Went with family visiting for a fun outing . (Group of 5) The acoustic is awful It's so loud you can't hear what staff are saying with a very basic atmosphere and plastic uncomfortable stools. . Instructions are vague and experience is definitely NOT worth the price of about $50 per lip stick. Honestly, you get about 2 chances to see if you like the shade you select from a dirty laminated card. Three of our five mirrors didn't light up or work although staff did try and switch out ? It's a typical sales pitch to convince you to like it so they can scam the next group. You spend more time waiting on staff mixing your color and engraving the case then actually selecting a color. Please SAVE your money and head to the mall and ask a specialist at a specific counter to guide you on a lip color. I'll stick to my Clinique lipstick Don't fall for the tourist trap and I'm a local. This lipstick lab thing came across my Facebook feed for things to do in Nashville, Tennessee. It looked really neat, so I booked an appointment same day. I didn't know what to expect, but it ended up being a real treat to myself. I showed up a bit early and the staff were happy to accommodate me as the previous appointment didn't show up. I would suggest making an appointment otherwise you may have to wait. My artistic designer was Mackenna (with an "A". ). She was very sweet and walked me through different shades, tones, scents and textures. I had no idea all this went into a tube of lipstick! Like most women who wear makeup out there, I have been desperately seeking the perfect shade of lipstick and have always felt like I am so close but never quite there. This experience closed that chapter for me. Mackenna made me the PERFECT glam shade and when we both got stumped on the daily natural shade, she brought in the big guns. Insert Elise! Both ladies have their own style and often ask each other for guidance if they find themselves in stuck between shades. Elise took a look at the tones Mack was using and then looked me over and BOOM! Magic was made! She whipped up a shade and...mic drop! It was such a good time for me. Granted, I really enjoyed the friendly atmosphere, girl talk, makeup tips and giggles, but finding my perfect kiss color was a bonus. I bought two custom lipstick shades and 1 premade lip liner. I spent $142. I was able to name my two lipsticks, pick the tubes and add scent if I wanted. The scent options were limited, as were the colors of the lipstick tubes, but one cannot have it all. As they say. This was fun and I plan on taking my daughter to do this when we go to Los Angeles next month. I was here on 5/17/25 having a late birthday celebration for my bestie. She picked this activity to do. First I have to say that scheduling and rescheduling is a breeze with them, everything is online and we did have to do this 3 times sadly before we actually settled on a date and time. We got there about 30 min early and just sat outside. We walked in about 8 min till and a kind late checked us in and directed us where to sit. Our instructor's name was Caitlyn and she was fabulous! She thoroughly explained everything to us right down to matching us via the color wheel. She asked what products we were interested in, I originally wanted just the balm because I have worked from home for the past almost 6 years and don't wear makeup that often, but after speaking to her she let me try my color (one specifically for me) in the balm, the satin lipstick and the gloss. She even encouraged us to try the liners. The store was super hot but I actually thought it was me until one of the ladies said the air broke, but brought me one of her handheld fans (I left mine in the car). But I was having so much fun it didn't affect my good time. You get to pick out a vessel, you get to name your shade, you can add emojis to the lipstick case, you can give it a scent, etc. This was so much fun that I told my BFF that we should bring her Mom to do it. We went next door for lunch and a lady from out of town saw my bag and asked about it, I was so pleased she said she was going to walk in and see if she could do it on the spot, that is how much I liked it, I convinced a stranger lol. I would totally go back and do this with any of my out of town guests or even in town or just to do it again. You can reorder your shade online or in the store. And if you have a discontinued shade at home your dying to have, they can do that for you too. All of the ladies in there were very kind and helpful. Myself and some girlfriends went for my 32nd birthday and it was such a great experience! Nicole our color expert was absolutely phenomenal! She made subtle changes that changed the entire color and made it perfect for us. She really knows color theory and people's undertones. Upon entering everyone was nice and welcoming. This place is located on the strip so parking is not fun! They have several types of lipstick (matte, satin etc.), lip gloss, and a multitude of colors. You get to name your Lipstick, add a fragrance, and pick the vial it comes in. What's even nicer is that you can reorder it online. It's a little pricey but personalization usually is. This was a very cool experience! We thoroughly enjoyed creating our own lip colors. At one point it did seem like our lip lab tech seemed like she was rushing because the colors we were looking to achieve didn't match up to our liking and she must have had another party afterwards. We definitely didn't expect to pay $60 for one lipstick to be created. It seems a bit pricey to me, but maybe considering the options you get when creating your lipstick it's worth it. $60/ 1 lipstick $40/ additional lipstick $25/ for lip balm after a purchase of 1 lipstick. **you can easily leave out of here spending well over $100 if you like multiple colors or finishes created. I'll report back with a wear test on how well the matte lipstick and lip balms held up! read more

Oh my gosh! So much fun. I was lucky to get a last minute appointment while I was in Nashville and trying to figure out what to do. I had seen Lip Lab on Instagram and had been wanting to try it so bad but never was by one. Taylor was my consultant(?) and she was so nice. She explained the whole process and walked me step by step. I chose the satin lipstick in like a dark red and with sugar cookie scent. The product itself was pricy (~$75) but honestly it's worth it. I thought I would get to make my own shade. I actually got to give them inspiration then sit there and watch them make a color. When I asked to add a little of this I was told no. Being someone who understand color theory; I'm a hairstylist; I understand how to achieve what I'm looking for. This is a nice activity to try and the downtown Nashville area. When you enter, it's very creatively set up. The staffs energy is super low which is a drab for this experience where clients have high energy. Some of the mirrors did not work and/pr were not fully charged up when we arrived. We had an appointment, but the person who was assigned to us came out maybe 15 to 20 minutes after our appointment so we just sat there and watched other people get their lipsticks and lip glosses done. At times, it can be very loud in there due to people coming in for bachelorette parties or birthdays. It's nice that you get to pick out your lipstick lip gloss or balm shade smell the container color imprint and picture that goes on the side. The experience was OK. Three lipsticks for three people tip was 300.00. I was expecting so much. more was so excited. I sincerely hope your experience was better than mine. Let me be the first to say this place is awesome. My mixologist (is that what they are called? Artist? Lip Scientist? Lol) Shelby was awesome and friendly. They start you off by asking what color you might be looking towards doing and then give you an array of shades you might like asking if you want more or less added to them. It's fun to see them essentially create whatever kind of lipstick you want. I had seen these online for years and am excited there is finally one in Nashville! Definitely worth your time and money and you get to engrave and name your shade when you're done. Would be super fun for bachelorette parties or with friends, but I went by myself and had a ball. I came in by myself with an appointment because I was looking to color match a shade that was discontinued. No one greeted me and it surely wasn't busy for a Monday morning appointment. I walked to the back of the store where there were employees sitting. Low energy and zero smiles, they asked if they can help me and yes, I have an appointment. They passed me from one employee to another till the young lady helping me during my session showed up. She was what prevented this from being a 1 star or zero star review. She was helpful and very nice. Not something I would bring friends too due to this experience. And you probably want the word of mouth to bring more clientele in for a girls get together or outing. Seemed pretentious and truly was disappointing. I'm a sucker for anything that allows me to put my spin on it and Lip Lab didn't disappoint. My new BFF Brian in my opinion is a master blender. I'll sings his praises in more detail in a bit. I arrived for my appointment 10 minutes early. Brian greeted me with a warm smile and since I was the first appointment of the day we had plenty of time to get acquainted before my session began. Once we started he took great care to make sure that I understood the process and assured me that we would work to come up with the perfect shade. I'm no color expert so I didn't give Brian a lot to work with but in only two attempts he match the shade that I envisioned perfectly. The session lasts for about an hour but could go longer if you're unable to create the desired shade. The service includes color and fragrance selection, the custom blend experience and a custom engraved lip tube. Fun experience that I'll definitely do again. Enjoy!! read more

I went over the process , let us pick out shades we would wear and started formulating colors to make out perfect lippie shade . I did this experience for my birthday. It was five women. We had one person "assisting" us (Shelby). With a party of 5. You need at least two technicians. Ok. We got over that. We all got home about two hours later after enjoying dinner. And 3/6 colors were completely wrong (one friend bought two lipsticks totaling $110!!!). I went in to create an everyday nude shade for work, It came out with a red color (they tried to say it was because I got matte instead of satin, but that shouldn't change the color). I truly do not know where the technician went wrong, but I was just not pleased. We were told we could return the wrong color and they would "remake" the correct color. That was also a fail. The formula was obviously wrong. Anyway, for it to be $65 it was not worth it. 5th and Broadway is not a place you can just "run in real quick" to get something changed or adjusted. Not the best experience at all. If you go. Only take one other person. 3 ppl max!!! Or they will crisscross everything. I also requested a refund and kind of got an attitude. We had Jena at Lip Lab for our friend's bachelorette. She ruined our whole experience and made it absolutely TERRRRRRRRRIBLE. She was not at all friendly and made us all feel like inconveniences for not liking our initial color. She never smiled not one time!!!!!!!! Also no compliments either. She even told me that the color I chose at the end was not at all what I had recommended to her at first. Two of our girls were parking the car and they would not wait for them even though they were only 2 minutes away. We were denied adding sparkles after we discovered they existed (she never told us). Remember the whole point of this experience was to make it how we want it? Also, some other worker was like "do yall not have sugar cookie scent" and we were like no? (Because Jena didn't offer it to us). Also some other guy offered us the blue at the end which kind of made it a little better but Jena did not.
