They closed down for like 7 months so when they came back I was excited only to be let down. The sesame chicken had little to no flavor.. the rice was reminded me of a cheap dirty Chinese resturant and the chicken wasn't cooked in that sweet light brown sauce it was red and the breading was doughy and not crispy as I ordered.. it was horrible and I threw it away after making. Ive had a lot of Chinese food, but this restaurant is hands-down the highest quality I've ever tasted. Despite seeing some low reviews, I felt compelled to share my experience--though I was tempted to keep this gem all to myself! The food here is absolutely delicious, made fresh to order every time. You won't find any crunchy rice or soggy, overly breaded chicken here. My personal favorites are the General Tso's Chicken, Beef and Broccoli, and Sesame Chicken. This is a family-run business, and you can really feel the care they put into their food. The owner manages the front while his wife cooks, and they even take turns in the kitchen. It's rare to find such dedication and quality in every dish. Highly recommend! One tip: Call in your order if you can instead of using Uber. I'm so sad that the owner for the last 15 plus years or so is no longer there. There is new management. Since 6-2025 and they seem very nice , but maybe a little overwhelmed when the phone is ringing and having to seat customers, there was one guy alone in front. While I didn't expect the food to be the same, I did expect it to be of substance and tasty. Unfortunately for us veterans of this restaurant it falls so very short. The Mongolian beef was rubbery and could not be chewed, it had a sponge like texture. The sweet and sour chicken was more sour and no sweet. I wish I had ordered the sauce on the side. The fried rice was ok. The egg drop soup was more yolk than soup, and they don't have the wonton crisps we love to have with the soup. I'm so sad about the change but I know change is inevitable. It just wish I could say confidently I would be back. Sadly I cannot. I'm glad I tried it out for lunch I would've been even more upset paying dinner prices and throwing the food away. I had to get other food after leaving here bc I was still hungry. I hope the new owners take heed to the reviews and can turn around this experience and thrive here in the future. This place is great for Chinese fast food. About once a week, I get their weekday lunch special. I usually order their Mongolian Beef. For less than an $8.00 total, you get a lot of food. With the tasty beef, I get fried rice and a fried egg roll. The owner is always very nice and always happy whenever I pick up my food. That alone tells me that the food is being cooked well and with attention. The worst. This was the worst Chinese restaurant dining experience I have ever had. I can understand the good reviews of this restaurant. I ate there a couple of times before the pandemic and everything was fine, and during the pandemic, I got some take out and that was good, too. But something has happened. I don't know if there is new management or ownership or what, but my experience there for lunch yesterday was horrific. I ordered wonton soup and Mongolian beef and water. The soup was brought out to me in a take-out container on a tray with a paper napkin, sauce packets, and flimsy plastic spoon and fork along with the bill. It was very difficult to eat the wonton soup out of the deep plastic container with the little plastic spoon. The water was in an Aquafina bottle. Now, while I don't normally mind drinking water from a bottle, it's just not a good experience at a meal in a restaurant. The Mongolian beef was served in a Styrofoam take-out box. The fried rice had only a couple of specks of egg in it. It was basically plain rice. The Mongolian beef was not good, both in taste and texture. The rice noodles under the beef were already completely soggy when it was served. I asked for a pair of chopsticks. The chopsticks I received were tiny. They were only about seven inches long and about one fourth of the thickness of standard disposable wooden chopsticks, making them difficult to use. The bill for this catastrophe was $12.50. The crab rangoon was okay- can't really mess up cream cheese wrapped in wonton wrappers. - Curry chicken- bland, didn't have that curry color or flavor. I already knew just by looking at it. - Egg drop soup- it was okay, but there wasn't enough egg and the flavor wasn't there either. - Lo mein- the most disappointing because lo mein is such an easy dish that you can seldom mess up. I have tried lunch here couple of times and it was always pretty good, mongolian beef, tofu with vegetables, and kung pao chicken. However, if you're ordering for dinner I don't know why but the dinner of tofu with vegetables they gave me was literally vegetables, tofu in a watery sauce that tasted like sugar sauce with a hint of splenda. Absolutely disgusting and I couldn't fix it at home by adding corn starch. It was filled to the brim with watery liquid. I'm so done with this place. It has been solid but the quality has slowly gone down but has been still decent. I don't know what changed but they have gotten slower with delivery and not as helpful. So I was starting to question whether I would keep ordering from them since there are only 10 or more similar places within a 10-15 minute drive. Then the week of disappointment arrived.... I called Monday to place a delivery order only to be told "our driver doesn't work on Mondays." Ok, I guess hiring a back up driver just wouldn't make sense for Mondays, but ok, I'll try again another night. I called back Tuesday around 6:30pm only to be told "the driver went home early so you will need to pick it up." No, I called for delivery because my laziness told me I didn't want to go out, and I do not feel like putting on shoes. So now it's Thursday and I've got the Chinese Jones going on. No way they will fail me tonight, right? Wrong. Tonight my call for delivery was met with the response "Ah, we too busy. It will be over an hour so you need to come pick up." So, first world problems and all, but no, I'm not picking up tonight or ever. Your food isn't good enough to put up with this runaround. I'll get my MSG fix elsewhere from now on. I tried to get the restaurant to send the missing item to complete my meal. They were rude and kept saying she is busy she will call me back or call Uber. After a Uber restaurant rep called me she said is it ok that the call is recorded ; I said yes then proceeded to say there is nothing she can do because the restaurant say they placed it in bag then the call was immediately disconnected.( my bag was not tampered with; it just wasn't there) So now I call back restaurant and she said the driver must forgot to give to me. We decided to try New China because both myself and the hubster were too tired to go out, and our usual takeout spot doesn't offer delivery. I ordered the Mongolian triple, which consisted of beef, shrimp, broken noodles and chicken tossed in a brown sauce. This dish had potential to be amazing, but unfortunately it wasn't executed properly. My husband ordered beef Lo Mien with fried chicken wings. The Lo mein was too starchy, and borderline dry. The batter for the chicken was pretty good, although the chicken itself wasn't well seasoned. The employee who took our order offered us free spring rolls and we happily accepted. These were EVERYTHING! The flavor of the feeling was nice and light, and the outer wrap was fried to perfection. These alone were good enough to make a return visit. Aside from the spring rolls, the cook didn't bring the dishes to life. Everything tasted generic, he didn't put his own twist on the ingredients. Stoking it lacked personality, the food was still tasty. The service was A1. The staff were friendly and eager to help. In addition to the free spring rolls, they delivered the food in under 30 minutes in POURING RAIN! This is huge in my book! Would I recommend New China to a friend? No, not quite. I'm very surprised on the high review this place recieved. I got the most basic order of roast pork fried rice and general Tso chicken. I received regular large chewy pieces of regular pork and tasteless rice. The chicken was 90% breading and 10% chicken. I ate dinner here one night with The Boy, and we weren't terribly impressed. There were no dinner combinations on the menu (with the exception of the nightly special, which came with a spring roll), which is a huge turn-off for me. The "fried" rice was plainly just steamed rice that had been tossed with some soy sauce--there was nothing fried about it, and it had no veggies or egg in it. The entrees were okay, but again, nothing special. Eating in this restaurant was awkward, because it was a tiny dining room with only 10 tables. It's easy to see that they make their money through deliveries, and they don't cater much to their dine-in customers. Our server wasn't terribly friendly, and the decor was the usual stuff that you see in older Chinese restaurants. Really, there was nothing about this place that stood out or made me want to return. While visiting my sister I decided to order Chinese food for them. I looked up and found New China. They had the most stars of the Chinese restaurants listed in the area. I found the staff very friendly. The food was great. I would say my only complaint is there is no meat in the wontons. I constantly visit New China for lunch because it is not only convenient and inexpensive, but yummy and CLEAN! Lunch combos are under $6.00 and the portion sizes are pretty large. It is family owned so you continuously see the same welcoming faces when you come through the door, and they remember you which is always wonderful! Yet it is not only the customer service that makes this restaurant golden in my eyes, but also the food portioning and the interior design. These are all vital components which make or break a restaurant, and for me, New China absolutely deserves 5 stars. As mentioned above, customer service is perhaps one of the most vital components of running a business, and for New China, they completely understand what is expected as a customer walks in. Upon walking into the restaurant there is always someone there to greet you, whether it be the manger, or any other staff. Greeting the customer is always big for me and so is the attitude of staff and in this case, it is always positivity which in turn gives the restaurant a pleasant vibe to it. Yet businesses don't always run smoothly, therefore, there will always be customers who become upset from generic mistakes such as food not living up to their expectations. However, what is great, is that not only does that staff listen to the complaints, but they also apologize to the customers and take their feedback to create a solution so that it does not happen again in the future. As for the food, there are many mixed feelings in this case. Many reviewers claimed that their food was not up to their standards, or that the food was bland and had no flavor. There was even one reviewer who although they loved the food, claimed that there was no creativity in the food and lacked inspiration. On the other hand, there were plenty of other reviewers who claimed that the food was more than delicious, and they absolutely loved it. These people would continue to compliment the food and in turn continue to eat here. But, this did not stop them from being successful. No, on the contrary, what many people find as a problem, they solved this by adjusting their interior seating, and adding painting and decorations throughout the restaurant, which in turn made it vibrant and more welcoming. Upon seeing this, not only did I realize that they had what it takes to run a successful business, but they also always had their customers in mind so that they could have a relaxing meal, whether it be a party of one, or a whole family. As previously mentioned, New China is a small but humble restaurant. The food quality is above average, and the food portioning is more than generous. There is plenty of parking as they are located in a plaza. The interior design is more than beautiful which in turn makes the interior vibrant. However, the most important thing is their customer service. Not only do they welcome and properly greet the guests, but the hospitality that they give will always be the best in my books.
