I love this place and hope it does well under its new management! Best Thai food in the area in my opinion. When you walk in you can hear Thai music playing and it definitely has an authentic feel to the decor. The hostess we spoke to was charming and helpful and made adjustments to our order with no problem. We wanted to add protein (shrimp) to the kid's fried rice and it was only an additional $7 charge for five very large shrimp in a generous portion. The Thai tea was authentic and delicious, not too sweet. We had the pad see ew, which was perfect. The texture of the noodles was chewy and not soggy, egg was plentiful, chicken was plentiful, they definitely got all the flavors right! Wow what a gem! This family business is so precious. The husband is the cook and has a special talent to transform your palate through the food he prepares! We ordered the drunken noodles (Pad Ke Mao) and the sweet and sour chicken with a side fried rice. The lunch came with soup or salad. My wife got the coconut soup and I got the ginger salad. The soup was well balanced and flavored perfectly. The drunken noodles and the sweet and sour chicken were so delicious and perfect portion size. It was perfectly seasoned and very flavorful. My wife and I were very amazed and caught off guard at how delicious our entire meal was. The owner who waited on us was such a delight and took care of us with such a cheerful presence. The service was quick and server was attentive and very knowledgeable on menu. They had a big board listing the specials for the day. We ordered a chicken Larb salad and a chicken pad Thai. I had asked for extra Thai hot as I enjoy my meals especially Thai food more if it's really spicy. The chicken larb was great. Flavorful and spicy. But pad Thai was mildly spice and semi bland. When I asked if they had fresh peppers, server took initiative and took my dish back and had it remade. It was definitely a lot better after. Not only was it spicy but the flavors were hitting. The color as well- being a self appointed pad thai expert (LOL) the color just looked right and indicated it's full of flavors and not bland. I really enjoyed it then. We ordered via food delivery: - Kung Pao: I do see how another review mentioned how the food could be a bit overly salty, it's not even take out nor authentic it's a bit watered down versus glazed but has a good base taste. Came with white rice and a spring roll which was delicious and loved the sauce that came with it - $13.50 - Pad Prik Khing: I got this with chicken and was pretty disappointed in how sweet it ended up being. I am used to savory maybe a hint of sweetness type Thai but this was sweet. This also came with rice and a spring roll. - $13.50 All in all, I think the spices and food is more catered to western taste versus authentic and/or normal take out. I did kind of feel maybe these were put together with Asian grocery store sauces like pre-mixed ? The food wasn't totally unappetizing but I think I will skip this place in the future as we really couldn't find a way to finish our food. My coworker and I dined here Friday for lunch and we were very impressed with our experience! Fresh Bowl is a small restaurant with a few tables at the end of a shopping plaza. The interior is fresh and clean with minimal decoration and only a couple of servers for the entire restaurant. There were a few patrons dining when my coworker and I arrived and throughout our meal, there was a steady flow of patrons. My coworker and I wanted to try a variety of dishes so decided to share instead of ordering individual meals. We were able to try the following: - Pad See Ew - Stir fried flat rice noodles with chicken, egg, broccoli, and carrots in brown sauce. - General Tso's Chicken - Deep fried battered chicken with bell peppers in a spicy and sweet sauce. Served with jasmine rice and spring roll. - Spicy Mango Chicken - Deep fried battered chicken with bell peppers, mango chunk, and basil leaves in spicy mango sauce. Served with jasmine rice, and spring roll. Our lunch specials were served with a complimentary soup, which was an unexpected pleasant surprise. All three dishes very delicious and exceeded my expectations. I especially enjoyed the light breading on both the General Tso's and Mango chicken; I really dislike when these dishes are served with a thick or heavy breading so I this made all the difference here. I went here cause I been craving mango sticky rice. $12 for this dessert is crazy but also they don't put the extra cream of coconut sauce on it so it's extra dry. The little side of whip cream isn't enough nor does it do the dessert justice. I wouldn't recommend unless you like dry rice. My sisters and I were shopping at Discover Mills and one of them was in the mood for some Thai food. Fresh bowl was the only other Thai restaurant in the area besides the one located in the mall. (I actually use to work down the street and been wanting to stop by for a long time). We arrived right when they opened on a Monday and were seated right away. They had every other booth blocked to keep customers separated due to Covid. Lots of restaurants had stopped doing this. +1000 stars We ordered the papaya salad, spicy beef salad, Panang Curry, appetizer sampler, and some stir fry noodles. Everything was pretty good. The papaya salad and spicy beef salad just needed some extra spice. The staff was really attentive, probably because we were the only customers that ate in the entire time we were there. Fresh Bowl is good! I'm a fan of their Pad Thai, crab rangoon, Green Curry, papaya salad, etc. Everything tastes fresh! You can tell a lot of care and love goes into their dishes. I was very excited to come here looking at their reviews. Cute place and surprised by the fact that what we saw in photos were not on the menus. We ordered soups to start that was not on the menu. We ordered Tom yum and Tom kurkai. Burg lacked salt. The Tom yum was ok, I had better and worse. The coconut soup had way too much acid. Not enough coconut milk. We ordered drunken noodles and Panama curry. Both were much better that the soup. Very tasty. Not hot at all. I love finding a new place especially when I need a new place. We went to Fresh Bowl - Thai and Chinese Cuisine tonight while we're out near Sugarloaf Mill. We've needed to "up" our Thai game and this is the place. From outside it is unassuming, but inside it is decorated nicely and very comfortable. And the food was, well, it was FRESH and delicious. I had the Pad Khing - a light ginger sauce and lots of veggies and shrimp - it was perfect! My husband has the Curry Noodles and it was so much food that he's bring half of it home. Usually with half stars I would round up, however, I think this place deserves 3 stars. Though our food picks were pretty solid, some things were off. My go-to dish for a Thai place is typically pad Thai. That wasn't the case as my friend said the pics on Yelp looked like color was missing from it. Hmm. I rather not try an Americanized version. The Thai coffee was $3.50. A pretty average price. Though the "prettier" glassware they use holds less coffee. And I haven't really experienced where after consuming Thai coffee, I was still feeling sleepy. Yeah. It 'twas less coffee in that glass. The spicy basil noodles (pad khee mao) looked and tasted good. It wasn't really spicy though, just oily. Though at $11, it's more parallel to Atlanta prices imo. The portion size was generous so I'm okay with that price point. The green curry the hubs had was okay. The color was off though -- there seems to be a pattern here. For $12, it was meh. Thanks for letting us know there was an extra $2 for brown rice. Our friend's spicy basil fried rice was pretty good. He almost had an uncharged had he not asked about something costing extra. They seem to play the petty game of not disclosing these hidden charges. I personally think it's petty of them to try to squeeze an extra few marginal dollars from customers. The little things like upcharging for wanting Thai coffee without ice is sort of a negative in my books. I noticed it on the drink menu, which isn't on a separate paper or booklet but stashed on a table topper with the alcohol stuff off to the side. And they seem to happily upcharge without informing the customer. Lastly, their prices are those more like Atlanta. As this is Lawrenceville, I'm pretty surprised. I suppose since Fresh Bowl Thai is near Sugarloaf Mills, this attributed to the higher prices. Summary: Food was okay. Prices parallel to that of Atlanta. They like to uncharged and not inform you. Fresh Bowl is Ahh-mazing !!! I'm been looking for great chinese food forever and it's been let down after let down. Last night I decided to give it one more go, I searched high & low and read bad review after bad review... then I came upon fresh bowl and decided to give a try. So glad I did ! We had shrimp fried rice, fried chicken wings, crab rangoon, spring rolls, and sesame chicken. (Yes I know that's a lot of food but we were really excited!) Let me tell you, I have nothing bad to say about any of it. The shrimp fried rice was my favorite, large shrimp & well seasoned rice with lots of bean sprouts (those are my fave). The chicken wings were a great size, crispy and super tasty. Spring rolls perfect. Crab rangoon perfect. My little one even enjoyed all the food as well & she is very picky. Really nice woman appears to run the place, but candidly the food isn't that good. The Pad Thai is bland, lacking that shrimp oil or tamarind flavor. It's pale in color and tastes as such and the chicken almost tastes slightly battered. The curries are so over coconut milked that they lack even the color of what they're supposed to be. It literally looks like milk and has an overly thick consistency. Papaya salad bland and lacks flavor. I ordered a variety of dishes such has pad woon sen, pad Thai, sesame chicken, crab Rangoon, Tom yum soup, thai style fried rice, Moo Goo Gai Pan, and Szechwan chicken, and they all weren't good. *The Tom yup soup was sour and was the worst Tom yum soup I ever eaten. *The pad woon sen was just okay, I had better. *The pad Thai was pale and dry without any flavor. *The Crab Rangoon was just any typical Chinese fast food and nothing exciting. *The sesame chicken didn't taste like sesame chicken but some type of chicken covered in sauce. *The Moo Goo Gai Pan tasted like just steamed chicken and vegetables. *The Szechwan Chicken was Szechwan at all but some sweet sauce. They shouldn't call it Szechwan if they can't make it Szechwan. Also it wasn't spicy at all. Just sweet. *the Thai style fried rice was just any typical fried rice. I can't express how much I regret that decision. I've had crappy pad Thai in college but this is beyond the world. I ordered a shrimp pad Thai and a Thai ice tea. As you can see in the picture, the noodles have no color, no sauce, under cooked, and no flavor of pad Thai. It's like the cook did not even try to use the tamarind sauce. The Thai ice tea is another bad story. It tastes like an overly sweet ginger water. I can't even taste the milk (maybe they use powder milk or creamer)...
