The morning after a wedding in the area, we dropped off our suits and headed to Lion's Tale for a bit of hair of the dog. Street parking only as you get to this neighborhood spot! The space itself is awesome, with nooks and crannies for everyone, and a heated patio area. I love the plants and modern vibe of this spot! The beertenders were very friendly during our visit! The beer was delicious! I enjoyed the Oktoberfest and Pumpkin Ale best, as we visited in Fall! The can art was so cool that I also ended up taking a four pack of each home! The perfect patio beer spot! Lion's Tail Brewing has their own selection of beers, ciders, and seltzers on tap. They have rotating food trucks as well as some food one can order over from next door (Sendik's or Thai-Namite). They have plenty of seating inside at their large bar or in their main dining room as well as a fun outdoor patio that was the perfect summer vibe and dog friendly. Lions tail is such a great place for food and drinks! I love that they offer the food trucks, sendiks pizza orders and thainamite as well! It is such a convenience. Plus you can carry in your own food or snacks. It doesn't het netter than that. I also like the different ounce pours you can choose from which i really appreciate. There are only two seltzer options the blackberry and cherry limeade which are delicious. I would love to see them expand and have more hard seltzer flavors available. I highly recommend coming here. Awesome taproom with an open seating area both indoor and outdoor. Lots of kids and lots of dogs outdoor, so perfect if you're a dog lover and enjoy meeting new buddies. Personally, I'm all about the vibes, and this was pretty good (with awesome friends, which made it better). Hubby wasn't too impressed with the beer selection, though (completely personal taste - our friends were quite enamored with their selection). Along with the fact that the taco truck was somewhat disappointing, the place doesn't make the A-list. But certainly a B+. We did try the Mystery Machine, Oat of this world, Double Mo's Juice, Little Crush, 1873 historic Amber lager, and Bourbon Trail (comes in a can, not tap)(Hubby liked this one). My favorite beer was the Juice Cloud IPA. I've come to the realization that I'm definitely an IPA girl and I definitely like mine cloudy. I'm between 3-4 starts... bump up for good friends --------- I tried to find the Ochos mexican grill tacos food truck but I don't think they have a separate page. This is just a reminder of what i had and didn't like, and had no bearing on the review for lions tail. Service was friendly. Menu was weird.. Taco Place with 2 tacos+rice+beans = $16, but if you get them separately it comes out to $14. They did up their plate price but not the separate items, so it was probably just an oversight, but definitely order them separately! I guess if they read this review, their taco prices will go up... Tacos themselves were ok, though really tiny. Mini tacos. I usually am full with 2-3 tacos, but I'll definitely need more like 4-5 from here. Taste was ok. The fact that Lion's Tail has been packed every single time I've driven by since the day it opened its taproom in Wauwatosa is awesome. Been a few times now, and with how regularly they add new beers to their menu there's always a reason to go back! I love the indoor and outdoor seating and am excited to see what they come up with for the winter because I'm pretty sure everyone in the area will still want to come no matter the weather. Its location also makes it perfectly walkable and both a quick place to stop for a drink or a place to stay and hang out for a while. I love that you can order food from Sendik's right from your table, and that Lion's Tail constantly has a different food truck there to support other local businesses. They've recently been adding events there as well to support local shops outside of the food industry. And the outside patio is pup friendly which is always a plus in my book! read more

Wow, it's no secret that the locals love this brewery. We stopped by on a recent Friday afternoon and this place was hustle and bustling. I think it's so loved not only for their beer, but the atmosphere. It's quite large, with tall ceilings, and is pretty much all open-aired. This allows for lots of visitors, including pet owners and families. We had our toddler in-tow, and all the space to roam around was greatly appreciated. Just be prepared for a crowd on peak days! What's also great is they have rotating food trucks pull up to their location, so there's always plenty of options to grab to pair with your brew. I really enjoyed the Orange Dream beer, it's a hazy pale and with a hit of orange but not too much. My husband (whose beer I cannot recall) was raving about what he had. The bar itself is definitely clean and well-kept, and the ordering process is really easy and straightforward. Overall a super solid spot that I wish I lived closer to! read more

My friends and I have come a few times for trivia nights on Wednesday evenings and even though I keep wanting to check out some more places for trivia, we keep coming back! I love breweries but I actually dislike IPAs/Lagers/Wheat beers so I'm always looking for places that have a wider variety. Lion's Tail has a couple great stouts and sours that I stick to. The brewery itself doesn't offer food but every time I've gone there's been a food truck outside (they also post which food truck/when on their IG) and you can order from Sendik's across the lot that will deliver to your table. Now that it's almost summer, their outside patio has been PACKED! And the ordering/bar area is an open air right into the patio. Then they have a separate interior area where they do trivia so a LOT of seating available. For anyone interested in trivia nights, this is probably my favorite of all the places I've been to based on it's large room/available seating and the speaker system (some places it gets hard to hear based on speakers or how loud people are). read more

We took advantage of a beautiful summer night by grabbing some food at another local place and taking it to Lion's Tail. They did have a food truck and you can actually place an order from Sendiks hot counter with a QR code on LTs tables. But we were in the area specifically to pick up food somewhere else so we had that. For drinks there's another QR to easily check out the menu and a bucket with slips of numbered paper and pencils so you write down what everyone wants if you're ordering for a few people because you do go inside to order. I tried the sour Pucker Patch which was really good and definitely had a little sour punch They are dog friendly and have self serve water out on the patio, with cups for people and bowls for the pups. First time visiting and can't wait to go back! Stopped by for a late lunch and to try some of their brews. They have quite a few beers on tap and we just made it in time for their hefeweizen debut! Tried a flight which had some great options. Also liked the IPAs. Really great food situation too - you can order "to go" from Sendiks across the street for pretzels, pizzas, etc. Or, you can get food from the food truck. Opted for a combo plate at the food truck and it was great. Indoor facilities were clean, open and neat. They have lots of space to spread out and plenty of staff on hand to make sure you get your brews quickly. Great music playing throughout the space to help channel some mellow summer vibes. We have been a fan of lions tail since their original location opened in Neenah. I am a huge fan of sours and highly recommend their violet drink and haven't had a friend that disliked it! I also love the variety with seltzers as I am not always up for a beer. This place is hustling and bustling. You can see the crowd just by driving past the place looking for a a place to park in a cute little Wauwatosa neighborhood. This crowd includes their human counterpart canines. If you're allergic to dogs, I would prepare and take your anti allergy meds. But if you're a dog lover, this is the place to be! Not only can you people watch but you can't also dog watch and if the dog and owner are nice enough they'll you pet em. Oh by the way they serve lots of beer, and a huge variety of it! Just walk up / get in line at the bar, read the menu and prepare for what you'd like to taste and/or order. I tried the violet sour, it was good . But I ended up trying the Hefeweizen which was nice and hefeweizey can't go wrong with it! They do it serve food BUT of the food truck is there, then you can order food. I'm not sure if the food truck that afternoon is permanent, I assume not and would check what food truck will be there when you visit if you're looking for grub. Been to both the Tosa & Neenah location. Both places are really cool inside & obviously the beer is great. Prices are amazing for a brewery. I was surprised the place wasn't more packed at 6-7pm on NYE but Bey it was later. Glad they had at least one TV for the football game on. I got the Big Mama's Imperial Cherry Pie & my girlfriend got the Cherry Slushee. Mine was absolutely amazing. I have gotten into Sour beers since lots of local Milwaukee breweries have gotten into it but having an Imperial Sour is hard to come upon. Definitely a great place with very reasonable beer prices & nice bartenders. The bartenders even offered for samplers before we bought, which is actually just like the Neenah location & probably the only two places where bartenders have ever been so accommodating. read more

We love Lion's Tail beers so we were so happy to see them open up a new location in Milwaukee! The space is cozy but has plenty of room, including an outdoor patio with heaters. Ordering at the bar is easy and there is a clear place to order if you aren't sitting at the bar, which is always helpful. The extensive tap list has so many great options - there is something for everyone! All of the beers from Lion's Tail good quality and it's nice to be able to get a full pour or smaller pours. And it was quite nice. The ambiance and service give it the 5th star though. The bartenders were chill, think of the cool teacher in highschool who sat backwards in his chair... not that chill. As I sit and sip on the couches outside what should pull up but a taco truck!? They have a food truck lineup that shows up. As a Neenah native, I am so pumped to see. Lion's Tail make it to tosa. I checked them out on a beautiful fall Sunday and this place was packed near the bar area and outside. There was still plenty of seating in the adjacent indoor seating area. The beer is amazing, and they have something for everyone. I had the juice cloud which is a smooth hazy ipa, that I could probably drink all day. They have fun flights, fruity beers, sours and so much more. The environment is very chill, but with plenty of families and kids milling around. This is not the place I would go if I wanted a peaceful environment due to the kids, but it's a great place to meet up with friends or play some cards! The staff was very friendly and although there was a line, they were very efficient, especially for just having opened. I will be back, many many times I'm sure! read more

I went here on a Tuesday following their big opening the past weekend! I heard it was crazy busy so I figured I'd wait until a weekday to go. It was busier than I thought as it hadn't even been the official end of a workday yet. The workers were very friendly and attentive. You can tell they were trying to make a good name for themselves since they just opened! I loved seeing the effort from them and that they were all super friendly. I got a beer flight to try a variety of beers and they were all pretty good! They have a huge list with a variety of beers. Great service, great location, hopping patio. A great addition to the neighborhood, but here's the thing: I've been to Lion's Tail three times and have not had a single beer that I liked. Now...in fairness, I'm a lightweight who doesn't usually drink more than one pint at a time. So there are definitely more beers to try, but of the four I've sampled, the only one I liked wasn't even brewed by Lion's Tail. Nope, it comes from a brewery in Mequon. lions den is an awesome relatively new brewery in the tosa area. their space is massive -- with plenty of indoor space, kind of outdoor space (at least in the fall they had some screens protecting a patio space), and a central area where they often have food trucks. you can try one of their dozens of beers (flights available!) and even have some warm food options that you can order from the sendiks next door. read more

Stopped for a beer even in the rain yesterday and glad we did! The place is very spacious with amble seating (outside, inside, the taproom, hallways - they use all the space). I've been to the Neenah location so I've had the beer before so I knew I would enjoy that. They had a food truck too which was nice. We didn't grab food but plenty of people were. I always look to visit craft breweries that have a food option so I hope that continue using a food truck on weekends at least! read more

You can tell the owners, managers, and staff have put a lot of effort to build this location up this past year. Serving amazing beer, the bartenders always offer up excellent recommendations when I'm being indecisive. There are often food trucks parked here which are great additions to the brewery. I appreciate how active this brewery is on social media, so I know which food trucks will be there, what beers are being released, what events are happening, etc. Love sitting outside and I'm glad they have added fans outside - helps to cool off a bit. Had a great experience here. They just opened on Friday and they were definitely ready to go. Tons of people were in line waiting for beers and all were good. Only thing I would look at is adding additional heaters on the patio or turning them up. It was very cold and the inside was completely packed. Other than that everything was perfect! read more
