Lavender Asian Bistro was fairly populated on a late Friday night. We loved the decor of the place and they really lean in on the purple lavender elements in the restaurant. It was a nice change of pace from other restaurants I've been to that serve thai/sushi. The food was decent - definitely not up to my personal standards for Thai food. I ordered the tofu pad thai as usual and the actual tofu was really good but perhaps the sauce of the pad thai left more to be desired. Something tasted off and it's a bit difficult to describe. My friend who was with me also got pad thai but shrimp and he agreed with my sentiment to a point where we both went "It's good... but different." He also ordered hot and sour soup as a starter and noted the wonton chips were stale (or getting to the point of being stale). All in all, I don't regret coming here but I left feeling a bit disappointed given that I enjoyed the ambience. My search for the best Thai spot in the Lawrenceville area continues.

Coconut Ch8cken Soup and California roll and Avocado roll It's all very disappointing

Very Dissatisfied, been going her for 15 years! This was what my Lavender Thai order for 50 dollars was today !!!

This place has really good vibes! Love the ambiance, kinda dark and relaxing. We came for the Chinese food, I do not eat a lot of rice these days but when I do, I want it to be worth the calories and it was, the fried rice was good. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken with fried rice wonton soup. The portions were huge, unfortunately I was not a fan of the sauce served with the chicken it was really sweet and fruity, it gave off a pineapple/ tangerine taste, so I decided to eat the chicken with out the sauce. The service was great and the prices were pretty reasonable. I will probably try the sushi on my next visit

Stopped in for a nice Chinese lunch. Service was good felt bad for waiter as he was only one there for about 8-10 tables. Food was hot and delivered in a timely manner. Main dish was very good , Hit n Sout soup was milder than I am use to but still good. Will Definitely be back.

I travel across the country now with my new job and I still make a point to come back here. Respectful, humble, delicious. Highly recommend their ichiban roll and their tso's chicken. They have an entire (and I mean ENTIRE, like several pages long) inclusive menu for my girlfriend who medically has to eat gluten-free that is also delicious. I could go on and on, I love it here and you will too.

We have been coming to Lavender for nearly 20 years. The management has changed a lot over the years. The food is still amazing but the service is very slow. They don't keep a full waitstaff it seems. Even our favorite server now works at another place in Grayson. I cannot say anything negative about the food. Especially the sushi. Always fresh and expertly prepared.

Awesome food. Never tried this place before. Ordered the Pad Prik. It was so yummy I came back a few days later and got it again.

As a long time Lavender customer, I love their food. Over the years, the personnel has changed but the food is still tops in my book.

Sesame chicken here doesn't look or taste like sesame chicken. I would not recommend this restaurant.

It's hard to find solid Chinese takeout, but this place is fantastic, and I'll definitely be coming back. The lo mein had the perfect texture and vegetable ratio, the fried rice was seasoned beautifully, and the veggies had a nice crisp to them. The sesame chicken was especially impressive--most places serve it soggy within minutes, but here, it still had a great crunch despite being takeout. The sauce-to-chicken ratio was spot on, and the chicken pieces were just the right size. The spring roll was another highlight--still crispy with a great crunch, even after the drive home. If you're looking for quality Chinese food, this is the place to go.

Everything you are familiar with, including Egg Foo Young and a few others you can't always get elsewhere. This is my go to take out. Call ahead or order at the window. There's a lot of yelling in the kitchen, but I stay out of other folks' business, but the food is fast and moderately cheap.

The portion here is hugeeeee. We couldn't finish it and had enough left over for dinner. The crispy pork was very crispy. We liked that the sauce was served separately. The shrimp were delicious and prepared just like I'm used to. This dish is lightly battered fried shrimp with a soy sauce bases sauce with red pepper and black pepper spices. It also features other sautéed veggies like green peppers and onions. The shrimp were spiced nicely, but also had the flavor of black pepper coming through. A lot of places don't get that right. The perfect mix of that spice red pepper heat and hint of black pepper are exactly why I love about this dish. The shrimp were fried perfectly and the veggies deliciously sauted. The Haemul Jjampong was a flavor and spice bomb. The broth was so flavorful and had a great essence of the seafood in it (squid, mussels, abalone). This soup is also for people not afraid of the spice...it was SPICY, but no so much that it was unenjoyable. The spice complemented the flavor and I loved it. The take-home of the leftovers was just as good the next day! If I had to say anything that they might think of changing, would be the addition of kimchi to the banchan. The banchan was ddanmuji (pickled radish, raw white onions, marinated white onion slivers, and soy marinated peanuts). A little plate mat kimchi to wrap around the Jjampong noodles would be perfection.
