These bad reviews are fake new! My husband and I used to come here all the time when we lived in Grain Valley, and even after nearly 10 years in Blue Springs, it's still just as good. With the lack of quality Chinese takeout in Blue Springs, Lin's is absolutely worth the short drive. Online ordering makes it easy, and the owners are always so kind and welcoming. Our favorites: pu pu platter, Mongolian beef, egg drop wonton, and hot & sour soup. Decided to go for carryout as this family-owned restaurant was recommended to me. I went and placed an order there in the restaurant for carryout. The staff was friendly and attentive to all the customers waiting on orders. Restaurant was clean. Ordered the orange chicken and General Tso's chicken, both with fried rice and fried crispy wontons. The orange chicken was slightly different than I'm used to, but still enjoyable. General chicken was also good. I may pass on the wontons in the future as they were not my cup of tea. All good things to say about this restaurant though. We'll go back again! read more

We ordered out from here. When we got there, our order was ready which was great. It was already bagged and tied up. When we got home, we found that our order was all the way wrong. We were missing most of our order and it had been replaced with multiple cartons of chicken fried rice and steamed rice. The Crab Ragoon was just cream cheese and sugar. The egg rolls were chewy. My husband called for takeout. The lady that answered the phone was barking orders quite militantly. He wanted to cancel the order, or let them make it and just not pick it up. I decided to go in and get it and be nice. I think it's just the temperament of that one lady. I noticed some issues this time that deserve to be documented. The restaurant is dirty, smelled of rancid oil. The floors were caked with grease. The walls look like they are falling apart, peeling paint, walls appear to be cut in half to make a pony wall, but not finished. You can still see painted joint tape sticking up. The food: horrible! The chicken had a slimy layer on it that caused me to not want to eat it. The rice was very oily. The sweet and sour sauce tasted fine, but the heartburn at 3 am was not fun. I wish I could give a zero. Called today and placed an order and was told 10-15 minutes. I get to the restaurant and there's a sign on the door that they are closed from 6/24 through 8/1. Door is locked so I went back to my car. I called the number again after confirming that I didn't call a wrong number. The man who answered the phone said they were open today and he'd have someone come open the front door. I went back to the front door while on hold and there was no one. I was on hold for 3 minutes and hung up. He called me back and said uh yeah they are closed today. Ridiculous. While writing this review. I received a 2nd call back from a different man telling me that they were cancelling my order due to an emergency. I have tried this restaurant several times and it is consistently delicious! The dumplings and spring rolls and crab Rangoon is great! And the General Tsao's chicken, sesame chicken and sweet and sour chicken are all delicious and nicely seasoned without a lot of extra salt. The only downside is they don't do Door Dash. To say this place is good scares me. Kung po Delight was made wrong had to drive all the way back across town. Asked for spicy got no spice chicken and beef over veggies was the description online. I've been there three times and each time I am impressed. It's clean decorated nice and the food is inexpensive yummy and your order is done in just a few minutes. It's small inside but they do a lot of take out orders. I've been looking for a new Chinese restaurant and now I have found the one for me. Egg rolls are great and crab Rangoon is sweet. If you're hungover and on the east side of town, Lin's Kitchen is a great place to slink in and slink out in the pajamas you're still wearing at 3 in the afternoon. Prices are cheap considering the portion sizes. Ordering a 'small' entree for dinner? Plan to share it with a friend. They send your take-out away so hot, it's still steaming when you get home. I also appreciate how they package the liquids like sauces and soup. They're in plastic bowls with secure lids. Haven't opened a to-go bag and discovered a gooey mess ever. Beware the breaded/fried chicken or shrimp entrees though. Lin's is not afraid to get down and dirty with the breading. Overboard in my opinion but some people like it that way. Lunch specials are nice. Lower prices, smaller portions. If you call in your order, it's almost a guarantee it will be ready when you get there, unless you call it in from the parking lot. Even then, you won't wait long. Oh yes, the parking lot. Lin's is in a decent little strip plaza. A grocery store, a salon, a couple other places to eat. But the parking lot is pure cabbage. If you've got 4-wheel-drive, you'll need it. This is by no means gourmet Asian cuisine and it is not at all fine dining. But they aren't trying to be. They serve standard Americanized Chinese food. It's pretty tasty and the staff is friendly. It isn't going to blow your taste buds away or become your most favorite place to eat but if you've burned all your mad money on cocktails the night before, it's the perfect way to recover on a budget. read more

This is, as another review has said, fairly standard Americanized Chinese food. There's nothing here that's going to blow your mind. It's a fairly humble little restaurant that doesn't have any aspirations to be the absolute best in the world, but it consistently gives some of the best "standard" take-out Chinese food you can get around here. The prices are reasonable, the staff is friendly, order-to-food times are small, and the food is pretty much the best you could reasonably expect from a restaurant of this sort. Nothing here will make you think, "this is the best Chinese food I've ever had," but it could very well make you think, "this is some awesome take-out Chinese, we should get stuff from here more often." It's been around for roughly a decade, and having grown up having their food every couple months since their opening, I can say that the quality has gone a bit uphill, but on the whole, I think that it is the restaurant's consistency after all this time that has allowed it to last this long. It has never degraded in quality over time, so it's a reliably good restaurant and I don't see it diverging from that. read more

Lin's is a hidden gem in Grain Valley, MO. I've lived here for a few years now and I've been looking for a good restaurant to order take out from. Or even get delivery on the days when I just don't feel like cooking. I went here yesterday around 6pm to pick up dinner on my way home from work. Since it was my first time there, I just glanced over the menu and ordered the dinner portions of General Tso's Chicken and Orange Chicken. They each came with a side of rice and fortune cookies. The restaurant is very small and it doesn't seem like a lot of people go there to dine-in. I was surprised when my order was ready so quickly. I had barely sat down to wait and they were already calling my name! I unpacked all the food from my bag when I got home and everything was still piping hot and they came in microwave/dishwasher safe containers (which are great to keep and reuse too!). The chicken tasted really good. I'm glad that even though they're both covered in sauce, they were still crunchy and not soggy. I was only able to eat 1/4 of mine, but I love having leftovers for the next day. Safe to say this restaurant is going to be my newest go-to for great Chinese take out close to home. read more
