I counted 5 employees in the store who walked passed the one clearly stoned employee in no rush at all working the register. When I asked if anyone else could help the stoned kid was rude, as soon as their manager walk back in, two of the 5 employees jumped on register to help the line. So I stopped in just to get my battery checked. The manager and the employees went far and beyond to help me. They checked it out and said it was low on charge. But the manager said, "Let's take it inside and but it on their test machine. Low and behold I had a dead cell. Thank god he checked it. I wasn't expecting to buy a battery when I came but glad I did. The manager gave me a discount on it and I didn't even ask for one. Now that's service. I totally recommend O'Reillys in Prospect Plaza. Hey, just tell them Bill recommend them . You won't regret it. And don't be afraid of asking that stupid question. We just had the most amazing service from an auto parts store in Placerville. I thought that kind of service has been forgotten but Daniel helps us with our dead battery. It wound have cost us a lot of money which I didn't have to tow our car from Placerville to Hayward with a dead battery and alternator. Thanks to Daniel, who checked our battery and alternator to find out what the problem was. He removed our battery and charge it so that we could drive back home. I love being able to go buy the parts for my vehicle. I can have my husband replace them cheaper then the auto shop. Especially when the radiator hose goes out. My husband went in bought the hose and replaced it at home. We have also had to stop and get new headlights because a light bulb was out. He didnt have the tools so he asked if thry had any he could use. They let him borrow what they had available and he changed the lights right there. What I have found is that most auto parts stores know little about the Jeeper's world, or the many ways Jeeps can be manipulated to work without factory specific parts. My experience with most auto parts stores is they are geared to selling a person a part rather than helping a customer solve a problem that may be done using the old part. Times are getting tougher and auto parts are expensive. That is why I appreciate Oreilly's Placerville store. This review is long overdue. My appreciation for the customer service and specific knowledge by the staff and management at the Placerville store is five star. Today I needed one spark plug wire. The store only had complete kits. One of the store reps, Daniel, took my old spark plug wire and re-worked it so it worked like new. A new wiring kit would have cost over $ 35.00. This place is great! The staff is very friendly and willing to help you out. Yesterday, when I went to go leave the gym, my car would not start. I did not have any jumpers with me. I walked to this store as it was on the other side of the shopping center. When I walked in, I was immediately welcomed and asked if I needed any help. When I told the lady what was wrong, she said no problem and grabbed a reader and walked all the way out to my car in 100+ degrees. She even walked back and brought back a jumper kit to get me started again. Then she did a diagnostic test to help me find out if it was just a dead battery or if it was my alternator. Luckily it was just my battery and she worked with me to get a new one! I would absolutely recommend this place for anything car-related. They are very eager to help in any situation. read more

It wasn't a big purchase (just an air filter), but the two people I dealt with (Warren and Connor) were super helpful and very knowledgeable, and they act like they care about their customers. I wasn't sure if I had the right ratchet size to change the filter and one of the guys even installed it for me - they will do those little "extras" if they aren't slammed with customers. Had to add a note for an outstanding experience. Had to get a replacement washing machine hose that the local parts house was backordered for. The clerk took my old hose and matched it as close as he could to what he had in stock. No "I need a part number", no "I don't have one", just a can-do attitude that appears less and less these days of full automation and limitation. I am not really one who ever complains about stores but the customer service at oreillys was so bad I felt compelled to write this review. I had always shopped at oreillys same as my family, friends, and car club with no problem. one afternoon, I had just bought a substantial amount of auto parts from this place. upon exiting I noticed my car had overheated and water was gushing from the radiator. (100 degrees plus outside air) I quickly went inside and asked one of the employees if i could get some water for my car just to get me down the road. He said no, but he will ask the manager. I watched as he asked the manager and observed him shaking his head no. The employee returned and told me no and I need to go somewhere else and buy some water. I was dumbfounded! What if I had little children in the car in that heat? Cant someone help another person in need? I walked to the gas station, 1.5 miles down the road, found a container in the trash, got some water and returned. I refilled the radiator and went to AUTOZONE down the street and bought a radiator hose, thermostat, gasket and coolant. I told them what happened at oreillys and they were astounded!! They told me they would do whatever it took to help me....Even dragging a garden hose to my car. Needless to say I will never go back to oreillys in Placerville again. Neither will my family, friends, car club or anyone else I tell this to. AUTOZONE is my place to go to from now on. The non compassion at this store....I choose NOT to be a part of! It is too bad that employees are not trained to help people....Instead, just to make money! read more
