Ordered the shrimp boil. Came to table as a small amount of food on a big round tray which reminded me of a trash can lid and the food had come from the trash can. The one half ear of corn was under cooked. Potatoes had no flavor. Sausage tasted like hot dogs. The shrimp was still in exoskeleton, smelled and tasted like a dirty fish tank. Came here for lunch with the whole family. The place is cute inside and the staff is very friendly. We ordered our food and everything came out okay except my son's chicken strips arrived like 10 minutes later after everyone else's food ( maybe they forgot to make it!?). This was particularly annoying because he was wondering why he didn't get his, and I waited until his arrived so he wouldn't be the only one eating, making my food cold. After his food arrived he was happy and enjoyed his food. My daughter had ordered a corn dog which she also enjoyed. My husband and I ordered the catfish Po boy and it was pretty delicious. I just wished everyone's food had arrived at the same time. The restaurant was also very cold with some heavy fans blowing, so we did ask if they could adjust the temperature because everyone at our table was cold, and someone did turn off the fans. It's like Mardi Gras stepped off the plate and into your mouth. My only complaint was the Gumbo needs to be about twice what it was. That was a Nee Orleans during that festival size portion and not your Great Aunt from the Bayou size portion size. I was left eating off my wives plate of catfish which as over flowing. read more

Lots of recommendations from the local NSU football parents to try this place. Came on a Friday night at 8pm. No wait, plenty of tables. Greeted by a friendly host who sat us at our table. Ordered a smoky old fashion. sooooooo good. Appetizers were chargrilled oysters and gator bites. Had to try something new like gator. Tastes like chicken. Really yummy. Chargrilled oysters were good but a bit salty. They needed Tabasco but we were told they don't have any. Isn't that a Louisiana thing? Dinner was shrimp & grits for the boys, Cajun pasta for me. Shrimp & grits were good. Again, needed Tabasco. They do have Louisiana hot sauce but not the same. Cajun pasta had good flavor but was really salty. I said something to the waitress and her only reply was "yes, as we get older we need to watch our salt consumption." Um, ok! No room for dessert but they did sound amazing! Next time I'll bring my own Tabasco because we WILL be back often! read more

I had the boudin balls and they were good, but rice bed with catfish covered in crawfish etouffee and was very disappointing. My wife had the same thing. Apparently this is a blonde roux. I travel to southern Louisiana often and I've never had a blonde roux. So I can't say how this compares to the other blonde roux, but I won't order it again. My wife wouldn't eat it. She just ate the one piece of fried catfish. She asked for a taste of the gumbo and I'm glad we tried it first. Saved us from ordering it. This may be good if you don't know how southern Louisiana Cajun compares. But if you're use to eating Cajun food in Cajun country, this is disappointing. Service was great though. read more

We usually only order a cup of beans with no rice. We usually get a full cup of beans when we order beans with no rice. Tonight my husband ordered the set up which comes with a cup of beans. It doesn't come with rice. I ordered a cup of beans with no rice For some reason, my husband and I both only received a half a cup of beans each. When I inquired as to the reason why, we were informed that when they take the rice out, it only leaves a half a cup. Even though my husband ordered the set up, which typically doesn't come with rice he still only received a half a cup. I also ordered an andouille sausage with my meal. For some reason, it is impossible for me to get an andouille sausage at this restaurant. I don't understand why, but I am now done with this place. Don't nickel and dime people. The restaurant may not miss our $84, one night a week splurge on food and cocktails,. But I guarantee, if more people are treated like this, you will miss $84 here and $84 there. I have ate in New Orleans, Louisiana, many times, this place cannot even hold a candle to the deliciousness of Nola's food. read more

We have been wanting to try Linney Breaux's for some time now and finally made it over for lunch! I will start off by saying the place is pretty small and parking is as minimal. But that is all that was minimal. The flavor was all there. The seafood was very well seasoned and was delicious. There was a ton of food and we left plenty left over for another meal. The kids ended up finishing the meal with a piece of red velvet cake. It was all amazing and got there just in time. The crowd was starting to filter in about the time we got our food. Oh my gosh I love this place!! food is great our service has always been great and quick this is a treat for me when I get to eat here. I took my father in law and he loved and he is picky about his Cajun foods so its a hit in my family. Came here while staying in the area this is the old catfish restaurant. Parking is limited, restaurant is clean and we were promptly greeted. Our waitstaff was on point, friendly and kept checking on us. We did read the reviews and pics but not what is in pics imo. I do y like leaving negative reviews for a locally owned restaurant but I have to be true to my readers. First we shared the gumbo, it's lot what reviews rave about, they know nothing about true gumbo and roux. The roux was more like beef stew, watery, just wasn't for us. The boil isn't a true boil... just a disappointment. It's crab, 2 thin slices and sausage and 4 half potatoes, corn and butter sauce on the side. This is nowhere near what we're used to in flavoring, no seasoning on any of food. You add the Cajun seasoning from your table but didn't help. I would say from seeing others plates the fried catfish looked good. read more

Legit Cajun food! Pleasantly surprised. We were in town for a NE football game and my cousin is from Acadiana and he loved it! Red beans and rice-had a spiciness that lets you know they know what they're doing! Beans weren't as tender, but I mean....homemade stuff takes hours and doesn't taste homemade. Fries catfish & shrimps-fried perfectly! The had Louisiana red dot hot sauce! Ettoufee smothered catfish-best of both worlds...very tasty! Try it. Great service!
