Made an appointment for a no chip manicure and explained when I walked in for my appointment that I had liquid gel on that needed to be taken off. I also asked how long it would take for a no chip manicure and pedi. They asked if I wanted to do both and I said no just no chip mani, as I didn't have the time. They asked what color and I stated I was unsure but will let them know shortly. The nail tech proceeded to take off my liquid gel and was having difficulty, shaking etc...I requested for my nails to be short but not too short because I still wanted the almond shape and the skin underneath my nails is long. I asked if she was going to clip them and then file, she said yes. She proceeded to clip my nails where there is barely any nail left and then one nail so short where she cut my skin off. I asked if she can give me a discount immediately she said she will talk to someone about it. After an hour she said she was done and to wash my hands. It still looked as if some of the liquid gel was still on but I proceeded to wash my hands. I came back and showed her the color I wanted, she said "oh no you said you only wanted a take off, we don't have time my next client is here" I stated that is not what I said. They gave me the soak off for free. I left immediately. I went to another nail shop nearby and they stated they barely did anything. I had to get the rest of the polish taken off and finally a no chip polish. I wasted my time in that shop. At least I paid nothing. NEVER go there! Unprofessional! If you can't provide my service just say that before you take me as a customer. read more

I've been to this salon probably 10 times because it's close to home, but the last two times there have been horrible. Thought I'd give them a chance but two bad experiences in a row, I'm not returning. The nail tech was rude, aggressive and caused a painful mani/pedi. She clearly did not care about my discomfort even though I made it clear my hands/feet don't bend in the direction she was forcing them. Instead, I was getting scolded by her constantly. Horrible customer service. They also had soda cans from prior customers still at the chair I was placed at. Take your money elsewhere. read more

I went in for the first time on Sunday afternoon to get a no-chip (gel) manicure. The technician who did my manicure rushed through the process, did sloppy work, and when I asked for some touch-ups on the manicure (ie: needed cleaning up, needed an extra coat of polish), she refused and said she would have to charge me extra for an additional coat of polish. I was very disappointed by the sloppy work and rude service. I will definitely not be returning. I have also learned based on other reviews that the no-chip mani is supposed to include the collagen glove treatment, which I did not receive. read more

I came here last Sat. and it was my first visit. I got nochip manicure, lady at reception was really nice and helped me pick up the color (I am very indecisive). Store was pretty big and it was cute. They have attic-kinda area upstairs but it's open space so ceiling is high which I really like because you get this chemical stings much less compare to other salons. Most important part: my nochip has been one week and non of my nails has chipped off. It still stays perfectly and I love it! I think I will be regular here, definitely recommend! read more

Don't go here! This is supposed to be a friendly neighborhood spot but they are unfriendly and greedy. They claim to have a guarantee on your no chip for up to a week. If you do have a chip they just spot check it with the color. If you do request for them to fix the entire actual nail, they charge you $10. Not the warm, gracious, and appreciative shop that you'd expect to be in a family friendly neighborhood like Lakeview. Super disappointing! read more

I have been coming to Linzy for a few years now. They changed ownership fairly recently and I didn't know it was possible for them to get any better, but they did. The No Chips come with a collagen treatment that moisturizes and protects your hands from the light. My cuticles are always an issue and the time and attention to detail they spend on them is great. I also love that they offer a rewards program. This pays off as I come every two weeks. Normally I would say the name of a favorite technician, but in all honesty, each one there is just as great as the next. The salon is immaculate and their appts always run on time. Although I live right down the street, I have friends that now travel across the city to come to Linzy. They are the best! read more

I also love that they put a pair of collagen gloves on my hands because then it protects my hands from the UV light. It was $35 which is a bit on the expensive side but the quality is worth it. I had a terrible experience at this salon. I purchased a mani/pedi - a simple service to complete. The nail technician for the mani was using blunt tools on me, and I'm pretty sure they were used on the customer before me (and before her). I've never had a PAINFUL manicure before... until I came to this place. She was ripping my cuticles out with her dirty/blunt tools, and I told her that I needed to soak my nails more in soap water, and I asked for a new emery board (used ones spread nail fungus, people!!!) and clean tools out of the sanitizing machine. She pretended like she couldn't hear me/couldn't understand me. She filed my nails down to stubs, and I had plenty of length going into the salon. It got to the point where she was filing my damn skin on my thumb, and I pulled away! I ended up with infections on THREE of my fingers. The woman working on my toes was clearly inexperienced, and skipped steps of the pedicure. They were all rushing to leave the salon, because I took the last available appointment that day. The experience was VERY unprofessional, and I would not recommend this salon to anyone in Chicago. Sidenote: the salon looks bright and clean from the sidewalk looking in, but beware, their tools are old, and their chairs are dirty, and falling apart as well. No amount of bright paint on the walls, and bleach on the floors can make up for the lack of customer service, and the dirty items in this salon. I've never been so disappointed with a salon in my life. read more

I have searched for years to find a salon that was affordable and could do the type of high quality services that would last with the products I love (CND Shellac on my hands and Essie on my feet). Ina is a gracious host when you walk through the doors of her establishment. Everyone who works there is fully trained and they treat their customers like family. This is by far one of the best nail salons I've found in Chicago. I moved to River North after being a customer for a year and I still make the drive back to Lincoln Park because the quality is the best I've found. My no-chip manicures generally last for three weeks when I get them done at Linzy, compared to just about two weeks at other salons in River North. Absolutely GREAT! I have been a regular client for over 10 years. Despite management and personnel changes over time, this remains my "go to" salon for manicures, pedicures and waxing. A Very welcoming and clean environment. Sam and Angie usually provide my great nail services. But other techs have done a fine job as well. I love this place! It recently changed ownership and the place got a "facelift" making it even better! The massage chairs for the pedicures are fantastic and they give you heated neck/shoulder wraps during your services. I typically get no-chip manicures and you get collagen gloves to moisturize your hands and protect them from the UV lights, which I have never been given at any other salon.
