Lin's Bistro is a casual, laid back, but nice Chinese and Thai cuisine place. Located just off Braselton Highway, Lin's Bistro sits in a small strip mall in a quieter part of town. The menu options come in a variety of forms-from typical American Chinese to authentic Chinese and Thai cuisine (some of the stuff I couldn't pronounce!). All of the meals come with a choice of soup, an egg roll, and a chicken wing. I find this tends to hold you over until your main meal arrives. They also have a variety of sauces and teas for you to consider at every table. I have been here multiple times. With girlfriends, family members, friends, in fact every-time my grandparents come down from Canada they insist we make at least one trip to Lin's. The restaurant is usually quiet-on most days you see a few couples and a notable amount of police officers tend to come in. On Fridays and Saturdays it tends to be near full but hey-that happens. The food here was very fresh and the cost was pretty low. The food portions were so filling. In fact, halfway through I became happy and content I was gonna be able to take some home. I loved the decor of the place as well. Very chilled theme of layout for the seats. The atmosphere was very cool, laid back, and the view I had sitting along the long wall was awesome because I was able to see the chefs cooking in the open window kitchen to the wall adjacent. If you're looking for something quick, not too expensive, for a whole group or just a party of two, I recommend going if you're in the area. The lunch prices are good, and I went in for a quick, cheap lunch. The appetizer chicken wings, egg rolls and egg drop soup were good. The coconut soup was decent, but I wouldn't call it good. Our entrees, however, were terrible. I had the pepper steak, and the beef was very chewy with a sauce that didn't taste quite right. We also had the pad thai noodles, which was just awful. It smelled and tasted terrible. It tasted like the chicken or the sauce, or both, was spoiled. I will say that the service is good and all the staff is friendly. I've had decent experiences here in the past, but it has never been great. Unfortunately, after this last visit, I won't be returning to Lin's Bistro again. read more

The nam tok (Thai beef salad) is fantastic! It's listed as an appetizer, but it is easily a meal. Next time I will order it spicy, it comes with no heat at all. This is my favorite place to eat ever! My husband and I are well known for eating here often. Everyone is super friendly and we are known by name. Really really good food, but set up more as a takeout place than an eat-in restaurant, it's kind of odd, since the decor is nice, but everything about it screams "get it to go!" Man this place is absolutely amazing!!!! So unbelievably delicious. From the pan fried pot stickers to the spring rolls to the general tso chicken meal, they have mastered Chinese/Thai cuisine. Trash. I ordered the Beef Pad Thai and it came out as a pile of thin rice noodles lightly covered in a red sauce with a few strips of beef here and there. Definitely not an expert, but that's not what Pad Thai should look like. Had no taste whatsoever as if they squirted some sriracha, threw in some peanuts, and hoped for the best. I asked one of the servers if what I ordered was Pad Thai and she stumbled but answered yes. Prices are very reasonable and you get a complimentary chicken wing, and soup with your meal so you get your money's worth at this place. Went with a group of 8 and it was a good dining experience. My family was in for dinner last night. We all ordered appetizers and a main dish. My kids appetizer came, mine did not. My kids main dish came , mine did not. 25 minutes later, as the kids were almost done, I was finally brought my main dish. Appetizer still MIA. So, I moved to Duluth in February and have been on the search for a Chinese place I really like. For some reason this is difficult for me. Anyway, last week I was at the mall of Georgia shopping and really craving Chinese food. I looked on yelp and Lin's reviews made it sound like the place is very hit or miss. I decided to risk it. I REALLY wanted Chinese food (pregnant woman here). I ordered hunan chicken, as I always do, won ton soup, and my boyfriend got chicken fried rice and Mongolian beef. Let me preface this by saying I really wanted to like the place. I had high hopes that my hunt for a new favorite Chinese place was over. Unfortunately I was wrong. It wasn't awful, but it was bad enough for me to never want to go back. The won ton soup was good, but is kinda hard to mess that up. The hunan chicken....okay. Every time I order from a place I ask them if it's spicy and they always say yes and then it NEVER IS. Like, not even remotely. However, even if it had been, I still probably wouldn't have eaten it. The chicken was really thin and tough. Weird. Vegetables weren't good. I ended up just throwing it away. The chicken fried rice was ok, according to my boyfriend. He came home and ate most of that, after being out with friends. Maybe he just had the drunk munchies though, idk. Anyway the Mongolian beef had barely any beef in it. It was literally 80% onions.
