This restaurant is located in the Krogers shopping center right off Windward Pkwy at Hwy 9 in Alpharetta area. There is plenty of parking space. Apparently the restaurant has been closed for dine in since Coviad 2020 and only does take out. Me and my coworkers came on a Friday night and it was just too busy. I ordered the Shredded Beef Sichuan Style which includes shredded beef, carrots, bell peppers, and bamboo shoots sauteed with a spicy Sichuan sauce. It came with white rice. This dish was incredibly delicious and just had a hint of mild spicyness. My coworker got the Sweet & Sour Chicken and Crab Rangoons. He didn't seem to like it too much because he was used to the Americanized Chinese food like Panda Express. My other coworker got the Dragon and Phoenix which includes shrimp and slices of chicken breast sauteed with Chinese greens in a light sauce. The portions are huge and matches the prices. I used to love stopping by to pick up an order of Egg Food Young from this location. It's been a while so I decided to check out the reviews to make sure quality and service haven't declined. Now there have been times that I noticed I wasn't greeted or even looked at when going to pick up my order, especially by the female owner. I would shrug it off and keep going. WELL after reading the reviews about the racism and horrible service I was shocked, but what's worse are the responses given by the owner. Also their profile photo picture! This place is good if you have a craving for chinese food. I wanted to go somewhere near where I work where there was good Chinese food tjat was not Panda Express. This place hit the spot. I called the restaurant to place my order to go and it was very fast and easy. The lady, who also gave me my order at the restaurant I assume, was very nice and polite. My order was ready when I got there. I ordered egg rolls and the lunch portion of the chicken and rice. I loved the chicken and vegetables, but the fried rice was a little bland but it balanced out when combined with the chicken and vegetables. They also gave a healthy portion for the amount I paid. I gave a 4 out of 5 because of the take out box and the fried rice. It was seeping out from the sides and it was hard to eat without it getting on my scrubs. I was eating in my car by the way. My bill came out to 16.95 + tip. So all in all its a good place to come to if you are looking for a Chinese restaurant with good customer service, fast service and tasty food. read more

This was a nice find in Alpharetta. Beautiful ambience with excellent service and great food. It's tucked away in the Kroger shopping center with plenty of parking. The highlights for me were the General Tsao's Chicken ($11.95) and the Mongolian Triple Delight ($13.95). The disappointment for me was the veggie spring rolls ($3.50). They were just not good. If I had to guess, I'd say it was the wraps that were used. Everything else was great, but the spring rolls. Please work on this!! Overall, this is a great representation of authentic Chinese cuisine. I would've easily given them a 4+, but they've got to work on the spring roll situation. Seems we eat here a couple times a year, previously when it was thunder storming, but not this time. Saturday night it was busy but not packed so we got seated right away. Unfortunately we were not privy to how busy the kitchen was with "call-in to go" orders. We were in a hurry and it took over 30 minutes to get our order. Other than that the service was good, but not outstanding. The food was great as always. The egg drop soup with, neat surprise of shrimp and spinach, was fantastic. My lovely wife enjoyed Moo Gu Gai Pan and I had Mongolian Beef. Excellent taste and flavors, generous portions and served with steamed white rice. However, as we were in a hurry to get to a performance, we only got a few bites on board before we had to get the rest "to go". Next time we will allow more time to enjoy the ambiance and food at Linns. read more

We had not had Lin's in awhile because we live 30 minutes away now. Wife suggested it and I went down for pickup. Everything was ready and waiting when I got there. What a pleasant surprise when I was greeted by name. I remembered that I had been going to Lins for over 20 years. Well I got home, everything was still piping hot and ready. The Hot and Sour is perhaps the best I have ever had. Having traveled around the world, I can judge the deliciousness of the food by the first taste of Hot and Sour soup. Lin's soup has been consistently delicious for that same 20+ years. I also had the Szechuan chicken. Amazing! Tender chicken, flavored with the right balance of heat and savory orange sauce. My wife had the chicken lo mein. She loved it and kept going back to the container for just a little more. She also had the wonton soup and said it was great. So, if you are looking for fresh made, delicious food, Lin's is the place. Thank you so much for such a wonderful dinner!! Great service, delicious food, good value. I've been going to this place for years and it is absolutely spectacular. I have been to hundreds of Chinese restaurants in my life and this is one of the best. I wouldn't be too concerned about the negative comments on here. If you read them, it's mostly comments about the owner being rude to them. I can't speak for their experiences but I have been eating there for over five years and have never had a problem. If you are nice to them, they will be nice to you. If you are looking for a place where the owner is going to sit down and have dinner with you this probably isn't your place lol. Came here for a take-out dinner as I'm looking to support local businesses in the midst of COVID-19. The food was ready quickly, so that was nice. Unfortunately, though, I don't think this is a restaurant I would visit again during this pandemic. Upon arrival to the restaurant, they have no curbside option set up or even any people handing you your food at the entrance to limit how much contact you must have with people and the restaurant. Worse still was the fact that the two employees I dealt with inside the restaurant were utilizing no health safety gear - no gloves OR masks. While I understand that does not necessarily mean things are contaminated, ALL essential business employees should be wearing at MINIMUM masks, especially while interacting directly with patrons who are trying to help support them. I found this EXTREMELY concerning and, honestly, unacceptable. Aside from that, my food was fairly average. I got the house lo mein and, while not bad, was not as flavorful as many others I've had in the past. Overall, my rating would almost certainly be at least slightly better had I not encounter an irresponsible lack of use of preventative health care measures; however, I'm not sure I want to try food from here again once the pandemic has passed as I don't want to support a business that has such a lack of regard for people's health safety. read more

After that my husband randomly ordered takeout from Lin's and again we were not pleased with the quality or taste. Ordered take-out again years later...that time I said NEVER again. Longer story short ordered food yesterday (because Yan's Asian Cuisine was closed) its during pandemic, I'd hoped the quality, management, or Chef had changed...DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR CASH. You've been warned. Tried them 4 times too many and not 1 time were my tastebuds content or satisfied. Growing up I loved Chinese food. To be honest though, that love has kind of cooled over the years. Nowadays, I am much more likely to be found in a Thai or Korean restaurant than a Chinese joint, BUT when I am in the mood for good Chinese food, Lin's is the only place I think of out here in the burbs. While not as "authentic" as the Chinese restaurants on Buford Highway, saying Lin's is "Americanized" isn't quite fair either. The dishes are always well prepared and fantastic. The vegetarian options are very good, with Sesame Tofu being a definite recommendation from this Yelper. The interior of Lin's is intimate and inviting. The decor, water feature, and lighting will let you forget that your car is parked outside in a Kroger lot and has probably had a cart roll into it. I get a lot of take out from here as well, and it is always up quick and correctly. So I guess in the end I agree with the most interesting man in the world who also says..."I don't always eat Chinese food, but when I do, I eat the Sesame Tofu at Lin's" read more

I wish I could write a review on the food here, but the rude service (which a few other reviewers warned me about) sent me out the door before I could order. Admittedly, I had a well behaved four year old with us and if you don't have a child - you might get better service. We entered to a less than warm welcome, but the place looked clean and tranquil for a strip mall. My son asked if we could sit in the booth, rather than a table, and we were quickly told booths are not for children. It should be noted that there were only two other tables seated in the entire establishment. When she poured water for the adults at the table, she didn't offer anything to our son. Then, she returned to ask if we would like anything other than water and I asked if she had milk. She didn't, which is fine, but she still didn't offer water to our son. She was clearly upset we had a child in her eatery - in the suburbs of Alpharetta / Milton. We got up and walked out. I had a friend suggest Lin's to me for lunch and I was really impressed. The service they provide in a sit down lunch setting is unmatched. We weren't seated more than 30 seconds before a server came to take our order. The food was cooked quickly too and served to us about 5 minutes after we ordered. Good selection of chicken, pork, meat, and seafood dishes. Great deals on lunch specials that come with hot and sour soup. Also really enjoy the ambiance inside. My husband and I have been eating here for 20 years. We find the staff great, the food delicious, and the ambience is spectacular. Ordered take out from here for the first time. Pork Fried Rice- Full of veggies. Tasted average.. not to bad Beef Teriyaki- Hubby loved it. Was very tender and had great taste. Sweet&Sour Chicken- There was Lots of breading. All the Veggies were on top so all of our chicken was soggy :( The sweet and sour sauce was like thick jelly and hardened... U could tip it upside down and it wouldn't move.. No joke! Lin's is a small unassuming restaurant holding its own amongst multiple large scale and chain restaurants, but none are better than Lin's. None come even close. It is located in a small strip mall on the corner of Hwy 9 & Winward. Don't let the location fool you, or the other big flashy restaurants in the nearby area lead you astray. You won't get better food or service in any of them. I guarantee. Lin's menu focuses on "select dishes created to capture the distinct flavors and styles of the five major culinary regions of China: Canton, Hunan, Mandarin, Mongolia and Szechwan." They have captured, they were successful. On a hot Alpharetta day, coming into Lin's almost feels like you stepped into a calm cool waterfall of peace and quiet and soft music. The lighting is low and the tables are set on different levels which gives you the perspective of dining alone. It is relaxing, quiet and the food is all it is cracked up to be - excellent. I love to come here for lunch or dinner when everyone else is rushing off to stand in the long lines waiting to get into one of the big chains so they can sit elbow-to-elbow with others eating mass produced, out-of-a can, microwaved, having-sat-under-a-heat-lamp-far-too-long, "stuff" that cannot be identified . . . while I am served real food that was prepared fresh AFTER I ordered it. We had a wonderful experience at this location. The food came out quickly and full of flavor. I really enjoyed the hot and sour soup and my kung poa entree. I ordered it extra spicy and they came through in that department. The jasmine tea was pretty good to. The service was pretty good and the owner stopped by the table twice to make sure everything was on point. My only complaints was that it was a little bit oily and the fried rice was somewhat bland in comparison to the flavors of everything else. I will definitely come back to this restaurant. read more

Tonight must have been an "off" night for Lin's. It's been awhile since we've eaten here & tonight we ordered take-out. While 2 of our meals were as expected (chicken fried rice and spicy chicken), the Po-Po platter that my son ordered was less than mediocre as were the potsticker appetizer. The ribs in the platter were super tough and the potstickers tasted old, not fresh. We don't usually make a fuss but the Po-Po platter was so disappointing for the $17 that we decided to let management know and inquired about a partial refund. The woman who answered the phone said, "no refunds" & didn't offer her understanding of our experience and then she hung-up the phone on us. While I can understand that policy, the customer service was equally sub-par to our dish. Maybe it was just an "off" night in the kitchen, but unfortunately we won't be giving Lin's another try. read more
