woman, not only was I taken advantage of by the Lindsay Plumbing Company, but also, the previously hired plumbers through a contractor who through ignorance or deceit took my money and caused more problems. UPDATE TO LINDSAY RESPONSE: no, I did not write that you installed the 2 yr old obsolete tankless water heater...the 1 year past, previous contractor's plumbers did that. However, Lindsay Plumbing said for an additional $1,600 they could fix my problem. Reading carefully the above, you will see that whatever they did, to include leaving materials ...joints and other, which fell on the head of my daughter in law when she opened the attic for the new plumber to analyze---indicates the previous occupant of that area (Lindsay Plumber) left those materials. ALSO, IF YOU READ THE ABOVE, YOU WILL NOTICE THAT I WAS CHARGED FOR FLUSHING THE OFF MARKET TANKLESS HEATER WHICH WAS SET AT ABOVE LEGAL TEMP....PIPED ILLEGALLY (NOT ORIGINALLY DONE BY LINDSAY) BUT SHOULD HAVE BEEN NOTED AND OWNER INFORMED OF DANGER. THEREFORE, I WAS CHARGED A TOTAL OF $1,700. (Original AHS Service Call) PLUS $1,600 MORE TO "FIX" MY LACK OF HOT WATER PROBLEM! ONLY TO HAVE THE OUTCOME OF NEITHER HOT NOR COLD WATER I.e. I had a very negative experience with this company. I was assigned to them by AHS for a hot water heater that is not working. After I received confirmation of the service request I tried to call them multiple time. They do not answer their phone or return calls in a timely manner. When I finally spoke to them I found them less than helpful and professional. They scheduled a service call 48 hours after initial request was submitted. I was told they would call prior to arrival and I did not receive call. They said I missed the appointment and would not reschedule. I then had to begin process with AHS all over. They replaced the hot water heater but after not receiving enough hot water and reviewing their work, we realized they reversed the lines. It wasn't installed to code (properly). It took over a month to resolve but it was resolved satisfactorily and they refunded part of the cost. AHS is a horrible home warranty company. Referred to Lindsay b/c I had American Homeshield warranty. Technician came out and told me leak was in the roof, not the plumbing. Called the roofer...who finds a leaky galvanized pipe in my attic. Not a roof issue at all. On top of that, I was 10 minutes late getting home after the "30 minute call" and tech was calling me and giving me a hard time...said he would have to call the office to see if he could stay and wait for me. A few weeks ago, I called American Home Shield to unclog a drain in my upstairs bathtub. They were supposed to send out The Lindsay Company. We set up an appointment time with specific instructions to call me 30 minutes before they arrive, so I could take off work and drive home. They never called me. A week later (after handling the problem myself) I get an email saying that I owe them $75 for a service fee. I checked my phone again. They never called me. AHS said the Lindsay Company told them they did call me and that they waited for me at my house for over 15 minutes and I never showed up. IT DID NOT HAPPEN THIS WAY. Two things: (1) If I drove up to somebody's home with an appointment time and they weren't there, I would obviously call them wondering what the deal is. (2) I would not charge a (former) customer a $75 fee for a service not performed. The last time I used them, they were late to arrive, consequently, making me have to take a half day off work. Maybe I should send The Lindsay Company a bill for a 1/2 day's pay! In conclusion, I'm ticked about this whole ordeal. This is NOT how a reputable company conducts business. read more

We have a major leak in the house we just bought. We opted to use our American Home Shield warranty and was assigned the Lindsay Company. I was given the 30 minutes out call. I called and explained I was in route, however the plumber said that he could not wait. I called the company 3 times before being put on hold. Once I actually talked to a representative, I explained I was in traffic but about 10 minutes out. I explained that it had taken a long time to get the appointment and that we had a significant leak. She was rude and completely unsympathetic. I practically begged her to have the plumber wait. I asked that they extend just a little bit of the flexibility they demand from their customers. She said the plumber had already left and that I would have to contact American Home Shield. If you have AHS, you know that contacting them is no small feat either online or over the phone. Whatever happened to quality customer service????? Follow Up: To add insult to injury. I just received an email for a service fee from the Lindsay Company. They denied me service because they wouldn't wait 10 minutes and now they are charging me a service fee for for absolutely nothing! No work was completed and the technician left. When you get the 30 minute call, you better be at your house and not a minute late. They will leave immediately and charge you. Doesn't matter that you have wait during their 4-5 hour window. I work full time and can't take off the 4-5 hour window of time they schedule. So I left work after receiving the call. I arrive 10 minutes after the 30 minutes call. Absolutely horrible customer service. I will never use this company. There are plenty of quality AHS providers that actually value you as a customer and not just as money for nothing. read more

We've worked with them twice over the years, through our home warranty. Both times have been for 'minor' issues - leaky tub faucets and leaky toilets. Both times, Chad has come out and quickly fixed the problems, replacing worn parts and even some worn out parts we didn't specify. He is friendly and courteous, as is the woman who called to schedule the service visit. I'm always wary after reading reviews from those of us forced to work with companies through the warranty, but wanted to add a positive voice. I received service through American Home Shield from The Lindsay Company and was ready to give them a 5-star review. The plumber showed up to my house on time, was professional, and completed work on a toilet and shower valves. He told me he needed to order a part for my kitchen faucet because the pull-down sprayer would not switch from stream to spray and that the hose was not weighted properly. My next communication was from American Home Shield reporting that the claim was denied for the faucet because of inadequate water pressure, which they do not cover. The plumber did not discuss water pressure with me as the cause of the issue, only that the faucet was broken. When I called to discuss with The Lindsay Company they wanted me to pay over $500 out of my own pocket to replace the faucet. It is unethical business practices to report to American Home Shield a diagnosis that is different than what the plumber reported to the home owner. Update: the company replied below they left "numerous messages." They called once and left me a message. When I tried to respond I was told the person I needed to talk to was unavailable. This is just another example of poor customer service and unethical business practices. When something is wrong, try to correct it instead of blaming others, including your customers. read more

Dispatcher called and was polite and professional. She told me they had an opening and would send out a technician the same day that my work order was sent to them from AHS. Technician arrived early and was polite and professional. He had parts for water heater on his truck and was able to replace the gas valve and thermocouple quickly and efficiently. This house had a leak in the ceiling in the bathroom. Rather than replacing the pipe that's leaking, they "put a clamp" on it. Spent money repairing the sheetrock, paint, everything. Couple months later, leak again, in same spot. Poor job. Now there's a leak in the kitchen. They come and said, "can't find the leak," and left. Couple days later, ceiling fell down because of the wet ceiling from the LEAK. They replaced the pipe. There's STILL a leak. I show them video and pictures of the water drops. They come by a 3rd time and said, "there's no leak." I have pictures and video. I would not use this company unless you have a lot of time waiting around for them to come, again, and again. And unless you want to keep on replacing wet ceiling from the leak...that they can never find. Where is the water coming from if there's no leak? Worst company ever. Oh, not to mention, now that they "replaced the pipe" I have no hot water pressure in the sink. The water drips out of the faucet. He comes by and said, "well, there's water pressure in the cold water side." THAT was acceptable to them. "Oh well, you don't have hot water, but you have cold," and they left. This company has been assigned to us through our Home Warranty. Tech spent 5 minutes inside the house checking our broken toilet and bathtub, left saying that someone will get in touch with us. (Usually all techs stay and wait until the orders are authorized). Couple hours later I get notification that Lindsay closed the order, that it was completed. I called to the company, they said that the order was denied by the home warranty. I called home warranty and they said that the Tech claimed that the toilet has been shaken, then slammed off of the wall and that is why the bowl of the toilet cracked hence warranty does not cover due to supposedly us damaging. Needless to say I was shocked as Tech completely and utterly lied. My toilet could not even be moved and the toilet bowl is so close to the wall, that it would be impossible to slam it. Likely, my home warranty offers second opinion. Got another company in and they confirmed that toilet is just old and that is why it combusted by itself. There were no any findings that we did anything to it. As a result, toilet has been changed and covered by the home warranty. I will never use this company again, and warn anyone who would want to. I wanted to give this company 0 star, but yelp did not let me! Like other reviewers, AHS sent me a plumber from Lindsay. I told the plumber that our washer drain started to overflow. He said he had to down a snake into the roof vent, and the job is not covered by AHS. He also said that is the only way to unclog. I was too stupid to believe what he said. He probably did not want to wet his hands because it was cold outside. I paid $75. He left. I ended up hiring another plumber who run his snake from the main drain and unclogged the pipe. I had an under sink leak. I called AHS and they placed the request with The Lindsay Company. After that, I read the reviews below and immediately called AHS and asked, based on the large percentage of negative reviews, that they place the service request. with a different company. They declined, saying I could cancel and start over. I decided to let it be. The Lindsay service person showed up on time and quickly repaired the leak. Iv noticed that all the reviews based on 0 are from people who have been through AHS, let me begin by stated that this isn't in anyway a bash tword you all who have had a less then desirable experience with the company but to rather add knowlege. I have AHS and have had this company dispatched to my home on more then one leak issue, I have had some negative and some positive visits, I feel it is based on the technician that comes to visit. AHS has specific guidelines that the company is required to comply with, I stopped going through them and have the company number which I call directly. The service has been good thus far and they have done a good job with my entire PEX repipe of my home, the arrived on time and got streight to work and so far the clenliness is on point. read more
